The huge puddles, particularly the ones that cover the full width of the track are possibly the most retarded thing I have seen in a racing game. If a track was that wet no one would be allowed to race on it. Yes T10 we know you have 3D puddles and aquaplaning but introduce it correctly. T10 really are as subtle as a half brick. Total gimmick.
This is very true, and I've witnessed it first hand, once car's started aquaplaning at last year's WEC at COTA, they red flagged the race until the track was raceable again.

But this is a game, not real life. You can't paint your car or repair damage at the touch of a button in real life either, should those "gimmicks" be introduced correctly as well? Surely liberties can be taken in games, or must everything be exactly like it is in real life?

You're taking this way too far, when I have a sim, (because that is what FM6 is trying to be for the most part) I want the driving to be atleast somewhat realistic. To me, it seems like your just trying to defend a flaw that should not be defended because it is a flaw. I don't want to hydroplane before every corner because they want to have some pretty puddles.

Could someone show me the picture of the completely submerged track? I haven't seen it.

That huge puddle is very unneeded and would cause a red flag IRL.

It's how the puddle would form there in real life

Will you drive around this one as well?

They are totally unnecessary. T10 could have done it in a much more subtle way that really added to the experience rather than shouting 'look at me' as this does.
So how does this hurt the gameplay in any way?

It's completely unrealistic and very annoying to have to go through huge puddles when you are driving let's say an Audi R18. It makes the gameplay worse because it is something that the car is not meant to drive through, and it will always be there because the tracks aren't dynamic so you drive through the same huge puddle every race.

Please tell me how a car that is built to run for 24 hours straight can't deal with a patch of water?

Because it's not a realistic example of racing. It's a stupid gimmick included because they have included 3D puddles and aquaplaning and they want to show those features off by shouting it from the roof tops and including completely unrealistic racing conditions. The next corner after that pic has a huge puddle on the apex of a corner, following that is another dip with a puddle that covers the full width of the track. It's unrealistic and hence has no place in a game that tries to sell it's sim credentials. What is the point of creating such complex 3D puddles and accurately model aquaplaning if you are going to implement them in such an unrealistic manner?

If that patch of water appeared at Le Mans the race would be stopped as would every other circuit race in the world.

How about we wait until we can get our hands on the game first? Kinda dumb arguing about realism without first hand experience.

these weren't even as big as the puddles in the game.

I really don't need to get my hands on the game to say that a huge, deep puddle spanning the whole width of the track in unrealistic. It just is.

They don't need to do it, that's the frustrating thing. 3D puddles and aquaplaning are great, it's adds hugely to the series. But adding a full track width puddle to the game is a gimmick to show off those new features. Those new features would have showed themselves off just fine without the need to resort to such gimmicks. Forza has been my go to racing game for the past ten years. I gave T10 a pass on FM5 because they were obviously told it had to be out the door for XBone release but they have got to get back to the fantastic games they made in FM3 & FM4 and gimmicks like this worry me.

Why does everyone expect forza to follow real life regulations with this "too much water" thing? The series has never followed real life rules for any Motorsport.

But it effects the gameplay negatively, it makes driving in the rain unrealistically harder if they do simulate it right.

Well, how can it be hard if Forza is arcade? ;)

Um, I never said that...:lol:At times Forza is unrealistically hard to drive with its handling model, but it has improved with FM5.

Good. Can't wait :)

That's BS! I was in that corner when all hell broke loose, the rain was so heavy we thought there was a brush fire blowing across the start of the straight at turn 11. It wasn't till it got half way down the straight that we realized it was rain.

That was a ridiculous heavy rain that didn't let up and couldn't drain fast enough.

Bro, I was too, calm down, my point I'm trying to make is that it seems like that is the amount of rain they are trying to simulate.

Then you should know how ridiculous the comparison you made was. A nonstop heavy down pour to puddle on track, and everyone was on slicks. not even close.

I don't see low visibility due to rain in the fm6 photo nor do we know the depth of the puddle.

I find this hilarious that people want weather but not the difficulty that comes with driving in it.

Driving on a wet track (if it's been modelled correctly) is quite difficult enough without the addition of puddles that cover the whole width of the track. That's my whole point. If done right, realistic racing conditions will prove a fantastic challenge. The huge puddles are not needed, the only reason they are there is so that T10 can say 'look at our shiny 3D puddles and aquaplaning!'. I'd rather they concentrated on the difference it makes to the handling model and shouted about that than stuck humongous ponds on the track and shouted about them. Rather than create a wet environment they have created a caricature of a wet environment.
