Thank you PirovacBoy! Yes this race was good fun to drive in a strong and even lobby. 👍
I just hate it that it seems impossible for me to get a proper lap in qualifying. I managed several laps sub 1.46 in practice but there's always something in qualifying that kills it (others blocking me, mistakes by myself or penaltys). In this race I got a penalty in the first chicane just after changing my tires. Unfortunately the penalty appeared after I crossed the line so I destroyed 2 laps with that :ouch:
3 tenths faster and I will start on P5 which would gives me the opportunity to go for the podium in a race like that.

2nd time in a row where Nations for NA had internet issues. I managed to do the last two slots and both times, everyone's connection dropped to one bar at approximately the same point and time during the race. Results-wise, I did what I could using paddles but the fields are just too difficult to go in with that handicap. I heard the patch may have resolved this.

Manu went far better than expected. Subie was weaker than expected at Autopolis and too many OP cars on the grid put me right in the dreaded midpack. I hadn't really tried anything other than a one stop strat but my tires on Lap 5 looked like they could last the distance. Was ready to crank my wheel into pit entry when I said "Screw this" and stayed out.

Side note but those may have been my last race with the G29. T-GT is coming but I'll need to see how my times are. Quite interested to make a comparison.

I was in that room with you. These extremely fast rooms are competitive enough before throwing that one bar connection drop we had to deal with.

On a side note. I really need to set aside time to practice. I’m thrilled that I’m getting paired with top drivers but finishing P15 the last two rounds is a wake up call.

I felt the same, I was in the top lobby for Nations and was ready to jump off the roof of my house because my pace was so dismal in the Ferrari. LOL! I wasn't aware there was a significant advantage to using the shifter with the Ferrari, but it makes sense. I also didn't practice for Nations, so I shouldn't expect that my pace should have been great, but finishing 12th then trying again for an improvement and having a worse qualifying to finish 17th wasn't what I had in mind for the evening.

By the way, what is your PSN ID, it sounds like we were in the same race? I'm racing nations as DNA_Balder.

Nations round 4 is updated to be Gr.X at Autopolis everywhere, from what I can tell. I thought they may have been holding it back so they could list the boost multiplier, but it seems like that's still missing. Wonder what it'll be?

Here’s my Nations Race. Poor qualifying, but I managed a decent race pace and moved up 5 positions. Another great battle with DNA_AION that lasted up to the finish line. Was hoping for more points but this was a whole lot of fun. I don’t really excel at N-class cars but I managed to keep it pretty clean and penalty-free which gained me a few spots, then I even pulled off a pretty sweet overtake into T2 on lap 5. Definitely need to work on my qualifying skills for better results, but hey I’ll take it.

Someone mentioned the SF19 Nations race, is a One Make with the TRD. I don't see where it says that.

Times in the top 10 for Nations are pretty scattered surprisingly, seems to be alot of play room with track limits too.

So the EMEA car of choice for the Nürburgring Gr.4 race tomorrow seems to be the Lancer Evo. What do you guys think about that?

I’ve driven the Lancer extensively in last year’s Manufacturers series and while it is a decent car, it eats its front tyres and is not really fast in a straight line due to the long 5th gear. I’m quite surprised tbh it seems to be the go-to car for Saturday…

I’d be more inclined to use the Toyota as it’s ridiculously good on tyres and its lack of straight line speed won’t come into effect due to most people driving the Lancer which imo isn’t really fast anyway. I’m also considering the Aston (speed) and Merc (speed). Or has something changed with the Lancer in the last updates?

Nations Cup (Round 1)

Started 18th, mostly tried to keep it clean and on track for my first ever Nations Cup race (as well as avoid some of the drivers, who were just all over the place). Started on the Hards as I had a strategy I've been perfecting thanks to the Daily Race C I was doing weeks ago. Did one stop, took Mediums and began to catch the cars with four laps to go. Netted what was going to be 12th until someone who ran out of fuel decided to be a idiot and hit someone trying to pass by, gifting me 11th.

Exibition Series - Manufacterers (Round 1)

Was abit unsure on this one. On one hand, it wasn't one of the previous Tokyo Tracks (In fact, I actually like this one the most). On the other, its Tokyo. Usually that means bumper cars. So I start the race in 11th, Lap 1 was no so great as I messed up my braking point after overtaking one car and scraping the wall, lost 3 positions. Then would gain some back as two cars ahead were making contact, allowing me to get by one (and also get bumped from behind by another, trying to go for a space that was not present). Lap 2, I got by more cars as they seemed to have all gotten penalties from bumping, getting me all the way up to 9th. Lap 3 though, turn 1 Strikes again as this time I breezed past an Aston, only to again lose it on the brakes and this time, made accidental contact with the McLaren (no penalty). For the next 2 laps I settled down and focus on not screwing up turn 1 and finally, I got by that McLaren with no contact and no mistakes in Turn 1. Pitted on lap 7, got off the Mediums and on to the softs and spent the rest of the race trying to chase a Porsche down for 5th, which I did on the last lap.

Overall, solid Saturday for me.

Nations Cup (Round 2)

So when it comes to Sport mode, this has been by far my least favorite track so I wasn't exactly looking forward to this one. Starting 13th, all I had in mind was just staying on the track and not doing any worse. For a lot of the beginning of the race, it was simply a deadlock between me and two Ferrari F50s. Got bumped from behind many times by someone who was just way too eager to go for a move. I lost a few spots after a awhile after getting loose in some corners and made them up. In the final two laps, had some of my best driving as I finally made that overtake I've always wanted to pull off in Turn 1 and then battled until the final corner to finish 10th.

Exibition Series - Manufacterers (Round 2)

This race I was really looking forward to, Spent a huge amount of time in many cars on Autopolis so I was very much ready. Started in 12th , first lap was abit of a disaster as I got loose in Turn 1 and lost some positions and it only got worst after turn 7 as the pole sitter (who apparently had an incident) made a really aggressive dive and bumped me out the way, making me lose more positions. I had to get back in the rhythm and keep the car on track. As the race went on, tires on others car were wearing and many mistakes were gifting me places. While many were pitting on lap 5 and 6, I made it to lap 7 and pitted from the Hards for Mediums. This went beautifully as once again, cars in front were making mistakes and gifting me spots. Final two laps were spent trying to get around the pole sitter, who was clearly struggling AND had to serve a Penalty (losing even more time). On the final lap, he had a slip up in Turn 1 and I got a run. Made a dive for 11th (making contact, but no penalty) and staying there.

The Championship Track Limits setting made them very strict, especially the Senna S at Interlagos in this case.

I did a couple of runs yesterday and I am very happy with those limits. There is so much cutting normally that I really approve of those very tight limits. I find it a good thing 👍 They could have solved it with a tire-barrier as well but this is perfectly fine.

Went with the X-Bow (as I tend to do with the N300 races) and I was the only one in the room. My qualifying was poor and I started last and didn't really make much progress (16 minutes is too short for these races).

Quali in manufacturers didn't go a great deal better either. Only managed one timed lap and it didn't feel too great. Gained positions in the race by virtue of just keeping it on the track.

🤬 I go to enter the Nations race and I keep getting sent to the Manu entry. I tried from 17:48. Wouldn't send me to the entry. When 18:00 ticks over, it then sends me to the Nations entry and I miss the race. Ridiculous!

They suggested clear temporary internet files - see news post regarding fix of issue.

I haven't cleared any files, but I got in the two races.

Got punted on my first hot lap, by a silver AMG. Changed tyres and got 1 second for a left rear tyre on the curb. Whatever. Only good for one lap.

Atenza had a good consistent run.

Started in RM and pit too early. Kept telling myself to pit end of Lap 5, but pitted end of Lap 4. Anyway, top 10 is what I aimed for.

Can't wait for the SF19 race.

Yo! We sure were. My PSN is deathcabdaniel. We finished very close to each other. Nice to connect with you here. We need to practice more m8 lol

LOL! Yes, I did a couple of practice races for this round, but I'm sure it's not enough since I'm still a mortal. Hopefully tonight ends up being better than Wednesday. Cheers!
