Then you should know how ridiculous the comparison you made was. A nonstop heavy down pour to puddle on track, and everyone was on slicks. not even close.

I don't see low visibility due to rain in the fm6 photo nor do we know the depth of the puddle.

I find this hilarious that people want weather but not the difficulty that comes with driving in it.
The race would still be red flagged if there was a puddle stretching across the entire track. Hydroplaning is hydroplaning, also, not everyone was on slicks, they red flagged the race for a reason, and it wasn't because the track was undriveable on slicks, it was because it was undriveable all together.

Have you listened to the commentary?

You're taking this way too far, when I have a sim, (because that is what FM6 is trying to be for the most part) I want the driving to be atleast somewhat realistic. To me, it seems like your just trying to defend a flaw that should not be defended because it is a flaw. I don't want to hydroplane before every corner because they want to have some pretty puddles.

A SIM does not mean every little nitty gritty detail has to be reproduced in exact detail to your specifications.
The racing in Forza is, & always has been *more* than"somewhat realistic" - are you saying it now isn't? - just because of that puddle???
(which doesn't cover the "whole width of the track," incidentally)
Also, there isn't a puddle at every corner as you say. Do you exaggerate much? And you say I'm taking this way too far???
Of course you are free to dislike the puddles, but don't make up stuff to try & bolster your point.
This is a GAME. Get it? GAME. You can spout the term SIM till the cows come home but it is essentially & primarily a GAME. Meant to be *fun*. Look up the word sometime.
Games can take liberties with real life, that's the whole point of them being games. You may see them as "flaws". Fine. That's *your* view, its not fact.

Seriously?

It's a video game, people. Not real life. A video game.

Obviously you don't have a HUD in all four corners of your peripheral vision in real life either. Fake.
Obviously you can't pause a race right before you collide with an armco in real life. Fake.

I don't care that it wouldn't happen in real life because this isn't real life.

Finally. An intelligent view. Thank you.

Methinks this gaming biz has a serious side effect causing people to fail to distinguish between real life and virtual entertainment.
And expecting both to be the same.....??

Mind. Boggles.

But this one does.

Not the same puddle I was talking about. Thought that was obvious??

Yes it is a game. However, it's a game that's trying to simulate a real life scenario. T10 keep banging on about realism and how they model everything so true to real life. They even have a real life racing driver waxing lyrical about how no sim he's even driven has modelled water so well. They made the rod for their own back. As I keep saying the only reason unrealistic puddles in a racing scenario are in the game is to show off their spangly new 3D puddles and aquaplaning. And by doing so they have made it unrealistic. They can't have it both ways, they can't bang on about realism and then try and prove that realism in an unrealistic way. Much better to have had a more realistic racing environment and let the spangly new features speak for themselves. It's crass.

Care to comment on that one then?

Care to comment on that one then?

So it covers the track. So what?
Oh me, oh my, it's not just like real life, (shock....horror)
This is an outrage. How dare games unrealistically represent real life ?!?

Which is rain and how it would collect in relation to its real life counterpart - check.

T10 keep banging on about realism and how they model everything so true to real life.

Which in this context is how the water would collect in certain spots around the track in relation to its real life counterpart, not whether or not a governing body would actually sanction the race - check.

They even have a real life racing driver waxing lyrical about how no sim he's even driven has modelled water so well.

Which has to do with what exactly? It's marketing. And the fact you're talking about in any capacity proves that it worked - check.

They made the rod for their own back.

By simulating where water would collect in relation to its real life counterpart? Sure, they've hanged themselves there.

As I keep saying the only reason unrealistic puddles

Now I'm confused. Are the puddles unrealistic (how the hell?) or is it that the race is running in inhospitable conditions that's unrealistic?

If it's the latter, again, this isn't real life thus I don't care.

This has nothing to do with you in particular, but this isn't new at all. PGR 4 did it seven, going on eight years ago.

For the love of everything sane in the world, can we find something worthwhile to criticize please?

I'm quite happy for games to represent whatever they want, played many in my time. However, when a game dev is continually banging on about realism and then do something so unrealistic to highlight a new feature that could stand on it's own two feet well enough I think it's a very bad design decision.

At what point does the unrealistic feature become too much for you. If the cars in Forza could shoot red or green shells at the cars in front, would that still be acceptable to you? I would hope not, so we can agree that there is a point where an unrealistic feature bothers each one of us. Now we are all different so I'm sure we can also agree that the point for each of us differs. For me the unrealistic racing environment in the case of these puddles is that point. Doesn't have to be the case for you.

The puddles ARE modelled true to real life. They look great.
Where does it say that the scenarios in Forza *have* to be exactly as they would in real life???
And they CAN have it both ways. It's a GAME after all. Their game.

Would be great if you actually addressed the points I raised.

I think an unrealistic racing environment in a racing game is a worthwhile thing to criticise. You don't, which links in to the point I made to HighWayStar. At what point would a feature in a Forza game become so unrealistic to you that you wouldn't be happy with it. Would you be happy for the game to have a feature where you could shoot red or green shells at the car in front? An unrealistic environment to race in is mine. It's an opinion and we all have them ;)

Again, where is it stated that Forza will ONLY strictly adhere to real life???
At what point is a GAME allowed to include "game like" elements without them being scrutinized to the nth degree over whether they would be accepted in real life???
They have not added flying physics or ridiculous bouncy collisions, these are puddles for crying out loud. They lay as they would in rainy conditions. They will not leap up off the track & attack your car. Therefore they are effectively realistic.
Stop comparing them to ridiculously over the top Mario Kart physics.
They're not even close to being the same.

Then don't buy the game and move on, Jeez. there are many racing games out there, I'm sure you'll find something for yourself.

Look, I didn't mean to start this whole argument, I was just stating my honest opinion of what would make the game more enjoyable to ME. I will still be buying this game because it will still be amazing and fun, which is what games are meant to be.

The game cannot possibly cater to each & everyone's personal likes & dislikes.
Obviously.
That was my point all along.

What they need though is to have the rain be progressive, that would solve all our problems, but maybe for FM7 I guess.

The fact that the weather is not dynamic makes me happy t10 went flat out on the wetness scale.

I think I'd be more unhappy with the big puddles if the game didn't have rewind. As it is they can up the difficulty level to unrealistic levels in places safe in the knowledge that players have the choice to practice each difficult section to perfection should they so desire.

Brands Hatch. Wet. Normal cars.

I know most don't agree with me about the puddles but I can see them becoming really annoying very quickly.

Edit: Found another. Probably the best implementation of driving at night in a game ever IMO.

Edit2: Found another.

Can some one tell me if it looks good in real life?? I dont like the Project Cars Graphics on PS4 and the game is not for me. I now play Driveclub on PS4 and i want to buy the One for Forza 6 but iam scared that the graphics will be disepointing. Someone seen this game for real on gamescom who can tell me it looks awsome en better dan project cars? Gameplay is okay i played 3 and 4 on the 360.

I tried these days the Horizon 2 demo and I was blown away by it's graphics and absense of lag. I am buying it asap.

I can only imagine forza 6 will be similar!

In terms of graphics, don't get your hopes up. Judging from direct-feed videos, Forza6 does not even come close to Driveclub, mainly with weather patterns and the like. However Forza is running at 60fps if that is important to you.

Leave driveclub out of it, this game and fm5 look fantastic regardless.
