Make sure you calculate your fuel correctly.

I didn't expect this. Pure luck.

Started 2nd behind the AMG. Made sure to stay in the slipstream, but mind my tyres(M6 wagged the tail a couple times). Figured the AMG was going to run me long.

The RC F was staying behind until, I hit the corner of the wall at the tail end of the circuit(watch that on exit). Next lap, it was right on the butt of the AMG and went into the gravel, at the same spot I hit the wall!

Watching the replay, the RC F is on exact fuel level as me(half tank end of lap 5), but its left rear is slightly more worn( due to wheelspin after the off).

I was lifting/coasting between the 100 & 50 signs before T1. To add, I didn't try for any passing before the pit stop. Even when I was able to pass for the lead down the front straight, starting lap 8.

AMG pits end of Lap 8. Me and the RC F go one more lap. We come out behind the AMG. Replay shows RC F overfills. I just fill at the exact laps left(mistake). Set fuel 2 to compensate.

I'm catching the AMG as it looks to be having a little trouble with rhythm. Its slow at the bottom hill left-hander. On exit I get alongside and AMG makes my pass easy.
RC F passes soon after.

RC F is pushing with fuel to burn. Staying calm and smooth, at the exit of the windmills, the RC F is on a tight line, I'm on the wide line. Contact on my left rear corner. I save a near spin. AMG passes RC F. Lap 14 begins.

Lap 15. AMG pushing now. I have 1/4 tank left. Start raising the revs. AMG fading slightly. Gap increasing.
Front straight. AMG pits! Aww, man.

Final lap. Done.

I am also running the M6. I race on TCS 1 or 0, FM-1 and BB -4. Wondering what settings you are using. I did a sim race and I pitted at end of lap 9 and had 0.5 lap of fuel in my tank. Refueling took a loooong time. Any advice? Thanks

I race stock settings, but TCS 0. Took my time. Didn't have an idea how the fuel and tyres would go. During qualy, saw that I had 5.5laps by the end of the session. That was 3 laps full speed from leaving the pits.

Shifting just before redline, coasting before T1, taking wide entry and exit, braking straight to save tyres to keep the rear from coming around, staying calm.

I was fortunate in that B/S room. The whole field were foreign to me, as everyone greeted one another. Seemed like a club of players.

Us three at the front, pulled away by not passing one another until after the pit stops. If you can use the slipstream, take T1 with care and others around you are respectful, hopefully you have a good result.

Thanks for the tips and heads-up!

Seriously wish I hadn’t bothered today. After disconnecting in first attempt, this time qualified 7th and by end of lap 1 was 13th after being knocked around like a pinball machine. Then had the pleasure of one of the dirtiest drivers I’ve seen continuously punting me and others off on purpose, giving me a total of 9 seconds of penalties and full damage on one single lap. Was 17th with a few laps to go and could only bring myself home in 13th. Honestly feel like giving up on the whole thing.

Well, that's an interesting race today.
Yesterday I went online in a lobby to practice. Just after I joined qualifying started. I never drove that track in this direction before... So I had to learn the track during that qualifying and the following race. I needed several laps to get the first turn right, causing some mayhem. Also I bottled the sharp right turn coming down the hill, where the barrier is coming hard towards the track several times. At that time I felt there's no chance that this will be a good result. I also needed more than 208 points to improve at all.
Then, today, I started doing some offline practice. That helped a lot as I steadily improved and made fewer and fewer mistakes. My best time trial lap was a 1:20.9 so not too shabby I think.

In the first slot I had a bad qualifying and only managed to reach P15. Not what I wanted and not what I could achieve...
Now to the race: Going into turn 1 I didn't want to risk anything and coasted and braked early similar to the cars in front. Unfortunately though the Mercedes behind didn't think so and shoved it to the inside and pushed me out. Was last, but three other cars had a bit of a fight and I got past two of them to stay in P17. From then on I paired up with another Mercedes - the first stint I was in front of him, the second stint he was in front of me. And we made some remarkable progress. By the end of lap 1 I was in 14th which became P10 before the first pit stops started in lap 7.
I pitted in lap 10 and was in P11 after my pit stop. One car even pitted in lap 12!
One driver crashed out and I got past another one (who tried to crash me out afterwards) so P9 in the end for 190 points. Good, but not enough.

Didn't make the second slot due to dinner, but tried again in the third slot.
Qualifying was ok. Unfortunately I was a bit too close to the car in front which cost me some time, but got P9 with a 1:12.895. I could've gone past him but that would've only cost both of us a lot more time.
Going into turn 1 I was once again careful, but since I started in the upper half no one divebombed and everything went smooth. The McLaren in front almost binned it coming out of turn 1 so I got up to P8.
Then it was a slipstream train up until the pitstops. The first two pitted in lap 7, pretty much everyone else in lap 8. Only me and another car behind stayed out to pit in lap 9. Not the best idea I had but I had to try something else.
After my pitstop I was in P12 which immediately became P11 as someone spun out of turn 1. In lap 11 there was some kind of duel in front with two drivers crashing each other and both retrieving 6 second penalties. So I got up to P9. In lap 12 the two cars directly in front of me had an impact with one car going off. The other one, a McLaren, was fuelsaving I believe and I tried to go past him on the start finish straight. We went head to head into turn 1 and to my surprise I got past and there was no contact whatsoever. Great driving @PRST_Chambaze!
There was a 4 second gap to the cars behind and we were about to catch them as the race ended. One of them ran out of fuel so gained another position for P6. 227 points! Not that great but still an improvement that I didn't want to risk so I won't go again.

This is the video of race 2:

You guys mess with FM during race or just short shift?

Also saw some people finish at the top in practice races doing a 0-stopper.

It depends on the race. I try just to short shift when I can, but I know some times playing with fuel map is better. I just hate taking my Radar away to mess with it.

good luck tonight...maybe I’ll see you out there later.

I usually only do short shifting and lifting the throttle to coast into braking when necessary.
I'd only use fuel management in cornery bits before accelerating or when in slipstream and catching up to the car in front. But I know me and playing around with it while driving would only increase the chance of me binning it somehow, so I don't ;-)

This may be the worst weekend of FIA for me ever. Was absolute **** last night and dealt with a filthy driver that still finished with a blue S.

Practice on Sorrydegna today has been an absolute laugher. Apparently the 4C means all 4 wheels are going to slide around every corner. I have no experience with this track and I can see my DR going into the dumpster. My SR will be fine since driving dirty still means your SR stays at 99.

Has to be the best race I’ve ever had in FIA! Qualified in 4th thanks to a helpful draft down the final straight. By lap 2 of the race had made it up to 2nd behind a Mazda. The pair of us pulled away from the pack and spent the whole race bumper to bumper. I timed it perfectly making my move and finally taking the lead at the start of the final lap and keeping it nice and tidy. Loving the Z4!!

As usual with tracks I don't really like, I couldn't stop driving like a dumb:censored:. My stupidity returned early as I went off on the first turn after having qualified a surprising 10th. After that it was stupid mistake after stupid mistake - mostly hitting the wall. I somehow managed to finish 12th and get 112 points which actually wouldn't be my worst points result in this pathetic season I'm having in Manufacturers. Looks like I'm going again though. I've got 4 more rounds....surely in at least 1 of them I can minimize my stupidity and get a half-decent finish, right?

One and done in Manufacturers Cup at Sardegna tonight. Qualified 11th, made up a few positions at T1, lap 1 and came home 6th for 134 points in a relatively uneventful race.

Decent weekend overall with points scoring finishes in both events, although Monza in the SF19s did take 4 attempts.

Another fun night of learning. Qualified 5th with a 1:21.2 in the 1st race, and did ok with my pace and fuel and picked up a couple of places until I pitted on lap 8. Came out in 9th after making sure to put in plenty of fuel and set off after the guys ahead. Picked off a few guys who were saving fuel and tyres and then came upon the guy in 3rd on the last lap and smashed him into oblivion. Turned out his tyres were more worn than I realised and I just didn't brake in time, so had to wait for him (Sorry). Finished 17th.

Went again a few hours later, but didn't realise how strong the slipstream was, and since I didn't have any I only qualified in 10th. Saved as much fuel as possible, and then after the pitstop I went chasing again. Managed to work my way up to 7th and then had a side by side going into that 1st right hander. I was on the outside and braked nice and early hoping to undercut him, which worked as he missed his braking point by about 15m. Turns out I had loads of pace as I then did 2 laps under 1:22 and closed up on the guys in front, but I was simply too far behind. Loads of fun tonight.

Pigems, how is the jag treating you at backwards deg? Im struggling in th jag with running one set of tires for all16 laps. Last 4 laps are pretty weak.

Nope, I'm still a dumb:censored:. Qualified 11th in a room where 1st-16th were separated by 0.9s. Held station for the first few laps before I put a wheel off on the banked left-hander and fell down to 13th. Got back up to 11th after a few others made mistakes, but unfortunately I couldn't keep my usual stupidity in check and accidentally divebombed someone going into turn 1 and forced them off the track :dunce::dunce::dunce:. It took them a while to gather it back up while I waited because I felt bad. I pitted that lap then spun because my stupid self forgot how to drive on cold tires. Drove around just enough to make sure my net SR positive after my incidents, then quit on my final lap because the result wasn't even worth it after being lapped. Surprisingly I was 18th of 19 instead of last when I called it quits.

3rd time's the charm? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Wow, somehow my second race was even worse. Didn’t even set a qualifying lap because even though I got out of the way of oncoming cars on my outlap, someone still managed to ram me and I got engine damage. Had to waste time sitting on the side of the track waiting for it to repair. Finished dead last in the race too.

The way things are heading, I’m going to have to resort to doing Daily races to get back this lost DR.

It was alright, not great, but not too bad either, I was changing tires on the pit stop though. :)

I had a decent race in the first one in a pretty strong room, pitted late and picked up a couple spots on the last lap because of a incident ahead. Overall not a bad race.

Next race was in a lower room again. I qualified a little better this time and was on my way to another decent race until a guy tried to pass me in the downhill double left hander late in the race. I got scared being he outside car and clipped the sand trying to avoid any contact and went round. Could have maybe had a 6th or 7th in that one if not for that. Oh well, them’s the breaks.

Qualified relatively high up for Nations yesterday but unfortunately was last by the 2nd chicane on lap 1 after the T1 lottery. After that I did manage to recover quite a bit mainly thanks to penalties but then missed my braking point looking at my radar whilst battling going into the 2nd chicane and after that I was just erratic in the last few laps. Was pretty frustrated with the result after what was a fun race for the most part.

Being a D racer I'm happy when I don't finish last, but I had a good race in Manus. Lexus, started 10th. Screwed up early, down to 18th, but came back to finish 12th. Still for some reason got no K points or whatever those are. I get 400 in one day, then back to 1 today. I'm never getting to C level, hah.

Yay! I wasn't an idiot this time! Unfortunately the race was still pathetic. I got punted at the first hairpin down to 19th after qualifying a terrible 14th. I had a feeling this race wasn't gonna be worth it, and I was right. I barely scraped a top 10 finish (10th) for 120 points. Still not good enough to be worth it, so I'm going again and hoping I can avoid being an idiot for 1 more race...not likely, but I'm gonna try it anyway...

Can someone explain how the points works to me? I've entered quite a few races, the first week, placed top 4 got 20 points, second i placed second, got similar points, and last week I placed 1st and then only got 35 or something points, I'm so lost on how the points work

This is the best explanation I can give. Basically, the higher the collective DR of the room, the higher the available points. :)

Only ran once tonight. Not much practice, so my QT was hot wet garbage. I moved up from 17th to 12th on the first turn, and pecked away the rest of the race. I was as high as 4th, but let the guy pass me because he seemed willing to knock me off the track for it.

Can’t complain with the results.
