Righty-ho! After all the disconnects and what-not, I'm thoroughly confused as to what happened when, so I'll stick to what I can actually remember, with help from video...
Manu EMEA Slot 5:
Door 17, I qualified in
P7 and finished
P4 for a CRB and 59 points, so it was worth racing the final slot after all.
But what was interesting was what the polesitter (another Alfa) did after surrendering the lead, going on a rampage to ruin as many other people's races as he could. He seems to have a decent enough Kudos rating so I don't know quite what brought on such a display:
Manu North America Slot 4:
I qualified my Door 13 Blackhawks-liveried Mustang in
P7 and decided to try to run a no-stopper as I felt the car could just about manage it.
P5 was mine on Lap 3 and I continued to pursue the cars ahead. I was
P4 the following lap, and a penalty ahead led to
P3 on Lap 6. It was by Lap 7 that the tyres started to show serious wear and tighter corners were a real challenge, forcing me to begin braking earlier. I was closing in on the fellow Mustang in front as he had just come out of the pits, but I didn't expect that to last long.
I surprised myself though, as I was still in touch until midway through Lap 9 when he pulled away and I found myself being chased down by a Porsche. Thankfully he didn't do anything stupid at the chicane and he pitted along with the P1 car, so I was up to
P2, wondering if I could hold off cars on fresh tyres for the final two circuits. But as gingerly as I was taking some turns, the 2 freshly-booted cars couldn't make inroads and it was
P2 for me and a Mustang 1-2.

60 points and another CRB.
Here's the final lap in chasecam view to show the struggles I had with 11 lap-old tyres:
