The Lancia in this update
(sorry bx i love u)

Some BX models are background cars, or in one-touch mobile racing games, and the BX 4TC Group B and homologation model is in others, but aside from this I don't think it's been a car you can drive in any game except the one I mention in the article...

... and that was a diesel TZD.

Praying that the BX comes in "granddad's red" as shown in the photo, as the first UCD colour wipes tear
Now, for "granddad's blue" next month please 🙏:)

So, it's a BX 19 TRS model so it's kind of weird mid-range model and there was a lot of them for BX to choose from I wished they chose a GTi model, but this will do nicely as TRS still has the look of GT model but just without the funky digital dash of pre-facelift models.
The one that I saw every day on the route to school 25 years ago was a pre-facelift model.
The normal Allure 2008 if it's a petrol model then this will match with the RHD version on sale here in Thailand.
EDIT: Just watched again and It's a manual so not a match, we're got automatic trans in Thailand. I'm satisfied; I'm getting to drive my dream car not the exact variant but it still a BX!
One of Marcello Gandini's masterpiece designs alongside Mercedes-Benz W124.
The WRC legend is back too so if you're into some Sega Rally Championship 1995 appreciation post then this update is for you as well.

Oh come on! Seriously no track?
The general rule is that additional content is teased before we get the update articles/video, so if it's not in Yamauchi's social media don't expect it.

I've updated the article to reflect the new details:

Odd that "SUV" is put into the 2008's name though.

To be honest, GT7 is the last place I'd want to drive a Hypercar. The GR010 is done no justice at all - the systems and assists in the game just don't work with how the cars are run in real life.

An LMH with ABS (technically optional but pretty much mandatory if you want to be competitive in it online.. assuming they'd use Gr.1) - a simple 'battery' and no proper multiclass racing just isn't the experience a Hypercar should give you.

I'd rather drive it in a game where it's done properly, and play GT for the things that other games don't have.

Like a big grid of Crossovers done up like Touring Cars

If you’re that desperate for racing cars that already appear in every other racing game, Forza, iRacing and Le Mans Ultimate are right over there 👉
GT is supposed to be all about "car culture". That does include racing cars in addition to sports cars, kei cars, SUVs, trucks, ambulances, etc - but PD doesn't seem to be aware or care that modern ones exist.

They also continue to promote the game with racing cars in the eSports competions. They run multiplayer races every day that almost always use them. I know the single player part of the "community" wishes they didn't exist but they are in the game.

Also you picked the wrong games for your argument, as none of them are on PS5. You should tell people to go play ACC.

I like these cars that were added - my Dad had a beige BX and * it's almost certainly the only car of his that would appear in a game * - but I'd also like a proper modern racer for all the WTC 800s, WTC 700s, GT3 Cups, GT4 Cups, the 2 endurance missions, etc, instead of having to make a fake one that doesn't have the same fuel economy as the real ones. After a couple of thousand hours with this game I've used all the existing ones - a lot.

* if there is a Ford Consul in any game please let me know*

My views on the update

Lancia- excellent, a true classic (shame rallying is a bit naff in GT)
Citroen- it's somewhat iconic, at least from my childhood, so it's fine by me
Pug SUV- no, soooooo tired of pointless SUVs in the game already
No track- getting pretty unacceptable at this point

I could be wrong, but my gut tells me we won’t be getting another track added to gt7
Yea Its been pretty evident for a while now, but I think GT7 is going to roll directly into GT8. Like all these cars are really being prepped for GT8. Imagine if they would've tried to knock out these cars in the beginning and help some of the better cars until the end, a lot of people would've left a long time ago.

That assumes the newer variants of imsa/wec are included in gt8. Something which im not too sure of anymore. Certainly not something to be counted on after the past couple years of releases.

Soooo its a bad thing for people to want the same equal treatment across all these games without one being completely left in the dark
Throughout the entire history of GT as a franchise, Kaz has never given a single damn about what the competition is doing. The games, first and foremost, are comprised of what he wants in his game, and for better or worse that is what makes up the "soul" of GT. It's nothing to do with "equal treatment", he simply does not see a reason to include these cars within the game at this present moment.

If you can't understand that after 10 years of being in the community, then perhaps the game just isn't for you and you should find your enjoyment elsewhere.

But wanting all the latest hypercars and GT3 cars is like wanting the 911 or F2 cars in F1:25? That’s why people find it odd and a broken record!

I’m huge F1 and Sports car fan so would love to create a replica on something that drives and looks as good as GT7… but that isn’t PD’s/GT’s culture and apart from GT Sport, 1st class LM prototypes and GT cars have only ever been a sprinkle of cars in the Gran Turismo roster.

These cars (except for the 2008 I think) are exactly the type of content updates I’d expect from Gran Turismo

The game has only been out 3 years. If you truly believe PD of all devs are anywhere close to having completed the next game, as well as still supporting this one and adding stuff like VR, you are truly hopelessly deluded.

@jonoholland29 the F2 cars are in F1 25, so yeah that would be odd wouldn't it?

It’s not odd…just not what you’d demand or be angry about if they were absent.

What I’m trying to say is people constantly commenting on every update post about why the latest GT3 cars aren’t in GT7 is really odd when I would never expect them to be - GT Sport (and a lot of their World Series/online stuff) has given this expectation.
