Messed up my qual as i decided to try wets and ended up 17th. Then the struggle started in order to gain some positions with IMs.

For the most part the race was ok bar one major tap that hindered my progress. Most of the guys were respectful and tried to avoid contacts, the total opposite of dailys.

As it was my first time racing in the rain i quite liked it and the Macca wasnt as piggy as usual.

Last nights race has now put me within 3600 points of 60k and for the first time ever, it actually looks like it could be possible now. :)

I wasn't going to race tonight, but after messing around in a lobby and having fun I thought I would give the last split of the night a try.
Unfortunately I ended up in top split with a ton of MR cars and drivers like Tidgney and Lightning, I assume a lot of FR drivers weren't doing this round.

I knew I wasn't really in their league so I thought I would just go for a couple of clean laps and try to stay out of the slipstreaming chaos (really didn't want to mess up a proper drivers quali), so only managed a 1:39.9 which put me in 17th(Bottled my 2nd lap when I was a couple of tenths up).

Race might have gone differently for me if I hadn't been passed by a Jag at the 2nd tight corner, pushing me onto the kerb which allowed a GTR to get past (dropping me back to 19th). After that I spent the whole race stuck to his bumper, completely unable to find a way past him. He made a couple of minor errors that allowed me to get alongside, but the grunt of the GTR meant I never really got close enough going into any braking zones.

Tidgney won by a country mile, and I got 14th after a few people ahead had incidents. Fun race even if I never actually managed to overtake anyone :)

I was watching that bud and I think your doing yourself down, you were keeping up with them and in those conditions I think that's dam good. Well done bud 14th in top split is no easy feat regardless of what happens.

I don't post race videos often, but this was a good one. Thanks to the majority of the field having a crappy qualifying session I got lucky and started 7th in the race, then my trusty Porsche was OP in the wet and allowed me to stay competitive with some aliens. The first few laps were super exciting and finishing a few tenths behind Deafsun is a victory for a non-alien like me.

It's nice to be in the OP car. :dopey:

I be using my MX-5 TC in the S-FR Cup. At the moment, I'm 1.5 seconds off the top 10 time. With an optimum that sees me 1.2 seconds closer.

It didn't do too bad in the N200 race at Lago. Higher top speed of the MX-5 may help me again on Saturday.

Back to that Lap 1, Turn 3 incident. After the race, the Porsche driver who'd been tapped into a spin by the other (black) Ford, called me out for a *** move.
...
He told me to watch the replay which of course I have. I messaged him to see if he'd watched it and as yet, almost 2 hours later, I've had no reply. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he's busy racing other slots to try to finish better than the P10 I think he finished in. He's obviously made a genuine mistake thinking it was my Ford which hit him (easily done) but I'm certainly due an apology. If I get that, I'll be perfectly happy to accept...
Just to draw a line under this one, I sent a follow-up message as Kudos showed he'd driven since the race in question. He replied simply that he'd sent an apology, though I haven't received it. But I'm happy to take that reply as an apology in itself, brief as it was. 👍
Not being able to see a replay before apportioning blame is always going to be a problem.

I hope this weekend isn't my only experience of racing at Goodwood this year. We are due back at Revival again after a great time in 2018. I was on the Best Dressed catwalk (and ITV4) on that occasion. :D

After a handful of laps' practice (mostly at Goodwood), I'm under 3.7 and 4 s off the top times. Not too bad for me. The Alfa flies round, but that's half the problem - it flies when it grabs a bit too much dirt! The Mustang is more stable, if a bit slower round the corners. And I certainly look to be joining the sheep at Goodwood - in terms of choosing the Toyota - there are no sheep grazing in the in-field!

Tried the following cars for the Goodwood N200 race:

- Abarth Biposto
- Alfa 4C
- Alpine (new & old)
- Audi TT (new & old)
- Ferrari Dino
- NSX-R
- Stratos
- Miata (new, old & TC)
- FC RX7
- RX500
- Porsche 356
- Porsche 911 Carrera RS
- 86 GRMN
- SFR (non racing version)

NONE of them came close to the best lap I set in the SFR Racing. The closest one is the 911 but even that is still 1 sec off (probably could get it down to half sec if I had more practice). The SFR's downforce is just too beneficial for those high speed corners as it can just lift, whereas other cars need to brake more and negates any top speed advantage it has (if any).

Yep, it's gonna be another SFR slipstream train...

Hit the chicane on my second qualy lap. Started 15/19.

MX-5 is competitive(well I was). Least tyre wear of everyone in my race. Some had worse wear than others. So, satisfied with this result. Might have finished around 8th, 9th or 10th. Just had an off going side by side and also having to slow down for a congestion, after another car was recovering.

Clean, fair racing, by all those around me. Players gave room and didn't pounce or force an issue on other's mistakes. One and done.

Did a practice lobby with @watto79 and improved my FP time ahead of a possible 16:00 entry. Noticed while in FP that I was experiencing slow load times and that my follower count has (hopefully temporarily) been reset to '0'.

More network issues?

EDIT: Full follower count is showing up again - guess it was only temporarily.

Yeah me too. Seems like online users really peaks for FIA's (unsurprisingly). I'll keep trying until 4pm but if I can't get on will leave it until one of the later slots.

That was actually quite a fun, if chaotic, race. Good to get practice races in like that so you can see where people tend to make mistakes.

Can't reconnect, been playing all day trying to get my SR up for FIA just for the network to say FU... Been trying to reconnect for 15 minutes, the web sites down also. Come on PD sort your servers out its pathetic...
PlayStation network is struggling full stop looks like the whole of Germany is overloaded and the UK where I am too.
The annoying thing is I had been on for 7 hours waiting for the 4 o'clock race, am close to giving up with this game for good its just frustrating, if its not the servers its the joke of a penalty system. This games not good for my mental health.

Same here (Europe).
Did anyone experience this issue recently? Does it improve for later slots? FIA seemed to work fine for me earlier this week, I raced in 1st slots for both series.
I guess a lot of demand these days... Looking forward to seeing updated Kudos Prime numbers.

Edit: I'm in for race 2.
Have a good one everybody!

Any pointers to get me into the 1:15's in the McLaren 650S?
My biggest struggle is the line up and around the water tank on the little crest. Then doen the hill and the left turn in 4th gear to not scrub speed off for the high speed corners to the end.
