This game seems to have a feeling of "Fast and Furious" movies but more authentic and realistic. I'm talking about the latest addition the 4th and 5th movies.

I already have a few cars from the list for this game that will be my work horses to destroy others.

I followed traffic laws in Midnight Club and GTA when I felt like it, there is no need for any kind of penalty to force proper driving. Have you seen how many cruising rooms exist on GT5?

Anyway, since this game has realistic physics it might be worth buying. Though I'd rather just get FM4. Also, if you get points for causing damage and being wreckless, I'll probably have zero points forever.

I never check the rooms that are open (who does cursing rooms?) And thats you. Your giving these people wayyy tooo much credit for saying that everyone would obey the laws.... And your telling me you wouldnt use traffic as moving drift cones? (Dosent sound like horizons gonna be for you)

I really hope HORIZON doesn't go overboard with the backgrounds. Perhaps the main reason why I could never take the series seriously as a simulator is because the circuits all looked wildly over-produced, and felt like something I would find in an arcade. Just take the Bernese Alps course for instance - racing along the cliff, you can see glaciers and rocky outcrops and cable cars and villages and lakes and forests, and it's all a little bit too much. It never really felt like a circuit that could exist. I'm not suggesting that all of the circuits should be minimalist and monotonous, but FORZA's original circuits have always felt like the art came first. HORIZON will no doubt have some great scenery, but I do hope that Turn 10 and Playground Games have realised that they don't have to have a stunning vista around every corner.

Oh FSM... That Bermese Alps track just feels like a worse version of Cape Ring to drive... :yuck:

Thats not the best complaint in the world. "This track looks too pretty, shouldn't be in the game".

Does not make sense..why wouldn't you want pretty tracks?

Negative. Cape Ring has the biggest Mario Kart style jump I've ever seen in a game dubbed a 'simulator'. It was fun the 1st 2-3 times I tried it, and now I loathe that jump in either direction. Bernese Alps is very pretty looking and has some exciting straights and turns but isn't my cup of tea. Personally I prefer real world tracks unless the fantasy track is just that good. Bernese Alps isn't that bad, Cape Ring however is terrible.

^^ This is why I don't use the full version of Cape Ring or Eiger in any of my racing series. Jumps = nope.

I do like pretty circuits - I just don't want circuits that go over-the-top. They get boring after a while.

I see what you mean, but I do prefer them over bland fictional tracks like High Speed Ring.

Well, that's at the opposite end of the spectrum. I just never got the sense that circuits like Bernes Alps could conceiveably exist, and I couldn't help but wonder if Turn 10 could have included more circuits if they'd eased up on the panoramas. Sure, Polyphony were occasionally guilty of it with the likes of Citta di Aria and Costa di Amalfi, but they never felt like they were showing off (and the close proximity of the buildings was probably to cover up the technical limitations of the PS2).

I somewhat agree with you. I loved the city themed tracks. It felt extremely nice.

Actually I think I liked those tracks so much because it reminded me so much of the PGR city's. I hope HORIZON has some city sections.

The handling doesn't look right.

If only Rockstar could use the the GTA4 game engine but have real car licenses. Nothing would be able to compete with that.

^ Looks like I'm not the only one who found out about those cars after all. :sly: The first shot looks like those cars are in some kind of hot pursuit event.

I honestly think this game is a joke. Just takes the Simulator out of racing, just like NFS.

Why do you say this? They're using physics from a simulator(Forza 4). It's not going to be like NFS. Or are you just being nasty because you don't have a 360? Would you be saying the same thing if PD were to make a similar game?

I'll assume you know that because you've had access to a pre-release copy.

I won't presume you're talking out of your arse at all. Nope. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Actually I do have Forza 4, and play it quite often. But I think its a joke because it reminds me of NFS: The run. But if PD was doing a similar game, I would say that because Gran turismo is mainly based on a simulator.
