Not much of a round for me. Attempted the no stopper on a whim as I was down in 7th at the time, was not the go at all but I had nothing to lose.

Although the Manu top 16 proved a little more interesting, with a crazy last lap. My perspective below.

Below is a bit of an analysis of the incidents at the end of the top 16 superstars race. Incidents at the front and rear of the field. Good times :D

Got barely any practice in for both Manufacturers and Nations because I've been spending the past few days playing other games but I ended up in 10th in Manufacturers and 13th place in Nations.

Could've been 9th place in Nations but I messed up the first turn of Autopolis on the second-last lap and had it ruined by some guy who spun me into a wall.

Is a no stop feasible in the Manufacturers race? I know the tyres will do it but is it competitive versus two Medium stints? My Toyota felt a real handful during the few laps I did on the Hards but the pit lane feels pretty long at Bathurst. Decisions decisions...

Don't No-Stop on Meds. Try to do it on Hards instead. Otherwise, 1-stop on Meds!

I was indeed thinking that the Superstars multiplier might be too low given that a smaller field (16 in this case) lowers the points table, as I'm sure many top players have noticed in the past when they don't end up in a full 20 player room. It turned out mostly fine for Oceania; first place was 2,821 points in Nations and 2,810 in Manufacturers when the highest non-superstar lobby to date was 2,517. But Europe's top 16 is at risk of not even being the highest scoring lobby of the stage (3,105 is a hard number to break, though I think they will get 3.2k or just under as long as no-one DC's before the points calculation).

I'm expecting less to be honest. There will be far less 75k DR people in Nations for example than a normal lobby (I've stopped doing Nations so I'm not as fussed) due to the nation limit.

Manufacturers could get very close though as it's not limited by nation, I think Jomas and Cubertom worked out it would be 3.1k if all the top 16 enter.

So, because there's no +1000 point kicker in these superstar races, if you're basically out of the top 2/3 its gonna be a drop round for you. At least for Oceania. Bit of a non-event really!

Yes it is absolutely an anticlimax when it makes more sense to not enter the race even if you have the opportunity.

In my case, for this round I entered the first timeslot, finished 4th and scored 1700 points. In the Top 16 race I would have had to get 5th (against a lot more top tier drivers) just to improve on this score.

Depends on where you start and who is around you. I stayed out of trouble . MAde sure I didn't make moves on the cars ahead that would allow the cars behind to catch up. No stop in the RC F was fine until the last lap. I lost 3.5 seconds(No mistakes) with tyre wear.

Did the same thing here. Got a comfortable score in the first race so I decided to sit out the top 16 (in manufacturers)

I have a feeling that the 5 region split will probably return to 3 regions. Maybe next year, or maybe changes to the live events how they will run. I feel there’s not enough variety of expert drivers in Au/Nz.

4th at Bathurst, no-stopping the GT-R on hards after qualifying 9th. The last lap was a riot. I had no steering coming down the mountain, which was an experience.

Only 14 drivers making it into what was supposed to be a top 16 EU race. Between this and the entire lobby for Asia Manufacturers bricking, this has been yet another farcical night for what was supposed to be a showcase of GT Sport at it's best. This cannot keep happening if PD wants to promote the FIA championships as being amongst the pinnacle of sim racing.

In terms of pure distance, at 1x, how far can one go on each sort of tire before you seriously begin to feel the wear? I wanna know if I should consider using the other available compound tonight, or if not, considering both the distance of the race itself and the tire wear multiplier.

Here just to vent a little... waited all day for the Manufacturer Series at 7:00. At warmup and qualy got a black screen for autodrive... tried exiting and entering qualifying many times... got DQF for staying idle for too long ... done and lost 2k DR Oh well...

Well, the South American Championship was presented to a new bug right now. I'm currently texting, waiting for the 23h Nations Race to start. After 16 out of 20 cars keep hitting the pit walls chaotically without leaving to the qualify. Question: Killing static mechanics drops SR?

Minute 31... Mom... Mooooom!!!

Ok, so its a wrap for Season 2 Manufacturers Series.
This is the first time I race this format and I have to say I really like it.
The races I have participated have been clean and the 10 minutes qualifying adds quite an interesting element.

Tonight I had a very satisfying race at Bathurst that for the longest time have been my nemesis.

I will be driving the next season as well !

Bad day today. In Top16 Nations race, got traffic all over the qualy, finishing qualify in 11th. Not much you can do starting so far back.

Also got blocked on Manus top16 qualify, but this time my first banker was still good enough for 3rd. A lot of drivers went for the no stopper, which compromised my 1 stopper strat, and in the end, IMO, the Vantage guy deliberately rans off track to give me a 5s pen that cost me 2 positions. I had a little bit of overlapping when he started to turn in. Gave him plenty of room on the outside but he just goes straight and the game punishes me.

I decided to go against the grain and use the GTR for the nations top 16 race. A very disappointing qualifying left me starting in 8th. Paced my self in the race to make sure the the no stop worked and I was awarded with a 2nd place finish after passing Ant on the last lap. So now after 8 rounds I am 3rd in points. Here's hoping I can stay there.

My first ever attempts at a superstar race was quite mediocre, relatively uneventful 9th place in nations and a very eventful 7th place in manufacturers. Nations score was my second worst so far so will probably never count. Manu score was good enough to improve me a few hundred but still outside the top 10, if only I didn't gamble my points away at monza I would be ahead of the dirty punter who didn't have a clean race in Bathurst either. Shame there's no base score as I was hoping to pull away from the mid pack, but I've been against base score in the past because it just creates such a divide.

Thanks for the post race analysis and chats, if I didn't smack into double h (or commit any other mistakes) I had a small chance of catching the VW ahead and get into the top 10 overall.

FIA yesterday was a mixed bag. Although I did not gain any new points, I had a decent Nations result, but a pretty bad MFG race.

I had never spent much time learning Bathurst before yesterday, and by race time I still only had about 2 hours total time hot-lapping and practice lobbies on the course. Qualy time was down in the 2:04's, but most other DR-A and A+ drivers were at least 2 seconds faster. Needless to say, I didn't expect a great result. Joined the first slot, I think I was in 2nd split, which was a 2000-point lobby. Qualified low, something like 15th. At least there's no pressure to perform down here. Race was going really well actually, had moved up 6 or 7 spots before I got punted in T2 by a Porsche driver who qualified on P2 then had a terrible race that somehow put him behind me. He got a penalty on Lap 1, then tried to aggressively push his way back up through the field and ended up in more wrecks with more penalties. Much later, by the time he came up behind me, I guess he was done waiting for us slow plebs and decided to send me into the wall from 3-tenths back. That gave him a 4s penalty and he was pissed about it...so what does he do? Later in that lap he slows down to a complete stop on the way down the hill, knowing I couldn't stop in time. I tapped him, he proceeded to drive himself off track to induce a 5s penalty on me. He then passes me later while I'm serving it and finishes a few spots ahead of me. He cost me about 12 seconds total. Could have finished around 8th, but ended up in 13th I think it was. In the post-race chat he asked me "wtf are you doing?" and said that I braked way too early, then called me "Mr. Slow." Odd because I brake in the same spot as pretty much everyone else for T2, maybe I can't brake as late as he can since he's in the Porsche and I'm in the Mazda, but punting me from 3 tenths back? Then taking your anger out on me by causing a wreck and penalty on purpose? Come on. Checked his stats later and saw he has more DR resets than I care to mention. I certainly owe this guy at least one. Saw him causing chaos in a later race too, on a friend's stream. Apparently this is a pattern. Ok, noted, done with MFG for the day. I'm happy with P2 for Mazda anyway.

Nations was actually great. Uneventful, but in a good way. Top split lobby outside of the Top 16, so essentially the best of the rest. Almost 2200 point room. Could have qualified better, but started in 11th. My qualy time was actually tied with @SpecMiata-JSW and it put him in 10th! First time that has ever happened to me. Not sure how it decides who goes first, maybe alphabetical? Or by DR? Anyhow, the first few laps of this race were really amazing. It was one of those races where nothing really happens for awhile and everybody stays single file, clean through corners, drafting and working together. I'm sure it was different elsewhere, but in front of me it was a beautiful sight to see that line of cars cruising through every corner. Once the pit strategies started to unfold is when the race got more interesting. One driver in front pitted on lap 4 to get out of traffic. I pitted lap 5, and a couple guys ahead of me pitted one lap later, end of lap 6. I witnessed an incident when I was leaving the pits that resulted in 2 guys getting punted and the punter getting penalties. 3 spots gained. Then I was able to undercut 1 of the late pitters. I'm pretty sure @SpecMiata-JSW was pulling a no-stopper, so I eventually caught back up to him and made the pass. Props to him for facilitating that. It's not easy on anyone to overtake through T1, it definitely takes two. Ended up finishing 7th for 1400 points. Not a keeper, but a real fun and very clean race. If I had another half a lap P6 would have been mine, but the guy who pitted on lap 4 seemed to have made the better choice by avoiding traffic and finished about a half second ahead of me.

Happy racing gents! See you all soon.

Here's another way to get more acquainted with the Supra's handling characteristics.
D4mfy_HVUAAgPMS.jpg

I was doing a bit of this Sunday. I figured out what was making the Supra so tough for me to drive.

I put a bunch of laps in on my wheel then I switched to DS4 just for fun and killed my time by 1.5 seconds right away. The reason I figured was with the DS4 I could correct myself a lot easier when the weight shifted to one side and the the other. So I went back to my wheel and turned the FFB Torque down 3 notches. Made all the difference.

With higher torque on the wheel I found that when the weight shifted and I go to correct it the weight would shift hard back to the other sided and "catch" and I'd get stuck in kind of a pendulum effect and lose lot's of time or just end up spinning out. Lower torque means I can quickly move the wheel from one side or the other without it grabbing too much. It took some getting used to but after a few laps I just beat that DS4 time and I should still have some pace in the bag.

It certainly doesn't feel as good as having my torque higher but anything that makes me faster is worth getting used to. Something to consider for those struggling on the wheel.

I'll have to see how I do on Fuji with the lower torque. I did the whole DS4 wheel comparison there earlier in the week and my pace was just about the same. Maybe it's the kind of thing I have to adjust track by track.
