I am most annoyed over the message in the bottom left corner "server is working normally" all night, while nothing works at all. All four FIA slots was impossible to join.
Since there is absolutely no way to communicate with PD I will voice my discontent by demanding a discount on my ps+ with Sony. This is the second week this hasn't worked. At all.
And while I do understand that there is a massive increase in traffic last week and last Wednesday should have prepared PD for this.

I did race and finsh 1st slot yesterday, but do not see any FIA points for manu round 4 .
RD. 1 267
RD. 2 -
RD. 3 284
RD. 4 -
Anyone else (I think @Lost Sheltie was also in the same race)?

Yeah I was in the 1st slot of the day with you and no points are showing for me as well. I think that race was glitched as 1 guy mentioned the game didn't count 1 of his laps, but didn't think about it until I tried to check my points :)

Shame because I was quite happy with the race, qualified 1st with a 1:15.6 and finished 4th behind 3 GT-86's after 1 mistake and a little bit of lag.

Fuel Consumption & Tyre Wear Rate for Qualifying & Final
・It will be possible to set ‘Fuel Consumption’ and ‘Tyre Wear’ rates separately in the Qualifying Time Trials and Finals of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships.
This also seems interesting, should put an end to fuel burning laps as well I guess or make it more of a "one shot quali" with horrendous tyre wear multipliers

Is this a server-side update or a client-sided one?

If you were to make a list of the most common complaints with the game right now (disconnects aside) it would pretty much be this.

Good to see from PD and hope they roll out this update soon so that we have a chance to make an informed decision before choosing a new manufacturer.

I'll be frank. I regret picking Porsche for the manufacturer series. I been killing it in the Nations Cup but I've been an absolute dog with luck and poor race craft in the Manufacturer Series. I think last night was the final straw for me.

For me it was Jaguar and now I won't touch one with a ten foot pole... balanced and easy but really lacking in pace

I swear if they nerf my car mid season for the 2nd season in a row I’m gonna be 🤬 pissed!

well reading the link above we can change manufacturers on the 21st of April. If the Renault isn't nerfed I think I might switch to them. Watching both nations and manufacturers (at least GR.4) they seem to be towards the top of the time sheets while having very easy wear. I'd do Toyota but I can't stand driving the Gr.3 Supra. The rear just brakes loose at the last moment of corner exit and it makes me feel uneasy.

The Trophy isn't a real Gr 4, that's why. Maybe they will reflect it in this update so the proper Gr 4 Renault will be the Mégane.

So it's basically the British Corvette now?
Exiting news indeed. Will be very interested in how stuff is implemented.
I wonder if this means Famine will be able to use their Gr.4 Mazda now? I'm not at all confident in that penalty update at this point. It'll probably penalize you for flashing headlights at someone at this point. Fool me one, shame on you. Fool me 4 times...

About setting tyre wear rates, is that going to allow for the choice of scrubbed tyres or sticker tyres, before the start of a race?

Another thing about the tyres, I posted in the livery thread, my new Supra Gr.4 livery got placed on another player's Supra as I watched their Free Practice replay. It had the Pirelli branding on their car. When I checked my replay, the wheels I had were black, but were rendered silver. My car didn't have the tyre branding, but that was an intersting glitch.

Wonder if this update will bring tyre branding as well.

""Handling adjustments for all Gr.2, Gr.3, and Gr.4 cars""

This to me sounds like the introduction of a new racing tyre model.....Michelin influenced no doubt

I honestly pray that it's not the same tire model as Iracing's V7 that they're bricks and terrifying to drive the first two laps and it takes like 6 laps to get heat into them to be remotely comfortable pushing for lap times.

The replay/livery thing has happened for a while if you’re in the same car, You’re Livery always shows up on their car.

I suspect not, as you'd think that would affect all cars, and also you'd think they'll want to make quite a fuss about it when Michelin's influence on tyre modelling does get incorporated.

It's not clear exactly what this means, but hoping it means you can set your fuel for qualifying. It sounds like it might also mean you can have tyre wear and fuel consumption for the time trial, which would give that mode an actual purpose 👍

The wording is a bit weird and ambiguous

I'm taking it to mean you can choose to practise with the relevant tyre and fuel multipliers in the practise section if you want to. Whither qualifying will now be without the multipliers is less clear tbh

Lol @watto79 literally said same thing at same time

Thing is, the tyre's sidewall should be black. Not with the branding. When I exited out of Free Practice and checked again, that player used a default livery. If that meant the tyres stay the same no matter what livery, it's weird that my own car doesn't keep the tyre branding.

We can only speculate about what has driven this, but I'm betting that youtubers spending a lot more time creating content for other games hasn't had as little impact as some people said it would.

I think this is exactly it. It's almost impossible to find GTS content on YT right now, outside of the occasional FIA livestream.

Whatever it is I hope it makes them more suited to my driving style. I get my best results in Gr. 1, open-wheelers, and surprisingly Gr. B. My performances in Gr.3 and Gr. 4 races are way too track-dependent and consequently I score noticeably fewer points in the Manufacturers races than I do in Nations cup, especially since all the tracks I like are rarely ever used. I'm not sure if it was the last tire-model update, or if there was a change to the matching algorithm in the Daily Races, but I had a much easier time racing at the front of the field when I first got the game, even after reaching DR A. Now most of the time I'm mid-pack in the Dailies, even though I have an overall win total of over 200. Even if this update doesn't give me my "mojo" back in the Gr.3 and Gr. 4 cars, just making them more fun to drive would make this game way more playable for me.

Also, I wonder if they're also going to reduce the "dirty air" effect when they reduce the slipstream effect, because the OP slipstream was really the only way to even try to overtake someone at some tracks once you lost downforce following the car behind. It felt like all cars were modern F1 cars without DRS.
