I hadn't really raced the Kart before and almost didn't enter the three Nations Cup races yesterday. I'm glad I did! Each one was fast-paced, exciting and for the most part, clean (I was nudged into the wall twice, but it might have been an accident or not enough caution on my part). Definitely a contender for most fun online GTS experience so far! I came 3rd, 7th and 4th.

I recorded my three races:

I have never raced karts before either, so I was hesitant, but it was hella fun after you adjust to the sensitivity of the wheel. The karts are manic... slinging it into the first turn then trying like crazy not to spin when you apply the throttle, then trying to catch your breath when setting up for the fast turn at the back, over the hump, with 'just enough' throttle to not spin it over the crest, then mash it into the hairpin for the last complex... what a fun track. I blew 8th place from 15th, having driven a perfect clean race, until the last turn! But I'd enjoy more karting races now that I've gotten the hang of it one time anyway.

I’ve gone back to BMW and have chosen the M6 this time instead of the Z4. I loved the Z4 and had some good results. Already regretting not picking it again just by seeing that you guys have picked it

Ah nice! Good to hear that you had some good results in the Z4.

The M6 is a good stable car that performs well, you'll enjoy it. I used the M6 for 2 FIA seasons.

Can someone explain the points in the manufacture series. I finished 3rd, 11th and 13th. Why is it I only received 6 points??? How are other racers getting 3 digit scores/ my son finished 2nd, 14th and 11th and he ended up with 16 points. It doesn't make since. I mean I finished 4th in the first race and was only given 4pts.

The points are based on the average DR score for the room. I’m going to guess those are DR D/E rooms. Three digit scores start in Mid B rooms — they average around 100-110 points for the win.

You can increase DR by placing well in Sport Mode races, and you can check out more detail about your DR at https://www.kudosprime.com/gts/stats.php?profile=search

The points in an FIA lobby are proportional to the average DR score of all the drivers in that lobby. If you're getting four points for a 4th place, it's likely your DR is very low.

Also only your last race counts for each round.

Finished 10th for round 1 at Suzuka. Think I could have finished higher if i went with RS at the end to pass up the train of cars ahead of me. NSX felt a tad bit more understeer on turn in after the update. Always had the brake balance set to 0 but looks like i may have to set it towards the rear now to get more effective trail braking.

Nations, Maggiore

EMEA

B/S races

Slot 1:

Highlights (5 minutes)

P17 start. Largely stayed out of touble for a P14 finish and 28 pts.

Slot 2:

Highlights (6 minutes):

P16 start. P10 by the end of Lap 6. Then, running in P8 at the end of the pit straight on Lap 16, I began to pass the Russian but was tagged by the Spaniard on the other side and into the wall! A Frenchman hit me and I was rammed into the grass at the end of Lap 22. P9 to P11. The Russian then pushed me sideways into the wall at the beginning of the following lap, rather than let me make the pass. He told me to die in chat afterwards because "u hit me"!!!!🤬 P12 finish and 32 pts.

Slot 3:

Highlights (4 minutes):

Started P17. P11 became P8 after a 4 kart demolition derby in front of me on Lap 12. Passed the survivor of that the following lap. Finished P10 for 37 pts and CRB.

North America

Slot 1:

This was never going to be a big points payout, having been droped to my lowest DR since day 2 of my alt account due to a succession of ridiculously dirty race Bs which I'd been hoping to boost my rankings with ahead of this race! Started C/D, though I had been C/E earlier in the day, including losing 1300 DR points from a disconnect.:banghead:

Highlights (7 minutes):

P9 start. I was then bullied during the race by two American karts whose sole response to a better driver was contact. P4 by lap 5, with the bullies occupying the spots right behind me. Took P3 but bully 2 did everything to get it back. But he was outdriving himself (bless!) and P2 was mine on Lap 12, and I kept it till the end for just 19 pts and a CRB. Back to B/S at least.

Thanks, It's hard to raise your DR when you keep getting punted by idiots that don't care. They just drive through to get the finish. They also don't get the penalties. I got door bashed by someone, and I got the 1.5sec penalty. Not fair!!!!!!

Stage 1 Round 1 - Suzuka
Its just the last year that I have been comfortable with this tarck, and I think this is the first time I race this as A driver.
I did a low 2.07 in practice and I was happy with that as that was 3s behind the #1 alien and that pace normally gives a good race.
The McLaren 650S felt great on the track and I managed to clinch a 4th place on the grid with 3 Porsches in front. All drivers in this race were A level drivers so I had my work cut out for me..
As we came into the first turn, all of the front runners went wide except for the leader and I barely saved the race as I went on the inside, or it would have been tears.
Check it out. It was scary. But then I just put my head down and went to work .... to finish 2nd. So a great start on the race.

I am another new BMW driver this season. Scored 185 at Suzuka in 1st round. The M4 feels quite good to me but had to do a lot of short shifting to make fuel. Didn't really seem to hurt the lap time too much. Picked the M6 Power for Gr3 which will take a bit of work to get to grips with.

Pretty new to this FIA races, I would say it was my real first try to be part of it.

Managed to pull out one Nations Cup race, which was fun but ended up in too many mistakes. Performed a sad 16th Quali - 18th in the race finish, also I was able to be in the Top 10 before I lost my talent and then the wheels on the asphalt.

Manufactors Cup gave me two oppurtunites, the first race with the BMW contract was similar to the Kart, started and finished on 14th position.

2nd race was more decent - starting 16th I decided to alternate the strategy and rolled with Hard tires to the start. Gained two positions, went to the box after Lap 1 and made 7 laps on Medium. Did go well as I went to the box for my Soft tires and a splash and dash. Inlap 14th, outlap 17th I started to intercept the field. Unfortunately I had some problems to overtake hard defending co-racers, but finished the race at P11. After the penalties were given I even went up to P9. To be honest I'm not too unhappy with that result

What really fills up my heart are the statistics about that day I just found. It's not worth a penny, but I am with that result the 2nd fastest driver in my 1,5 Million city and even the best one being a old man

you can do huge fuel saving short shifts in the m4 and it is basically no slower at all than if you rev it out

We’ve all been there bud, we know the frustrations your experiencing. Forget race wins for now, concentrate on getting your SR to S rank by avoiding penalties and bumping at all costs!!! This will mean leaving the crazies to it and taking home top 10s even if you know you are faster. Once your past “the grind” you will find the racing gets better and you will be able to get more out of it. Keep track of you DR on the GTS app or google Kudos Prime. Good luck .
Also if you can, avoid race B, it’s always rough and ready as it’s such a short race.

Unsurprising to see the GT-R for the Hot Lap on Red Bull Ring but I was going to go with that anyway, my previous record is a 1:31 but with the new update I am sure I will clock at least a 1:30 possibly a 1:29.

Very surprising to see the 4C around ze Gardens for the hot lap video, have to do my test session to see but I know both tracks very well since I've been grinding the heck out of DT Gardens with the VGT in offline mode of late.

So 1st Round both Nations and Manufacturer Cup.

Plan was to get a decent "banker" result in the kart race in the 1st slot and then focus on the Manu race at Suzuka.

Rd1 - Nations Cup

In free practice I managed a 49.3, enough to break into top200 EMEA, by far my best result in any practice.

During quali, I was unlucky with the slipstream so I only got on P5. Start was good and I was quickly part of the top6 group that manage to break away from the rest. But after lap7-8 the diving started in first corner and last chicane - at least 1-2 drivers doing the same thing every lap. After 4-5 laps getting pushed around I was fed up playing clean and got my elbows out. Few laps before the finish, we remained just 5 in front. Last 2 turns I was in 3rd, but the leader pushed the Spaniard in Front of me in the wall - leaving me with a good 2nd position and 106p. This was enought to put me 2nd in the Romanian leaderboards - but the heavy hitters did not enter this race.

So, mission accomplished then moved in Manufacturers for Suzuka in the Alfa.

1st slot - Manufacturer's cup

Good quali, I put my Blue Alfa second on the grid. In front, was the same Spaniard from the previous race, the one that was pushed in the wall in the last corner, in a Scirocco.
Behind me was a red Ferrari and a White Mazda. I started on Softs, but the VW managed to get away after 2 laps. The Ferrari and Mazda was pressuring me, recovering on the straights what I was gaining during the twisty bits. In 3rd lap, Ferrari overtook me in T1, but he was slower during the esses. At the double right hander he took a wider line and 2 wheels on the sand and I pushed through in the 2nd turn. He managed to get it back on the track, but we touched and he again got two wheels out of the road - losing the 3rd place in favour of the Mazda. But he got mad, and in the hairpin he bumped the Mazda and pinball physics took care of me. Lost about 7 positions, and then pushed too hard getting back. Messed up twice and had to settle for 13th.

2nd slot - mediocre quali only good enough for P10 on the grid. Started on mediums and planned for 5 safe laps on them. Almost lost it in T1 on cold tyres but managed to save it but then started to climb as people made mistakes. I was in P5 when I pitted for Hards - got out in P7 and pitted again in the next lap for Softs. Got out in P13 but climbed up to P8 next lap as people made their first pit. I was behind a Dane in an grey SLS and we had 4 laps of close, hard and fair racing. Again, what I gained in the corners lost on the straights - as the Mercedes was able to pull away even when I had the slipstream. In the end I overtook him when he got a 0.5s penalty and at the end of the same lap got up to P4 after people pitted. Distance to top3 was around 10s but end of the lap12 both cars in front pitted and I was again in 2s range, with them on Hard tyres and me riding worn Softs. 13th lap was enough to melt the gap and catch up to fight in the last lap. In front of me, an M4 and the Porsche in 2nd. The M4 let me pass during the esses as I was clearly faster and he did not want to risk anything. I pushed hard next 2-3 corners as I would need to catch up with the Porsche and make my move before the spoon - afterwards I will lose my Alfa's advantage. Pushed hard in the double right hander, got the pass, not got the right rear wheel on the grass and lost control. I hit the wall, lost 3 positions and spun in the hairpin because of dirty tires. Had to settle for P10 in the end.

3rd Slot...

...there was no 3rd slot. I mistakenly thought that the race was starting at 22:00. Waited in the front of the TV watching different streams and logged in at 21:45 for the registration and last laps...just to realise that the race started at 21:40. Had to settle for the 72points.

Looking forward to the 2nd round...

Thinking of entering the Manufacturer Series, did they fix the exploit at the Red Bull Ring where people purposely run wide at T1?

Is that really an exploit? If the tracklimit is further out it's not a problem I think.
It's faster to stay on the track anyway.

I think people were legitimately going into the run-off area. But then again, it's been a while since I last tried racing there.

Did anyone try a test race for the manufacturers cup stage 2? I was driving the corvette and had to be super cautious on the fuel usage and only able to stayed at mid-1:30 in every lap... seems like will get overtaken by gtr again and again:banghead:

btw i screwed up the last race with only 70pts and still able to rank at no7 in asia lol seems like most of the chevy drivers were sluggish in suzuka:irked:

Chevy is last in the overall standings after Round 1, so it's safe to say Suzuka wasn't a good round for us. I'm #1 in the US (where Chevy is also last) despite only 144 points. Here's hoping Red Bull Ring goes better...judging by my practice times it should.

This will be first time playing in the manu cup, starting with round 2. What is the schedule look like for each event. I.e., it starts, do you go right into quali? Or is there a free practice period?

2 minute warm up then straight into qualy. There will, however, be a lot of online lobbies running the race settings just before the race is due to start and that's the place to practice just before you enter
