Hi everyone, I am new here.
I did the manufacturer series in slot 1 ytd, got 101 points with a 3rd place finish.
But when I did the Slot 2, the lag got so bad that I had to escape and quit the race (the servers had issues all day)
When I logged into GT Sport and tried to do slot 5, the points earned from slot 1 race disappeared completely.
Any ideas on what happened, and how can I contact PD for this one? I have the slot 1 race replay saved as well.
Thanks!
Unfortunately once you enter a new race in FIA it invalidates your previous race results. Since you were D/C'd it counted as finishing in last place; hence the 0 points. It sucks, but that's the way FIA rules are structured.

I'm not the biggest fan of multiple attempts, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

Manufacturers' North America A/S lobbies

Slot 1 - Q10, finished P9 - uneventful race. Strategy was 6M 5H which ended up being wrong for the Mercedes. But I could tell I had decent pace

Slot 2 - Q17, finished P19 - pretty much a disaster. Qualy lap balked by an out lapper in the middle of the track. Made a few mistakes during the race, and limped home. Strategy was 7M 4H, which I could tell was the better of the 2 attempts so far.

Slot 3 - Q11, finished P6 - great clean and close racing throughout the race. Made up 2 positions on lap one as the top guys sorted each other out. Strategy of 7M 4H worked to perfection as I returned after my pit stop in P6 and had a ding dong back and forth battle with an Aston Martin for the final laps. He got the better of me and we crossed the line in P6 and 7 but were promoted to 5th and 6th by a 20 second penalty ahead of us...

So 125 points after a fun night at Suzuka, which displaces my 114 points from round 1. :D

Got a good result on my 3rd attempt. I had good qualifying pace, but the real test was being able to hold on during the race against cars that were better on tires. Felt like I was under pressure this whole race. When I finally let the M4 behind me go by, he went off at T1 right in front of me and I was pretty relieved, since he was one of the guys who pushed me off in the first race. 244 points ain’t bad for not being able to use the meta-strategy. I actually pitted after 7 and switched to the Hards. Here’s the race.

Manufacturers Suzuka
Well finally I got it together. The McLaren 650S felt so smooth at Suzuka !
As I list 3K DR last session, I was in a slightly lower lobby level but I was very happy to be able to climb the podium.
The rhythm of Suzuka is something that I really love. I have struggled at this track before, but here I came out in the top so check out this race edit of the relevant parts of the race:

I was in that race! I got up to 6th at one point but the almost binned it at 130R. I was able to salvage 8th.

For some reason my manufacture selection was reset so had to re-sign with them. And then for some reason I figured there was one more time slot tonight but I guess I'm super late and missed it. Oh well. :p

I went in country again. Start glitch to rammed off in chicane after getting blocked in qual and crashed into. Should have just floored it like the others instead of trying not to hit.
Caught up on hards by lap? 2? Cayman rammed me off again in chicane...
Back to 19th stayed on hards to lap 4 started catching people lap 5 overtook a group battling 3 of which have rammed me before so that was sweet. Sliced em up!
Umm caught known rammer lap 10 much faster than I thought I would. The opening was there but he ran me off. Great job by him fighting for what eleventh lol.
Fun though and I am learning a lot how to use the handling car opposed to power fr I have always used before. These handling cars are absolute weapons on the right courses. They really drive well now.
Overall a fun day of ups and downs. It wasn’t my day I got punted and rammed what ten times at least?
I learned a lot about how to take advantage of handling strategically looking forward to more races!

Same thing happened to me on Wednesday. I think when they announced the date for the Mazda Vision Gr.3 and said players could switch their manufacturer selection they actually meant everyone would have to sign with one again even if they’d already signed.

Manufacturers 4pm Slot
I didn't post last night as it seemed everyone was having connection issues and other troubles, whereas I'd had one of those races that reminded me why I keep coming back to this game.

Qualifying was very messy. On my outlap a fuel burner swerved across the track as I was passing them giving me a 5 second penalty. Then on my first flyer someone came out of the pits and swerves straight over onto the racing line right in front of me. We had a crash more spectacular than Prost vs. Senna. I was going to post a video but they were very apologetic afterwards so it's all good now. Managed a second flyer and stuck a 2:08.9. My only ever lap in the 8's after all the practice so a great time to pull that out and good enough for 4th on the grid 👍

The early laps are line astern. Then on I think lap 3 the Toyota in front of me messed up the final chicane. It was one of those situations where I could see what was going to happen but felt powerless to do anything about it. They were going to rejoin at 90 degrees to the track right in front of me. I slowed and tried to duck back under them but make contact. Bumper car physics take over and I go to an almost standstill to bouncing off the rev limiter from being hit from behind. Ultimately drop to 6th and now behind a Mercedes. The next several laps are really tense as I can't get past the Merc and there's an Aston behind that was getting into my slipstream. We go back and forward with them closing the gap on the straights and falling back through the corners. Felt like I spent more time looking at the deltas than the track. Nearing the pitstops the Merc spins himself out before the hairpin putting me back behind the Toyota. They pit at the end of lap 9 and I close the gap on a pair of Meganes. They go side by side through 130R enabling me to get past one of them just as we all go into the pits for 1 lap of hard tyres. The final lap was a little scruffy on my part but the Megane isn't ever in a position to attempt a pass and I pick up 3rd place.

It wouldn't have been an entertaining race to watch but it was super tense for me and I loved it :) I actually felt I had the pace to do better but there are too many variables to risk the points I got, and I doubt I'd be able to repeat the qualifying lap so one and done for me!

Lastly - shout out to @sturk0167 for taking the time to make the livery. It's working a treat so far!

Nooooo.

Taking P3.

Very satisfied with the result.

Not one of my best races, my qual lap wasnt great and ended up 9th. My race pace was also slow as i couldnt find a rythm.

Pitted in lap 8 and had a great fight till the end -even though he tapped me out of the way- .I want to apologise to the Renault i hit on lap 3 at the second Degner but i was already on the racing line.

All in all i regret signing with Mclaren
:banghead: :sick::lol:

Tried 3 times the manufacturers yesterday.

1st attempt disconnected.
2nd attempt, ended up towing everyone around on my quali so started 16th and made a few mistakes so ended up 16th. Highlight was the guy I towed around in quali getting pole and winning, so at least I achieved something :)
3rd attempt, slightly better quali but still not very good, started 12th (0.5 secs behind 3rd). In race ran wide at spoon and lost about 3 seconds, which dropped me back into traffic. Had a nice little battle with a Cayman towards the end, but ended up 12th.

Poor night tbh, still struggling to get the hang of the new load cell brake. Going to give it one more attempt and then it is probably going back in the box as I think it just requires too much pressure to work well with my playseat challenge (I think it flexes too much so I keep out braking myself or I adapt and brake too early)

I would have gotten 2nd last night but bleeping killed myself attempting to get revenge on a dive bomber. I need to leave revenge for others but it pisses me off when I get shoved around constantly for proper braking and taking the racing line.
I’ve been saying for a while now that exacting revenge is a fools game. If it’s deliberate or a genuine mistake or not, it doesn’t matter, just give that guy a wide berth and let him run himself out of track.

Has anyone done any practice for Red Bull Ring? I’ve done a custom race using the same settings (5.30pm Rain), but my lap times are 4 seconds quicker than they are in normal practice? I can’t see what I’m doing wrong. No where near as wet and slippery as the normal practice! Thought I was giving the aliens a lesson for a while even with heavy wet tires

You need to have Track Edge Grip set to Real and not Low, not sure if you can do that offline or not, I know you can in a lobby though. :)

Ahhh ok that explains it. Will have another try tomorrow if I get time! Thanks :)

[Original post lost after some sort of site glitch!]

Righty-ho! After all the disconnects and what-not, I'm thoroughly confused as to what happened when, so I'll stick to what I can actually remember, with help from video...

Manu EMEA Slot 5:

Door 17, I qualified in P7 and finished P4 for a CRB and 59 points, so it was worth racing the final slot after all.

But what was interesting was what the polesitter (another Alfa) did after surrendering the lead, going on a rampage to ruin as many other people's races as he could. He seems to have a decent enough Kudos rating so I don't know quite what brought on such a display:

Manu North America Slot 4:

I qualified my Door 13 Blackhawks-liveried Mustang in P7 and decided to try to run a no-stopper as I felt the car could just about manage it. P5 was mine on Lap 3 and I continued to pursue the cars ahead. I was P4 the following lap, and a penalty ahead led to P3 on Lap 6. It was by Lap 7 that the tyres started to show serious wear and tighter corners were a real challenge, forcing me to begin braking earlier. I was closing in on the fellow Mustang in front as he had just come out of the pits, but I didn't expect that to last long.

I surprised myself though, as I was still in touch until midway through Lap 9 when he pulled away and I found myself being chased down by a Porsche. Thankfully he didn't do anything stupid at the chicane and he pitted along with the P1 car, so I was up to P2, wondering if I could hold off cars on fresh tyres for the final two circuits. But as gingerly as I was taking some turns, the 2 freshly-booted cars couldn't make inroads and it was P2 for me and a Mustang 1-2. 60 points and another CRB.

Here's the final lap in chasecam view to show the struggles I had with 11 lap-old tyres:

I just noticed that I'm not DR S anymore, despite having met the requirements for it in the last preseason. Am I supposed to re-register after every season/preseason?

I had to re register this season, my S was gone until I did.
And apparently I didn't meet the requirements...it told me so when I tried to re-register. I was in the Top 140 in the NA region last season in Nations, so I shouldn't have lost it.

I really, really... dislike that RCZ. Really.

Edit: Jeez... should have known a French car would be the car of "Cup" choice.
ET2y97hUMAAkXqs

Edit: Should have had the race at Route X. The two cars ahead of me, got the spots on the last two laps. A black car nudged me, got me unsettled and messed up the rhythm of the car for my positioning. I think it was the same car that was foot to the floor, on the grass and hit me on the side, causing me to hit a player off.

Watching the "TAGHeuer MATCHING BEGINS IN 13:12...11...10...9...8...7..." was more fun.

Any set up tips for the RCZ rally car? It's a twisty-turny nightmare on tarmac for me. I already have TC, BB+5. Not sure what to do about Torque.

Can I assume there's no point in picking anything other than the RCZ for tonight? I even got given one today for my birthday car (a week late) so I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be in anything else anyway

I didn't enjoy using the RCZ when testing. So I used the Toyota GT86 and didn't stop. But I am a DR B and a bit slow!!

0 BB gives you plenty of trail braking anything between 40-60 to 30-70 is fine for the race depending on how tail happy you like the car. Tire wear will be relatively even front to back.
Thanks.

I'll be back to haunt you if (and when)it all goes horribly wrong!!!:D

[Cuts eyeholes in a white sheet]

Qualified P17 of 19. Guess I'll be just waiting for carnage in front! Different car for future attempts, for sure!

A slower car is a faster car if you drive it better.

Suggestion for anyone DR A and under: pit. You'll make up a lot of time. I'm going again and hopefully won't die under pressure next time.
