Same here! Had a good run in Manu though. It's been great!

Focused more on Nations, The Manu was too much fuel saving not enough racing for me... i dont mind abit of fuel/tyre saving, but not that much.
Looking forward to Weds!

Thinking I'll be the only "standard" N300 user tonight. I set a time with the SF-R concept, but might go with the FuguZ, 930, A90 Supra, R34 or FD RX-7.

No Roadster Touring Car? ;)

Nah, it's not a "stock" N300 car. I did a good lap with it in Practice. Has to be BoP'd. I chose the GTO. Just want to have some fun.

Edit: Did a 1:40.128

Edit2: An R33 quite before the race started with a post, " I think picked the wrong car"

Anyway, piited end of lap 5 and I finished 3 seconds before the time ran out.👍

When the rules read "N300 car from Garage" it should be N300. Not N400 detuned or N200 upgraded. Choices should be N300 cars only.

Fuel qualifying needs to die.

Had both qualifying laps ruined because people were fuel burning and cruising on the racing line/ apex while I was doing my hot lap at racing speed.

Qualified 13th when my practice times were good for 3rd. Had a decent shot at a victory and 40 points but not to be.

Contrast to Rangeraus above, I had a hell of a night in the Ferrari! (take that Mclaren :D ) Some nuts races and a massive stream to boot. Loved it! Thank you all who came along!

EDIT: I do agree with you though Ranger, the fuel burn needs to go, and just let us pick how much fuel we need for qualy.

What I didn't appreciate, was a player I've raced against numerous times, slipstream me on the flying lap and compromise my entry and exit. That player got an initial 5th place and I was 11th. I had to do another run to try and best that, but started 12th. I mean, that was probably his strategy, but don't let cars pass and then decide to latch onto someone. I know for next time.

That same player got shuffled down from 8th and finished one spot ahead of me as I was fighting him for position. I had way better pace and tyres, but I kept leaving him room.

Good luck today everyone!

It's getting close to the end of the season. Can't wait to watch all the streams when I'm done my own race/races.

I think the story of the night is going to be Pug, it's probably the last track that really suits the longboi. They need big finishes to get back in the fight. Also see if Alfa can do enough to stay in the top 12.

The corner next to the church at Sardegna is horrible. I don't think I've taken it the same way twice, ever. My rating is terrible right now so I probably won't get as many points for Nissan as I could/should, but it's still nice knowing I have an advantage. All I need to do now is decide on tyres. I wish I had a wheel so badly.

I'm struggling to find speed and consistency here too, I'm not sure what it is about the big Sardegna layout, but I also struggled last time we raced here in the opposite direction.

It must be a mental block for me.

My pace is there minus a few corners, the strategy is going to be the problem. 8 laps on mediums with a DS4 isn't ideal. I lose probably the same time from pitting as I would for those tyres going off, so do I start at the front and try to run away before pitting? Or go on hards and hope people don't crash into because I'm going so slowly?

I'm much worse at the B layout than the A as well. Apex-less corners that go on forever. Woohoo.

Yeah, I was not very happy.

The other 2 races offered barely over 2100 points for the winner. It felt like some of the World Tour guys mailed it in for race 1 (which boosted the lobby points) and then didn't attempt any others.

Race 2:
Got blocked again in qualifying by a driver who should have known better than to fuel burn on the racing line in turns 3/4. Was pretty slow to react even after flashing lights which would suggest he wasn't paying much attention.
Still started P3, finished P4 behind Nik_Makozi, FSR_WeApOnN and MINT_GTR.

Race 3:
Decided to go again and got a clean qualifying for P3 behind Nik_Makozi (who got the mother of all slipstreams to get pole) and FSR_FlyingDumbo (second account?) in the Aston Martin. Was running P3 until a usual suspect kindly ran me out of road at the final corner to make sure I couldn't blast back past him down the straight. Finished P5 as I was burning the tyres trying to maintain a better race pace.

I have 1 more shot to make Manufacturers Top 16 Superstars but the F1 GTR will be dreadful at Catalunya anyway, so I might not enter any more races this season.

...

Side note:
As of the start of this stage, there will be a maximum of 10 drivers per country to qualify for Nations Superstars at the end of season (previously it was 12). I am currently the 10th Australian to qualify and am 12th overall in region. The person who is currently 13th overall in region will not qualify.

It is pretty daft as the person who is currently 33rd overall in region will qualify. :boggled:

Very true, tough corner. At least on the reverse layout, there is a building that peaks around the apex as a perfect marker for when bury the throttle down on exit. This forward layout is of more of a guess and feel type corner, at least on exit. Assuming your talking about the corner just before the weaving, uphill flatout section.

Also the chicane before the final "real" corner. I feel like I'm taking that a bit too cautious.

Oh yeah I had a look at the videos of the top ten and I'm losing at least half a second there, easy. I think I'm going to end up just flinging it in and hoping I don't hit the sides.

For the church corner there is a martial post on the right hand side of the track about half way around the corner. As long as I get to the apex at a decent speed (and that's hit and miss) I use the martial post as a marker for when to get back on the throttle. That might help, it might make things worse!

The chicane before the last corner is a nightmare. So much time is gained and lost there and the lighting conditions don't help. What I've learned is that I can get the car much closer than I think to the left hand apex. Also running slightly wide at the exit and getting wheels on the grass isn't the end of the world. Just minimise steering inputs and all should be fine.

Let's get some S-FR Action going.. if it doesn't go well at 6pm I might go for the X-bow at 8pm.
Good luck all

I love Ferrari, and the F50 just about qualifies if you bring the power down to the lowest notch. The F40 isn't selectable, as it can't be detuned enough, and the F50 is better handling anyway. I don't expect to win, but it will be fun driving a car twice the size of most other people in the race! I love the SF-R so will take that on the next race and go for gold, unless I get unexpectedly good points from the first race.

EDIT: That was a lot of fun. The F50 is so planted and faster down the straight (and back straight even) than the SF-R's, even if they catch up they can't overtake.

I also love how lower down the DR ranks everyone doesn't drive the meta because you will do better with a car that suits you more than being uncomofrtable in the technically best car.

Therefore there were 12 jellybeans of various flavours (mmm, blackcurrant and licorice) and an old '89 M3 (sideways city), a TTS Coupe (DNF), an M4 (it came 4th!), a 930, my F50 (once I got used to it I felt I could have done even better in a longer race as it doesn't push the hard tyres to wear much), an R34, an X-Bow and a '19 Supra, which looked like it wanted to go sideways more than forward.

So yeah, had a lot of fun in mid 90's land doing the race to the first Garbage album, which is fitting for GT.

I was dreading Nations a bit, as I felt it would be incredibly hard to overtake, so I imagined it being quite easy to get tangled up in someone's clumsy overtaking effort, get bundled down the field, and have no chance of making significant progress back up. My sense of dread only increased when the lobby list came up, and I recognised quite a few names of decent drivers from previous races and practice lobbies. However, this is how it played out :)

Another race of frustration, starting 8 finished 10.. putting myself in stupid positions and paying the price. Down to 15 but kept the head and started gaining the positions back...looks like 8pm is worth the effort

7pm Manufacturers Slot

First time doing the 7pm slot! Qualified 9th with an okay lap and finished 6th for 1459 points. Not bad points at all (my 3rd highest) but probably need more to get to where I want to be. Will spend the next 30 mins deciding what to do. Being a sprint race there were a lot of lunges going on and saw a few people spin/get spun out so my head says to take the points and run. I guess those who are racing are desperate to get whatever points they can from the races left. It was a high rated lobby (for me) too. Almost 2k points for the win.

Was in the same lobby as @Lost Sheltie who got dealt a really harsh 4s penalty. After getting lunged he left space for the offender who tagged him and then the wall. Not sure if it was on purpose but not at all fair.

Congratulations on pole! That Corvette was very strong, and you respectfully gave him room to run. Also great defensive driving for those last couple of laps. Glad to see a fellow Ferrari with a great podium finish.

8pm Nations, 15th in the lobby, qualified 2nd (held up on last lap, so might of taken pole) and was quite happy with that. 1st place and myself opened up a 1-2 secs in a few laps and i pressured 1st into the mistake.. took 1st place on lap 4 and drove away from the field. last 2 laps where "bring it home" mode as its too easy to pick up a penalty. Crossed the line with a few seconds to spare! 1500 odd points and took all everyones DR... lovely jubbly!
Special mention to the person in the F50 who started near the back and finished in the top 6... i applaud you!
