I swear if they nerf my car mid season for the 2nd season in a row I’m gonna be 🤬 pissed!

Kaz has a target on your back. You’ve been doing far too well lately in FIA.

""Handling adjustments for all Gr.2, Gr.3, and Gr.4 cars""

This to me sounds like the introduction of a new racing tyre model.....Michelin influenced no doubt

This makes a lot of sense given the breadth of incoming tweaks listed. Hope it ends up being true!

I suspect not, as you'd think that would affect all cars, and also you'd think they'll want to make quite a fuss about it when Michelin's influence on tyre modelling does get incorporated.

I think this announcement is timed to make up for the disaster that was last nights FIA in EMEA more than a response to lack of youtube content. The proposed boycott didnt really happen and most content creators carried on as normal tbh.

As for whither it's a new tyre model. Yep just speculating but they have till between now and its release to build the hype with announcements and videos if it is the case. Maybe it is just a BOP change but fact they say all cars in gr 2,3 and 4 will have handling adjustments makes it seem a bit more.

Either way I'm looking forward to this update very much.

I take the fuel consumption, tyre wear thing to be a way to stop fuel burning. Basically switch them both off and people will not have to do 1 burn lap, pit and then go for it. Combine it with a nerf to slipstream distance in quali (say reduce it to 0.5 secs) and that will solve the quali issues a lot of the top lobbies have at the moment. I'm not too concerned with slipstream in the race tbh, might be unrealistic but keeps races closer than they would be otherwise (Drop it to say 1 second and see what people say).

For the BoP thing, the pug gr.4 needs a bit of help, and so does the renault ff gr.4 car. Audi and VW are just about ok on some tracks, so they don't need too much help. But maybe they are going to balance out the tyre wear on the ff cars, so the rears wear quicker but the fronts a little slower - it's all it would really take. Bringing fuel consumption closer together will help, but hopefully they will leave a little bit of difference between them. New handling models/tyre models are fine, we will all just adapt unless they are truly terrible.

I suppose we will just have to wait and see :)

There has been a huge shift among the people I subscribe to. I can't recall a single one of the esports alternatives to real races using GT Sport. I think ACC coming to console and currently being played on PC by so many youtubers who have in the past mainly played GTS has to be hugely concerning for PD.

I think the update is in response to a lot of things the community has been talking about for a while now. The size and scope of the update has had to have taken a fair amount of time to work out and implement. Let's just hope they don't screw it up. *coughs in the last several penalty updates*

Cant say I'm really seeing the same thing tbh. The only person I know off that played GTS then went to ACC for a while was fatalvaska and thats because he got banned for a period. He is back streaming GTS today. Every other youtuber and twitcher I watch are still streaming GT just as regularly as ever from what I can see.

Yeah no doubt this has been getting worked on for a while and is a result of community complaints and issues with the game.

By timing I mean they have released the plan today to get the community talking about something other than the disaster that was last nights FIA.

Tbf it's worked if that's the case

Finding that it's only the FIA races I get kicked out of. Dailies seem fine. Only had one issue in Race C where it showed the cars in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th behind me to be 14th, 15th, and 16th. No idea how that managed to happen but it fixed itself after a couple of laps

I got kicked or odd my FIA yesterday. Practiced until the next race C# got kicked out before I saw the lobby. Turned the game off.

Round 4 Willow Springs
After skipping the rainy Red Bull race, I was excited to do this race in the desert. I opted for a two stops (Thanks @Winnie847) with just 3 laps on the slower compound (medium). It really worked well. I have never really had a race on this track and it has never been a favorite for me but I felt the McLaren was very strong on this track especially on the straights as I was chasing down the people on a different strategy.
Not a stellar result in the end but fastest time and some solid gains. More importantly I really enjoyed the race and chasing down of the slower cars.

*cries in Mazda*
You already know this, but with the current multiplier, the last race wasn't bad. I thought I'd be left for dead at Willow, but the Atenza was competitive. I was on for a fantastic result due to my tyre performance and fuel reserve.

However, yes, I've got tissues at the ready, just in case.

One and done for Nations.

As someone posted after the race, "Who was the idiot at the chicane?". That blue Slophy just ruined my first stint.
I was on RS and planning to get around a Slophy conserving or on RMs. I got a run towards the chicane. I'm on the outside ahead, but giving room. I see another Slophy on the kerb inside before the chicane. Like seriously. It's Lap 2-3. The blue one knocks the other one unit me and was also a bit aggressive before that.

Just changed my strategy and drive around til the end. 11th to 16th.👎

I didn't even mind all the Slophys. I just wanted to see what the Supra could do.

The biggest shock was qualifying 2.6 seconds slower than Free Practice. I'd much rather have tyre and fuel wear on, to gauge real time performance.

Is anyone not picking the Trophy today?
I'm not doing the race, but I've done some races against the AI with the same race settings, with the Trophy, Jag and McLaren, and I don't think the Trophy is as OP as many people think it is. I did faster total race times and faster fastest laps with the other two, but maybe I'd go even faster in the Trophy if I went back to that now.

I gave the Evo a try. It was nice and manoeuvrable, but I couldn't handle how badly it died in 5th gear. The tyre wear didn't seem great either, though I didn't run it for very long. I tried the GT-R in a race when this combo was in the dailies a few weeks ago, large nope obviously. I had no idea what today's race was and was a bit disappointed when I came home today and saw it, so I'll just jump in the Renault and see what happens.

1st slot disconnected, what else....
I didn't bother with rounds three or four at all because of the server issues, which means that after being disconnected every time in round one I have very few points, and haven't had a chance to build my SR back up from Teslageddon.

Gr.4s at Nurburgring GP? Christ, I may as well put bulldog clips on my nads for all the fun that's going to be at SR A and with wonky connections.

My apologies if this is in the wrong place, but I am frequently confused by the 'pit tyre requirements' in the Nations Cup. Can someone please confirm to me whether I need to run both soft AND medium during the current race to avoid a penalty? Or whether I can run either exclusively? Many thanks in advance.

I have a slightly irrational hatred of the Slophy. I tried some practice laps in the WRX last night. We'll see.

Yes, you do have to use both. If you open the race details you'll see required tires under the Pit Info section:

Many thanks for the help, I thought that might be the case, but wanted to double-check
