I guess I should practice more for these now that I'm getting in higher and higher splits. Was off the pace in quali and didn't make up too much in the race.

Had a great Saturday night, pushing Bishop all the way for the win. A solid haul of points has helped me boost my position however the 3rd race bizarrely had more points on offer, very disapppointing as I definitely could have come out on top in that race and boosted my score to 2100+ instead of 1860 :(

I found the Mustang genuinely noncompetitive at Nurb GP. Real shame it used to be one of my fav circuits. Also I would have RUN OUT OF FUEL after fuel burning during the opening and had to short-shift the final lap to come in with an empty tank... So at least that gives me a reference to how much worse the car is on fuel saving.

I managed one really nice pass in my first race, then my house lost power minutes before the 2nd slot. Power came back on with a few minutes to the third slot. That ended up in top-split and cold and the race was terrible.

This pass was highlight of the night, everything else was solo driving.

Tried being a hipster and used the Ford GT40 in Nations. My thinking was that the top speed advantage will nullify the XBOW's cornering advantage. Unfortunately I forgot Weak draft was on and it ends up being the same anyway  Tyre life is about the same for both cars (maybe slightly worse for GT40 at the end of the race, but nothing major). Still did a good race. Managed to hold off faster drivers at the start and hang with the pack to finish 7th IIRC. If the GT40 had better gearing (closer and quicker shifts) it could be a real contender. Otherwise XBOW is the safe bet but man it's just so boring when one car is the clear meta. Might as well make it a one make race.

Manu I was surprised at the turn out despite it being the last slot race. Usually I was midfield DR wise but with the number of aliens I knew this was going to be another backmarker race  Evo is as good as the WRX from mid corner to exit, but brakes are not as good unfortunately. Finished right where I started (16th/17th ish). Got close to a Beetle in the closing stages but with the Evo being down on top speed it was always a struggle to get close enough into T1 or the chicane to overtake without divebombing. Pretty boring race overall. I don't think anybody had any change of position between quali and the final result. I was expecting good battles because of the low tyre and fuel wear, but the rolling start gaps are just too wide (I started all the way in the middle of the chicane ). With the level of drivers in top split, somebody rarely makes a mistake and it just ends up being a static gap management race.

Gr.B for next Nations is going to be interesting at least. Maybe PD might drop a surprise update next week and make it a rain race :p Monza in my Evo Gr.4 though, I might as well drive the race in reverse :banghead:

Hey mate, i was in both your races, i remember you in the gt40, you did well, pretty sure you were right behind me towards the finish in Nations, i made a few errors and i thought you might end up in my slipstream.

Online gets you the closest thing to grip and tire wear/fuel usage. There is usually an open lobby in any regions for whatever race you’re doing.
Just fired up a private room and did 8 laps at full song. This was the result:

If this is close to reality, then non-stop is possible. Not sure if the Genesis is easier on fuel compared to others.

Fuel should not be a concern for anyone doing Monza. Pretty much same deal as always: carnage and penalties for cutting the chicanes.

I didn't do a write up for Saturday's manufacturers because in short, it was an utter disaster (following the dizzying heights of my first FIA win in the race before).

Qualifying didn't help. Two laps of fuel burning and go into the pits for fresh tyres. Sat watching my car wondering why it wouldn't pull away. That would be because I didn't tell my pit crew to NOT refuel the car. Epic fail. :dunce:

Started 18th, finished 15th

Let's see if the lottery of Monza goes any better tomorrow :)

Mustang isn't the fastest car in gr4 but it's certainly not bad. The McLaren and Ferrari seem like they're going to be good here, the Lexus and SLS as usual are good. The FF cars can qualify well too. Still should have a shot at a competitive result, just need to win (more accurately: not lose) the lottery in the chicanes a few times with traffic.

Might be an interesting race with FF cars qualifying well then dropping in race pace as their tires drop off.

Go Ford! Good luck!

Monza is always a lottery, you never know if you’re going to get killed on T1 L1, or if you’ll make it through the mayhem and capitalize on penalties; or if you just suck here like I do and always have a lackluster result.

What cars are people using for Nations? The Audi is usually the Gr.B car to go too but it's not in the top times leaderboard, but I'm not sure how the tyre wear will vary from car to car.

The 86 is strong on tyres, while the Focus is the fastest. The former can do a no-stop with some smooth driving, while the latter requires you to do a 1-stopper.

I'm not much slower in the Audi as compared to the Focus, but it seems to be a bit better on the tires. I think I'm gonna take the Audi.

I haven't tried the Toyota yet tho...

Tried the Toyota, it's possible. Last few laps were abit dodgy and when I was finished the tyre bars were approx half way down on all of them..the Pug in front no stopped and gave me a spanking in the last 5 laps

Only doing Nations today because WRX is trash on the straights...and somehow survived in the 86 by simply be patient on the race.

Also on last Saturday, the "X-BOW Cup" race at the Big Willow had me going for a nice battle with P9, then Manufacturers...dammit, my car was strong here, but that damn chicane costed my flyer!! Also because of that, no pics for the latter.

Super bummed. Im traveling this week for work and will be missing tonight’s races. Im fairly certain I’ll be pushed out of the top 16 with not having a chance to replace my 3rd highest score today. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you all who turned up for my stream! Was incredible and just keeps getting better! I enjoy it more each time :D

My races from tonight, some very tough battles throughout.

Excellent footage and great analysis! As a fellow Ferrari driver for this Manu Series, this was food for thought. That Aston was very strong, as was the Corvette as you guys battled in the latter end of the race. Also loved that footage from Monkey Matt's car. It goes to show "It aint over til its over".

It's time for some official manufacturer series action! It's round 9, and anything can happen at Monza! We're after 2.4k + Points lets see what we can do!

Complete disaster at Nations, the "moving road block" problem again. I don't understand how people qualify so fast then race so slow?! Even early in the race with reasonably fresh tyres there were people lapping 2-3 seconds slower than they'd qualified

Depends on their strategy. They may be trying to save tires and no stop or just save tires in general. I know I don’t/can’t run Q times in a race, too much mayhem on the track.

I went from 2nd to 14/15 on the first corner..burned my tyres up cutting through traffic.. the 1 stopper caught me 2nd last lap (and I binned it for a change )

You should of tried to follow me through the traffic

I saw you doing a nice job of moving up the field ahead of me. It's definitely not my strong point, but it doesn't help when I patiently wait lap after lap for a 100% legit overtake, get fully alongside on the inside, then they just ram me before the turn in point, ruining my line and preventing the overtake. Without that, I'd have been 3rd when you were 2nd, I could see you on the track ahead. But they were determined to keep me behind at all costs, then the 1-stoppers caught up due to our painfully slow pace, and it all got very messy and I ended up near enough DFL. It was tough not to rage quit. I've just tested a 1-stop in the Focus and total race time was only 3 secs slower than my best Toyota no-stop, so I might try that next time, as the problem was it seemed impossible for the Toyota to overtake a Focus down the straight, then you're just stuck behind them while they slide all over the track in between the end of the straight and the start of the next straight.

Nation today is just a big mess. 1 stop for me is the best way to stay out of the flow during the second half , faster also with fresh tires turn easier the task avoiding contact.
I finish 17 sc from the 1st due to 3 off track accidents in the first half that put me from 4th to last position. I'll try the next slot again with peugeot RCZ .
