Another yawn fest car update.
This is miles better than the previous one

Audi TTS seems a bit lame tbh and the evo, we dont need any more Lancers, GTRS in game give use new cars
The Audi is not lame if it’s the second generation TT. It would bridge a gap between the two already in the game. Decent little sports cars in my opinion.

Also, we absolutely did need more Lancer Evolution models. The 2000s Evolutions haven’t been in the game since GT6, and the Evolution IX is the last one before the Lancer entered its final generation. Besides, this one is a direct rival to the 2004 WRX STi which was added to the game last year. See the bigger picture.

When you look at Audi dealership gaps you will realize that there are some other gaps that could be filled better...cough...5 cylinder...RS...wagon...V10....
Sure, but I was specifically talking about the TT lineup. We have models from the 1st and 3rd generations but hadn't a 2nd generation model until now.

Pretty darn sure that's an Evo IX trying to pause the video while the red line is on the license plate, sure looks like there's an "X" on it... but I am really hoping for an VIII. I owned an Evo VIII for over 18 years. Aesthetically, they're very similar with the biggest difference being the front bumper and rear tail lights. If it's the VIII, I'll buy a baker's dozen; if it's the IX, I'll buy three.

Either way I am stoked for this, especially since PD often use one of the road cars in the following week's Daily A (33% chance of it being the Evo!).

I don't see that 2gen TT has so big following ,and that would make happy so wide audience like they added for example 2 gen Miata, or 3rd gen Clio RS, or Fiesta ST.

I not so long ago commented how Audi is one of manufacturers that need variety to offer, as current road car represented in GT7 is just lame, when you think what Audi has to offer, but I will forget about that and just enjoy R4 and Evo IX.

Isn't she lovely?

Not as lovely as this French Model:

Let's hope there is at least a track in this update, it has been a year since grand Valley
By all accounts there isn't. You also forgot the snow track, Lake Louise, but there's little use for that.

This title needs significant road courses like Silverstone, Montreal, Road America, Sebring, Zandvoort, Indianapolis, COTA. We can't expect them all, but a couple would revitalise the game. As much as GT original tracks can be fun, unless it's a city track I'm not really interested.

I guess we can hope for something more substantial for the 2 year anniversary. It's been pretty lean pickings since Spec II, 4-5 months is plenty enough time to put together something significant.

Original aside (even the concept car) the TT won't go down as a significant car in Audi's history, not when we're missing the Sport Quattro, RS2, RS6. Even something like the RS e-tron GT.

Evo VIII & IX are my favourite Lancers, in fact I owned an Evo VIII MR. But cars like the Escort RS Cosworth, RS200, Sunny GTI-R, 323 GTR, Integrale Evo II, 205 T16, Delta S4, Sport Quattro should all take priority.

If they do want to add another Lancer give us a Group A/WRC version to take on the Celica GT-Four.

My take on the race cars thing is: It's perfectly fine for GT to be a game that focuses on road cars. Especially since modern race cars seem to be the primary-if-not-sole focus of basically every other sim-leaning game at the minute so having a game that doesn't focus on them is honestly refreshing.

But given that, it's incongruous that the online races are so GT3/GT4 heavy, they really should make things line up there. If the car list is going to be mainly road cars, have the events reflect that. Or, if they want race cars to be the focus of the online, then they need to prioritise keeping on the treadmill of adding new ones more. But I don't think the current half-and-half approach does anything but create false expectations for people.
My thoughts exactly

Maybe i am weird, but I would prefer more Sophy races on more tracks over more cars and tracks. I have plenty of cars and many of the tracks in the game could use some more action.

A 10 and 20 lap addition to the current Sophy offerings and on all tracks please.

But something tells me there is more to Sophy than PD is telling us. It's almost as if they are sandbagging it for GT8
Of course sophy is going to be one of tge selling/marketing point for GT8

I didn't forget Lake Louise, I was highlighting how long it's been since we've had a properly new road course.

I don't think the game necessarily needs real circuits but they need well designed ones. No more pitch black tunnels

It would make sense if more homologation specials got added at some point, but don’t forget that many of them are also hard to track down and scan due to rarity. PD can’t just pick and choose freely, and what gets added likely comes down to cars that have been done and cleared for release. There can be multiple obstacles preventing the addition of the cars many people feel should take priority.

Give me a 205 GTi or Rallye over a T16 any day. We already have the T16 Group B car, having the basically non-existent street version would be pointless, IMO. Its one of those cars that's more interesting in real life where you can appreciate the rarity and history of it, whereas in the game its just a slower version of the race car. Same goes for the road going S4 and RS200.

It isn't about having a big following, it's about completionism. You know, having the entire generational line up of a certain model. For example, the C5 Corvette probably doesn't as huge of a following of people compare to other Corvette models, but it is currently the only one missing from the Corvette line up. Once that one is added the Corvette line up can be completed, just as of this current update the TT line up will be completed by having at least one model from each generation.

I first heard about the R4 through this game. The proportions of all the cars are intentionally cartoony and the 4L was given a hotrod appearance. Wasn't aware that it appeared in FH5 as a barn find. Looking forward to trying this out in GT7.

Remember guys...this is essentially a 4 car update :D
Yes, one of the cars is a Renault 4 ;)
Where it not for the Bvlgari VGT being added to the general list then I wouldn't even bother trying GT7 for the new cars - I was done with last months update within 20mins. The new additions are once again a terrible offering.
All of this, and the only thing you're interested in is the Bvlgari? It almost feels like bait.
It’s already in the game
It's so weird that people are so set on declaring an unusable car is technically "in the game". You obviously know that people are talking about the ability to actually use the thing. When a game releases on a date and has an "early release" period, the release date is still considered to be the standard release for everyone. The Bvlgari VGT is in an early release period for people who bought an overpriced watch. Its standard release is in this update.

Yeah. Very odd choice imo. Not particularly memorable car imo. Not high performance, or ebough redeeming qualities about it or held in high regard as landmark car. .not even the new version either.

Like yku say. How on earth did they reach conclusion to add this car, rather than 10's (100's?) Of what I'd imagine would be more appealing to many?

'We have to release the 'standard' mark 2 tt. That'll get large numbers of our customer bases blood pumping...'.

Can think of so many more cars that'd br more inspiring, all things considered.

Similar for other cars in this addition as well.
My guess the asset was largely ready to go from GT6, maybe requiring touch ups on the interior and lights. It’s much quicker of a turnaround to start from there than starting from scratch.

It's funny how the newest Gr. 3 cars we've gotten are make believe concept cars when in reality GT3 spec cars (we all know Gr. 3 is supposed to be GT3 spec) are supposed to be based on road going production cars.
I got a news for ya - Gr.3 isn't 1:1 GT3 spec , yes it got most of the cars from actual GT3 but GT always did their own classes in previous games they mixed fictional race cars with many other groups together

if you want the REAL GT3 - go to ACC or Iracing

I saw a video about the TT a little while ago and seeing the Gen 2 model made me think about it's appearance in GT5, so I'm like, I wouldn't mind driving it again in GT7. It's a bit of a forgotten car and would help to complete the lineup, so I guess I saw it coming. This is exactly the sort of car that needs to be represented in a GT game and we really need more of them. The Renault 4 is an unexpected choice but I wouldn't say that it's a bad one because it has a cult following and some genuine motorsport heritage. But the car that takes the cake for me is the Evo IX. It's absence has been baffling so I'm absolutely delighted to see it return.
