I'm currently 9 hours into the 24h Le Mans endurance. While I'm having a good time, I don't think I'll be touching the Nurburgring 24h race unless they patch in B-spec. Hats off to you animals that have already finished all 50 PP races.
I have found for the 24s that there's a valley of disinterest that happens between 9-11 hours into the race. I get the itch to quit, see if I can do better, get less rain, that kind of thing.

I'm currently at 11 hours into the same race as you. It started raining 4 hours in and didn't stop for 5 straight hours.
Once you cross the count DOWN time it gets a lot easier to push through. Right now you're at the hardest part to stay interested: The count up to 12 hours. Cross that threshold and it gets interesting again. Can I lap 1st one more time before the end? Can I get a fast lap as the sun rises.

Those are also things to look forward to. You started at 4pm local time, sun comes up about 6am local and you're about 5 hours from that. Then as the sun rises and the fog burns off the colors pop in a way you've not seen before.

Honestly even in a video game racing at sunrise after pounding through the darkness for 8 hours is a magical thing.

How did you manage the save your progress?

I know this, I just wanted to learn his strategy because I used different way. I paused the game and let my PS5 sleep mode and then I go where I stopped. Need to find best solution for myself. Thanks

How did you manage the save your progress?
I pause the game, move the cursor to "Settings" and turn my TV off.
This automatically puts my PS5 into "rest" mode.

I turn on the TV and the console, sign into my account, and GT is there waiting for me to resume.

I know that there's a process to resume if/when the console shuts off. I don't trust that to actually "save" my progress. That's an "oh crap" button that might save my bacon later but it's not a tool I am going to willingly use.

I'm also the only person in my house that uses the console and when my kiddo wants to watch TV they change the HDMI input and I don't have to worry about the game getting messed up.

I also have very little in the way of infrastructure disruptions. No power outages, no internet outages, so I'm not worried about pausing and walking away.
Thanks!

Thanks for your kind reply. I am same with you. I did same things. Only I am worried about my PS5, I hope this sleep/wake progress won't make problem to my console.

What is your pit strategy and tyre strategy in LM24h? Any tips and advice? Thanks.

My strategy has been a full fill and Medium tire swap every stop. The top 3 AI have been cycling between Soft and Medium. When they're on Softs they run between 9-11 laps and then pit for tires with about 40-45% fuel left.

When they're on Mediums they run till empty. I have not tried Soft or Hard yet and don't intend to. Ran came about 4 hours in. Not enough to ever get past half way up the Inter section. I stuck to Inters during those hours. 5 of them to be specific.

I would double stint the intermediate tires as the wear rate on them is vastly lower than the Mediums wear.
I am running about 18-19 laps per stint, Fuel Map 1.

I am running TC 1, Brake Bias 2, bumper cam, controller, automatic transmission.

If I didn't want to do anything else and just focus on the long race, then yes I would go the same route as you....

But I those instances where you want to get out and do other GT7 activities, then what are you all best advices to get out of the race to resume it in the best most advantageous for your race....

Break strategy?

What do you need to do before to prepare for the brake.
Can you stop Anywhere on the track?
Should we break right after passing the start line ?Midway through the track, or right before crossing the start line ?

Should we do it before a pitstop or on the out lap after a pit stop?

Your advices and guidance would be appreciated

I really just want to talk to the team who play tested this and thought this was balanced.

I'm not mad, just really disappointed. This is me trying the Honda NSX at the 6 hours of Suzuka.

It's one thing to have a detuned race car, but why did you leave the gear ratios so long, that even when you're hustling through the corners, you have little to no acceleration or top end speed.

And this is after they supposedly balanced and made a bunch of fixes.

Who signed this off? These are supposed to be your flagship events of your paid DLC...
I'm sorry, what?

The entire (visible) field is only separated by approximately 5 seconds, with less than half a second between most positions. The human player (you) did not massively out-perform or under-perform the AI opponents. How do you not get more "balanced" than that? Am I missing something?

My strategy for that would be 2 laps AFTER your last pit about half way down the Mulsanne (long straight). I've read (not experienced at all) that the game "resets" to about a lap to lap and a half prior to the break you're taking.

So if I take that 2 laps after I stop I'll have recorded the stop. Maybe even half way through the stint would be good. Worth testing for sure.
Definitely NOT immediately before your stop. I've read horror stories of players doing that and then on rejoin being past the pit entrance and not having the fuel for a competitive lap around the circuit.

So.. after your stop by no less than 2 but also less than half a stint. Stop/break on the long straight, and be prepared to have zero gap to the field when you restart or even restart lower than your current position as some have reported.

I would try really really hard to have a full lap on some of the field before taking a hard break like that.

I'm thinking there's merit to people saying the 'save point' is a time based interval. I lost two laps on the last break I did by closing out on lap 165 on Mulsanne, and the data was saved up to lap 162. I might have crossed a 15 minute mark on 162, and didn’t make it to the next 15 minute interval when I stopped on 165, so it reverted back to the previous 15 minute mark.

So, two laps is a good buffer, but it might be a good idea to also reach a 15 minute interval on your previously completed lap. I could be wrong about this - I'm just throwing it out there

Definitely something worth testing. Unfortunately as I just crossed 12 hours left and I'm counting down I am unwilling to restart to test and confirm things.

It would make sense that the "data capture" happens at a specific time interval and 15 minutes makes the most sense. I would definitely test that if able and once I'm done with Le Mans (in a few days) I'll give that a test at Nurburgring as I have that unlocked.

Thanks for the idea!

That the save mode is as it is, is ok if technically hard to implement something smoother. I, of course, still hope they can apply a real safe mode.

That they don't support us with exact info what's going on, and how it works exactly so we have to test ourselves is just weird. Think of people not on this forum. They have no clue at all. This is crazy.

I finished the 6 hours of Suzuka. The payout seems weak. $3 million for 6 hours? Tokyo pays $550k for half an hour. Given the commitment time, you'd think they would cough up 1 million per hour. Like, no one is going to farm this for credits, and if they do, good on them.

I'm no lover of endurance races. 1 hours is my peak.

Yeah the 24 hour ones are the same, 12mil for 24 hours. It is a weak rate and there isn't much of a reason to do them beyond "I wanted to" and well, you could do it anyway if you wanted to.
Having it integrate with the progression/economy of the game is half the reason I'd have liked them to be officially included. The old games didn't pay much but at least they had prize cars etc. to make up for it.

Plenty of stuff they could use - one of the 20 mil Le Mans cars would be a lovely prize for the 24h of Le Mans even if they chose to pay me out with no credits on top of it.
Make it repeatable and you can sell it for 10-12 mil which is the same pay-rate anyway but you at least get a toy to do new stuff with elsewhere in the game. I'd probably do a few 24h race if it meant I could bulk out a 60s Custom Race grid with the prize!

How is the PP integrated into the Dashboard?

Hey that's an amazing idea (and also why they didn't)!

Imagine being able to win from this pool:
53 Aston DB3S
BMW McLaren F1 GTR
Ferrari 330
Ford Mark IV 67
Jaguar D-Type 54
Jaguar XJ13
Jaguar XJR-9 88
Mazda 787B
McLaren F1 GTR 95
Mercedes Benz 300SL S194
Nissan R92CP
Porsche 917K
Porsche 962 C
Toyota 88C-V - Yes this car is missing from GT7 and that gives me The Big Sad

I know that not all of them are 20 million credit cars and maybe that should be adjusted in some way but definitely being able to win a Legendary Le Mans race car REPEATEDLY would make replaying the DLC Endurance Races far more palatable.

How was the difficulty of the race?

So much for this theory. I hit 14 hours remaining about 15 seconds before lap 187 was ending and quit on Mulsanne again on 188. Progress data has been saved up to lap 186. Maybe you have to hit a certain number of sectors before your previous lap is saved? Maybe only even number laps are saved (on Sarthe, at least)? I have no idea, but I sure would like to figure this out. 😅

My assumption when I first heard of it was that it acts like a red flag and the racing resumes at the end of the leader's last completed lap, as it seems to track with people resuming two laps prior to the shutdown.

Did the American Muscle car race on Road Atlanta in the Mach forty again and won it from Angel Inostroza, whose Challenger kept on wailing behind me with it's supercharger. I then did the 2 Desert Beetle races and they were a lot of fun. I started 4th on Sardegna and ended up second not too far behind the winner who I think was L.Bonelli. On Willow Springs, I started first but it once again came down to a last corner, last lap pass to win by a small amount over D.Solis. I then did the Corvette race in the C3 but I made a meal of the start after qualifying first, dropping down to 8th by the time I got round to the back straight tunnel. I was not able to catch the 2 leaders out front, so I had to settle for third. I made a lot of errors.

Ran the Beetle at Sardena, (hate the dirt tracks), qualified last, finished last. Got this message at the end: "You finished the race". Love the Beetle at Big Willow. Started on the Pole, finished first.

I've found all the AI drivers in the DLC drive like they're Sport Mode Noobs. Dive bombs, bumping you into corners if you're taking a defensive line. Door Slams if you're in the lane they want to be in down straights.

Honestly it's like the worst combination of Sport Noobs and scripted lines sometimes. They're also impossible to bait or punk out. I can't get them to block weird and then make a passing move, I can't get them to overcook a corner, can't get them to make mistakes basically.
