Qualifying + Race Replay:
Race starts @10:30

Zocker did a great job pushing me all the way around, if he hadn't gone with my move on lap 1 I would've been dropped to the back, I had to dump him at the end when I saw the big run coming up the inside. I hate it for him but we were racing for the win.

Qualifying and track position are important here, the leader has all the power if they have the right help from behind. The main factor is finding friends, there was nobody from TPC in the lobby so I had to drop a message in before qualy which seemed to work 👍

Just a quick recap

Race 1: Finished 15th after being on for 6th before being squeezed into the pit wall at the end.
Race 2: Finished 8th.
Race 3: Finished 15th after trying to follow a car on the outside at the end, got pinched.
Race 4: Finished 19th after collecting someone at turn 1.
Race 5: Finished 18th after being sandwiched at turn 1.

Can I have some ****ing luck for driving in a straight ****ing line please?

After you dumped me in the final corner a had to go for another round.

This time I had a more reliable partner with Antomix 👍

I am going to livestream the first slot with my alt account. Since there is quite a lot of downtime between slots, I will end the stream after the first race. If the next races off stream go well I may livestream the final slot with my main account (the races have to go really well though).

The scariest user name possible got pole...

Race 6: Wheeled out Big Chungus (R34) for the first time since Race 2. I figured the size would offer some stability. Qualified 7th. 8th lagged off the line. The rest didn't catch up.

Pretty standard stuff until the last corner. I stayed up high this time in a pack of 6. A bit of pinball in the middle led to this:

Pretty sure I could have been on for 3rd, but ended up 7th. I've lost 3.1k DR tonight and I've gained 1 point over my previous lowest Nations score, so I may as well go for the last slot too.

TIE FOR THE WIN!!!!!
Not trying to overly promote my own video, but that probably won't ever happen again.

I was supposed to be in Tenerife this week, Covid put paid to that. So after a day of breaking pallets up (missus wants a garden bar) what better way to relax than at 260mph?

Went for the Lambo, the Huayra gets dropped if it doesn't get help (pushed) and I almost lost the tow straight away despite qualifying 13th (ish). A dull race, caught back up but only finished 13th so I'll go again in the final slot but in the Ferrari

I will post another view of the mahoosive smash that @sturk0167 shared last night! There's no blame anywhere, but watch the two side by side and you can get an idea of how latency has an effect (as Sturk and I are on different continents) and different consoles see things slightly differently. I've also shared the view from my cockpit - where you get a good view of outer space - as well as that of the unfortunate Brazilian

'tis a spectacular one!

I just did the Nations on my alt account. I managed to get pole, which isn't the position you want to be in. I immediately got swallowed up by the pack. But somehow I managed to bring in home in 2nd despite all of the beating and banging on the straights. You can kind of tell who is on a wheel and whose not. Despite my result, I WILL NOT be doing this on my main account.

That is all!

Nations Cup

Door #14
Qualified #1
Finished #13

Shake and bake for the whole qualifying session, I ended up first, and the random race-budy ended up second.
We had a good start, stayed 1st/2nd till the middle of turn 2 of the oval. I left plenty of space, but shouldn't have
been so high up in the turn. I got pushed up in to the wall, and was sent back to 18th place from 1st. :banghead:

Bump drafted a reluctant racer for all of lap 2, and finished 13th. I think we could have finished top 10, but
they didn't seem comfortable with the bump drafting concept.

Still a fun race, and its rare for me to get 1st in qualifying, happy overall. Bonus: Moved up to SR A again :gtpflag:

Wow! Thank you for sharing that. That is very interesting. Your view shows you slowly easing your way to the inside, while mine (I'll post it again here, for comparison) showed you moving down in a much quicker motion.
I wonder how many enemies have been made on the track because these kind of differences of perspectives. :scared:

*Everybody should look at both clips. The difference is noteworthy.

What a meme race that was lol, I could've finished higher but I was trying to be cautious on the final corner and stayed to the inside, but everyone had the same idea so I got blocked. If I went to the outside I probably could've slingshotted past everyone. Still though, I qualified 10th and finished 7th for 172 points, which is my 4th highest result. So, I think I'm one-and-done for this one, especially considering I survived two massive pile-ups

While my pitiful internet upload speed spends the next 45 mins uploading the video, here are the pics I took of me surviving the massive T2 (in NASCAR terms, exit of the first banked corner) pileup that took out half of the field where I went from 10th to 1st. Which should be the video thumbnail?

No I was second by this much.

I had 103 points and the winner had 108.

That’s a clever user name you got there! I was in that race!
The race was pretty clean. I qualified 7th and ended up 3rd. The race did call it a tie but @MOPARbarrett5 got second bythismuch.

Teamwork makes the dream work. DNA secured 1st place in first, second and third splits in the 5pm slot.

Here's how I went from 14 to a podium lockout in half a lap.

In 2nd split we decided to push an R33 to victory just because we could haha

The 3 blue Ferraris working together are impossible to jump with a slingshot. Only another train stands a chance but lucky for us, greed plays to our favor.

Tonight's Nations Cup:

Qualified 2nd (door #9), AWESOME RACE until the last tunnel entrance! Middle of the last turn on lap 2 it turned into a 🤬 show. You would think that after 472 races an unnamed racer would race fairly – I mean it is an SR A race. Nope I guess me coming in 4th ahead of his 5th was not on his agenda so he pushed me directly into the pit barrier. After an abrupt stop, a really nice series of spins followed by a complete dead stop facing the wrong way I got back on track but barely finished 11th.

Points tally for the race: Lost 61 DR points putting me back at 1 and gained 4 cup points for USA. SR started the night and remained at 99.

You all can keep the FIA/PD races – I can’t handle the idiots anymore. I wish the penalty system would have been active, maybe it would have punished the stupid driving there at the end. Enjoy your racing!

Loads of enemies I reckon! It is really an eye opener, first time I've seen exactly the same incident from exactly the same viewpoint but from two different consoles - the difference is pretty big (albeit in this case, different continents which will obviously play a big part)

That may be part of the reason that North Americans and South Americans end up in bitter brawls so often.

Ended up 7th again for 128 points. About as good as it was going to get this evening, I think. Best race time of the night for me too.

I mean in my head I was winning all seven slots and ending the night as an A+ driver, but oh well. 2 stop for me tomorrow in Manu.

Well the run in the final slot was going well, managed to recover from a big bump on L1, everything was timed nicely and I was just about to come off the banking of the final corner and then - I have no idea what happened other than a big bang.

Finished 14th, watching the replay now

Edit: I was on the inside (which is why I didn't have a clue how it could have happened!), a car on the outside got squeezed, speared back across the track and hit someone into me. Shame, definite top ten was incoming. Oh well, on to Saturday. While I wasn't a victim of dirty behaviour, I understand why they disabled penalties for this race, unfortunately it just encourages the dirty to go about their business

Yeah, so screw that "race". Entered NA slot 2 with my alt. A/S driver. Got smashed in qualy to start 17th. Got crashed in T3/T4 on lap one and sustained damage to every part of the car. Finished last. Lost 1600 DR. Blue S's for everyone. Won't be running that again, thankyouverymuch.

Note the car is ghosted, I assume because my poor driver has already died at this point.

FIA Sanctioned Meme Racing!

For once, I was happy being in a 230 point lobby since I actually stood a chance at finishing highly and getting some good points. Qualifying went well, even though it's mostly meaningless for this race. I ended up in a group of 4 cars bump-drafting each other the entire quali lap and qualified 10th. This is exactly where I wanted to be since it meant I could lag back from the lead pack, but also not have to worry about catching up.

Race start: I caught up to the front pack by T1, and everyone was bump drafting each other. I backed out though and went to the inside since I had a feeling The Big One would happen.. and it did, wiping out half of the field (timestamp: 4:25). Moses parted the seas for me and ghosting did its job and I ended up in 1st place, with a bump-draft train forming behind me.

Coming into T3, I indicated right and backed off, letting the pack pass me, putting me back down into P10 coming onto the front straight. I knew I just needed to survive this and T1/T2, then it's be on for race position. However, I backed off too much as the lead pack was out of slipstream range, but perhaps that was a good thing as a smaller incident occurred at T2, forcing 2 drivers back (timestamp: 8:43).

On the back straight, I couldn't get into the slipstream train, so I fell back again. But, I tried to time it so I would shoot through the pack coming out of T4 on the inside, but everyone else had the same idea about staying on the inside, so I got held up and crossed the line in 7th place.

I felt I got lucky, not crashing and also finishing high enough for 172 points which increased my total score by 30 points. As much fun as the memes are, this is one-and-done for me. I'll take those 172 points.

I realized one thing from these races: Ferrari's mostly feared Big Chungus (R33 or R34) and tries to avoid them at turns. Because this thing, while being slower, still manages to GO FAST on straights, can give you a significant boost from bump-drafting and if this big boy side-bumps onto you - shadow realm incoming.

Little recap from my perspective:
Race 1: Qualified #2 (Door #11), somehow find a group of 5-6 cars, and going with them for the whole race, last turn almost wipes anyone, but i manage to finish first (R33 Chungus)
Race 2: thing going downhill. Qualified #8, and on the first turn someone smashed me into wall. Long story short - finish last (20 out of 20, again - R33).
Race 3: yet another not-so-good race. Qualified #19, because i find myself in the wall TWICE during the lap. Have pretty good chances to finish in Top-3, but one of my opponents don't think so. Result - another kill goes to wall on last turn. Finish #10 (this time i choose Ferrari, because FAST).
<<insert some rage here and quite nice daily race B>>
Last race: time for Big Chungus again (actually this time it's R34). Qualified #7 with Door #14. And this race goes actually kinda smooth, except turns, where bump-drafting often cause a little mess. Almost gets destroyed at the last turn, but manages to keep car under my control and finish #2, while another player from my country have all chances to finish #2 instead of me (in that case i should be finished third), but TACTICAL PIT WALL takes one more soul and throws it into shadow realm.

In conclusion: kinda fun, but PD, please - don't disable penalties completely on races like this.
Gained almost 1000 DR, while keeps my SR at 99.

Too much for 1st post, no? And beforehand sorry, if my english not so good (and messed up just like penalties in GT Sport).
