I'm expecting PD to come out with an announcement tomorrow, like the outage that happened around 9 days ago...

I mean the stress was there from the first race, unsure if this would help solve any problems
Race 1 would remain as busy, but if all of those who got in can't race again it should lighten the pressure on servers as we progress through the night right?

Just got disconnected after qualifying in 5th. Waste of time. Surprised it even got that far. Took 35 seconds to release me from the pits to start qualifying. Was just sat revving my engine!

If race 1 suffers a disconnect though, all hell would break loose on the other splits.
The only way I could see this working is if they gave you 1 chance in FIA but still keeping the 5 splits with a small twist: you have to decide on your split a day beforehand. If PD could figure out how many people can the servers take, they can "limit" the number of entries per split and make them unavailable to enter once the threshold has been reached.

Edit: just got a new error

anyone else got that?

don't know, stopped trying after three attempts. will race again only once I know they have the issues sorted.
least they can do is to do this round again once/if all is sorted. but assume they won't bother!?

Issue is also in the Dailies atm, can't even enter any of them. I assume they might be working to fix it

The first time I ever did an FIA race, when we are first given the times available, I thought that's what we'd have to do: pick a slot. Would make sense.

I mean I can't see why they can't do it. Forces drivers to be more careful since it's one chance only.
Can you enter the FIA race atm or are you getting the NoMpsServer error?

And just to top this day off, power cuts so if the server comes back on I'll miss it lol

I've done my Manu race yesterday. A few pages before this one.

I mean I’m not really into these FIA but pre multiple chances was a thousand percent better in the ones I’ve done.
Small sample size.

looks like there are less issues in NA region....at least the top 2 splits seem to have loaded without issue (minus some people getting the pit bug)
👍 Thanks for the heads up. NA players are all doing the CV500, Dirty Beetle, smokenchill, or Dual Drift Bros lobby.

Yeah, it mainly seems to be an EMEA issue when it comes to FIAs in particular.

Ok, I don't know what it is about this track but today has been a day of practicing pretty good, qualifying poorly and racing even worse. I'm on the verge of dropping to DR.C but something about me is determined to do decently at this race today. Maybe I'll just keep dropping DR to the point of getting a lobby so slow I can just run away from everyone...

Man, what a night! First race of the evening started off poorly, I went for 2 hot laps and caught up to fuel burners who didn’t wanna move on the first lap and then again caught up to someone on the 2nd attempt. Ended up starting DFL, P19. It turned out to be a great race in the end though and I made up a ton of positions to finish P5. But I knew with a good Q I could do better, so I decided to try again.

The second race went much better. Found a nice draft in Q and put down a 15.9 for P2 on the grid. The race started and a few of us broke away from the pack after a while. A bit of jostling for position let the leader get away and I spent the last half of the race chasing an NSX for P2, I couldn’t catch him though and settled for P3 this time.

Overall it was a great night of racing and the DR is now at 59.3k, soooooo close. :)

Only ran one slot tonight -- the result was my best points ever, so I'll take it.

I qualified 3rd after fuel burning for 2 laps. I decided to hot lap on my own because I didn't know anyone in the room, and sometimes that's safer IMO.

On the first lap, people were sloppy on their cold tires, and I took a limits penalty somehow after getting bumped. Served that on the front straight and was down to 6th. On the next lap, I was stupid and got a wheel off on the last turn, and ended up in the dirt for awhile and was down to P10. I passed a couple people on the next lap, and then got dive bombed on the last turn and had to slam the brakes not to hit the dirt. Finished the turn at 100mph, and ended up in 12th after the straight. After that, I just raced what I practiced -- I was careful with fuel, ran consistent laps, and let the people in front of me mess up. People started pitting, and I got some clean air to be able to build a little bit of a gap up, and then pitted after lap 10 in P2. I came out in P6, and slowly picked off the others to finish P3 at the end.

Good race management sometimes is better than being fast, as my fastest lap was middle of the pack in the room, and I doubt I had the pace to keep up with the guys who finished ahead of me. On to Autopolis.

Well, my DR is about as low as it can get without actually dropping to C. I'm done for the night, I can't do this to myself anymore. No matter how low I get my practice lap time, no matter how many clean practice laps I put in, something always seems to happen in the race where I lose something like 20 sec or more. Bumpy drivers, stupid penalties, my own stupidity, all of the above.

Do you ever run practice races in the lobbies? That has improved my performance more than anything else. The physics are different during the race vs. free practice because of fuel weight and tire wear. Lobby practice is exactly what it'll feel like in the race, and you can practice strategies too. Just something that might help, if you haven't tried it yet.

Edit: quick example...

I one stopped tonight on lap 10 after knowing that I needed to short shift to save fuel and tires.

In my first practice race lobby, I ran out of fuel on lap 7, and ended up having to two stop.

I do. Some races more than others. Today I did some lobby racing but not as much as usual. Honestly, I think it's more just one of those things with me and the track. It was the same way with Laguna Seca for a while, it eventually got better.

Second race - I don’t know what’s worse: having the rolling start glitch out or someone being a sore loser by purposefully taking out the brake boards. :banghead:

Anyway, two stop didn’t work well this time. Started 10th and finished 15th.

Third race - Managed to get pole but it was short lived. I binned it at some point in the middle of the race and placed 7th. I also tried the one stop but it didn’t feel like the way to go.

Fourth race - Qualified 6th. Decided to try the two stop again but with fuel saving by short shifting this time. I did 8S/3M/7S. Things were going pretty well, until I came out of the pits after my second stint and another car brushed against mine right when I unghosted, giving me a 2 second penalty. Just an unfortunate incident. As a result, I placed 7th...again. I beat my first score, but only slightly. This night wasn't meant to be I guess.

This season has given me lifetime highs for points back to back when in the 86. I dread Monza, but it’s been so good to me thus far.

Managed a P3 start from a surprisingly good qualifying that lacked any proper slipstream. During the race my goal was to just stick with the lead pack, short shift to save fuel, and not fight. Worked out really well as a quad of us pulled away from the rest and created a really sizable gap. Eventually pitted on lap 10 following the 86 in front of me. I could’ve done 11 but the M4 in the lead was just far enough away that I feared losing the slipstream. It worked out well in the end as I came out ahead from the pits and was able to jockey between p2/p3 for the last 8 laps without losing time.

Thought it was for sure a P3 finish but the 86 ahead of me ran out of fuel right before the line and I snagged P2. Best finish yet for me!

Why do I always have a potato of a car whenever Willow is on the schedule?

Grant you, I could've managed something with a better qualifying spot. Unfortunately, I lost out on the slipstream qualifying lottery system yet again.
