I'll take the consistent detail and smoothness of Forza's graphics over the highly variable and often disappointing GT5 graphics any day.

O indeed, i'm not knocking it, i simply think there's been one hell of a gulf in the images i've seen. I know its a bad thing to do, but the only comparison I have to FM4 is GT5 and between the two the autovista mode seems to have the best graphics. However, whenever I see an in game shoot with a track environment around it just doesn't match up to GT5 for me.

GT5 vs. FM4 (or FM3, for that matter) is always a tough one when it comes to graphics. In carefully selected, static shots, GT5 seems clearly superior.

While in motion, it's a tough call. It all depends to how you react to the tearing, the frame-rate drops, the flickering shadows, blocky smoke, ocassional standard car or the less detailed tracks. For me, that's really taking the beauty out of GT5's graphics. The first time I fired it up, I was like 'WTF?!' because all of this stuff.

For others, it might be barely noticible - I don't know, but I guess it's much more subjective between other games.

What claims?

This game isn't even out yet and people are continuing to complain.

If you don't like what you see: fine. Go back to the GT5 forums.

Okay, there IS a GT vs FM thread. No need to make another one. Sorry to the mods for this pseudo modding, but I don't like off track threads.

Don't quote me and tell me there is a GT5 vs FM thread. Nothing in my post compared GT to FM. YOU, of ALL people....

Get off your pedestal, you are not a moderator.

indeed. From what i've seen of both games they both have significant inconsistencies (and i'm probably one of the few here who has played the FM4 demo).

To me the race shots of FM4 still look too cartoony for my liking. I'll still end up buying it like the others

I'm mostly disappointed with Pistano being cut. I think I'll be holding onto my FM3 disk for a looooooong time. One thing I don't understand is how come they didn't get wet tire data from Pirelli and just simulate wet surface. That would have been just fine.

I dont understand why this game has less cars then the FM3 UC...

which is pretty reasonable if you remember how F12010 struggle in the wet.

500 cars are plenty imo.

Yup. Even GT5 struggles in the wet with the spray and weather and lights...and, 500 cars without too many dull ones.

Lol, 500 cars might be half what GT5 has but that's 300 odd more 'premiums' along with none of the filler crap GT5 has in the form of 10 variations of the same model Skyline or Supra or Miata. I'm happy as with Forza 4 atm and even though it might not have weather effects or night racing I can understand the reasons why and quite honestly, that doesn't bother me.

Turn 10 forgot about the racers.

That's BS and you know it.

See, I love that they actually inform you of what's not going to be in the game, why it's not in the game, and why you shouldn't expect to see it in the game at any point throughout it's lifetime. Unlike PD who says nothing at all, even when everything has already been discovered.

Other than the occasional "We couldn't do this because of the memory limitations" or "Sorry". 10 cars a month starting day one -- I like that loads.

Now release the F'ing thing already.

That communication from Turn 10 alone is enough to make me want FM4. PD needs to take a page from Turn 10's book on how to keep the community informed....

Under The Hood 2 crushed my hopes.

Only 26 Autovista Cars. New York, Sidewinder and Amalfi Full removed (No city tracks? WTF?) And as a cherry on top. No night racing or weather.

Seriously, what!? Forza 3.1

At least they gave explanations as to no weather. I don't mind loosin' Sindwinder or New York, since Sindwinder wasn't used much in FM3 and I didn't care for New York. Loosing Amalfi full and the Bugatti Circuit are the crappy track losses for me. But, gaining Infineon, Hockenhiem and Indy Road ALMOST makes up for it.

I know New York wasn't the greatest track. But at least it gave Forza one City Track (Which was great in photomode).

I hope at least one of the new tracks is a city one.

And that's only of the new tracks we know of so far. :sly:

And, honestly, losing three tracks is nothing (although Bugatti biting the dust is a big fat "NO" in my book), but we've got the Bermese Alps, TGTT, what more could you want?

There's also the hint of Bathurst...

I'm originally from New York so losing that sucks hard. I've been waiting for them to expand it , not cut it. PGR's New York was great. Thought at some point they would incorporate it.

Mostly dissapointed by having only 25 cars in Autovista. Thats a shame, T10 and we already know like half of those cars. But on the other hand I'm now sure that Dan's BMW M-series which was shown with TG Homespace is not an AV car and it still looks great. Nice job with the lighting.
I guess AV is just the early look at the bar of nextgen quality in racing games.
