One and done tonight, kind of an uneventful race really. Not great points, but it’s enough that I don’t wanna risk going again.

So you say it´s a one stop soft for soft trying to avoid refueling... What are the lap times to make it work? I´m clocking 46.7 to 46.9 but tyres wont last half of the race... I was one of the guys thinking about a two stopper![]()
Talk about cutting it close to not getting that last qualifying lap in. Quite impressive.
Found that a 2-stopper would likely save you 1-3s. Granted I'm on a pad so my braking isn't all too smooth. There was a similar combo last year with the Gr.3 cars, where it's more touch and go whether 1 stop or 2 stop is faster. IIRC the delta between fresh and worn tyres were 1 second then. With Gr.4 cars the time loss is less so you're better off trying to manage on track rather than doing an extra stop and risk getting blocked by traffic.

I was chasing you most of this race. Well Done!
I kept waiting for your Jag's tires to die. But looks like you managed them nicely. Thanks man, Same to you!
That was fun, you were catching me in the last couple of corners and then I’d gain a bit back in T1. You made it very hard to save fuel/tires.If it wasn’t for having the draft of the guys ahead of me I think you’d have caught me. Sorry again about the bump too, totally accidental.

23.20 -- 9S/10s fuel/9s
23.21 -- 17m fuel/11s
23.23 -- 14s fuel/14m
Strangely enough, I have to credit the 1-stop strategy for moving me up 5 spots. Had a poor showing at the back of the grid and wasn't gaining ground nor losing much. Was already 15s behind at the start so only hope was gaining 7-9s for taking away a pit. Lap times on medium seemed equal if not better than softs. If you test alone under perfect conditions then yes on paper 2 stop maybe faster. But remember in a race with unpredictable traffic + draft helping a 1 stopper, 1-3 seconds really isn't that much difference. You get blocked for 2 laps and that's your advantage gone.
Everyone has a different style but my personal approach with strategy is always look at bigger picture (not always the exact race time down to seconds) and choose the most robust strategy that doesn't get affected by "external" disturbances. So if you run 100 different race simulations, which strategy will give you the highest probability of finishing ahead (not necessarily the one fluke result that is the fastest in absolute time).
Of course, if you're Mik Hizal and you start on pole everytime and can pull away the choice is simple and you always go with minimum race time. But chances are, you're not![]()
What's the one make in Nations at Monza? I am at work, so don't have access to the game to check...
Standing start, Monza and very fast cars. Umm, what could go wrong?
What car are you using? The softs easily last 14-15 laps for most cars if you manage it properly early in the stint.
I predict half the field has 2s contact penalties after the 1st chicaneThe mighty SuperFormula! And strictly speaking it's a two make as you can use Toyota or Honda
It's also a standing start ...... at Monza. So that'll be interesting!
