That Land Cruiser alone makes this update worthwhile, in my opinion. Can't wait to see the customization on it.

Literally the only car that I have a "problem" with is the RAV4. From the silhouettes, it seems to be the Japanese version, which means it will either have a CVT (correct me if I'm wrong), or be a Hybrid. So customization potential is going to be limited, either way.

I'm still going to use it though, just because I like slow cars.

I’m glad there’s an update, but I don’t care for any of those cars. Oh well, fortunately we have plenty of great cars already.

I mean, when you look at things like this Japanese fan poll of what cars they want added to GT7, there are definitely a few patterns you can notice which fit more in line with what PD has been adding lately. (Just... excluding number 7. :P)

Maybe we could do a big poll as well, would be nice!

Be good if they could bring with these cars some extra one make daily races, those MX5 at road atlanta would be fun.

Hopefully a time trial with that corsa vgt will arrive with it

I'm still not seeing ND there, as the front edge to windscreen looks too long and proportionally it looks as big a car as the Elantra behind it, even taking perspective into account.

That said, I couldn't say what it is with certainty if it's not an ND.

3 race cars, one of which is fictional too, in 9 months is utterly appalling.

Why? This is a Gran Turismo game. There are plenty of other niche racers with tedious race cars in them on the market/coming to market for that.

It's definitely the 12R. The rear spoiler is very distinctive:

I looked at this again and i mean... even within this list outside of the race cars i'm seeing so many cars that would me me extremely happy. FTO, Altezza, Tommy Kaira ZZ, Legacy, MR2 AW11, Senna... rather have those than a RAV4.

I have good expectations for 3 of the 5 cars:

-Elantra N (one of my most expected cars to come to the game)
-Toyota FJ cruiser
-Mazda MX-5 12R

The RAV4 is a big question mark for me, I think it will depend on the gearbox lol

The Opel VGT not the cup of my tea because it is an EV, even though the design is nice.

Those suggestions are almost all from 2014 though,
Mmm, no.

Obviously a lot are - the forums were created in 2014 and had 130 years of automotive history (less 200 or so cars) to draw upon - and the longer that something has been in there the more votes it's likely to have drawn - but nothing from 2015-2025 can be!

There's always a fascination with newer cars and we have had members competing to be the first to get just-announced cars up. I'd say it's 85:15/80:20 for <=2014 to =>2014.

The Elantra could very well be named Avante, which is the name for it in Korea only afaik. For the Genesis though they used the US spec model, so could be, or not.

In terms of events:
  • The Opel will be a VGT Trophy race, and is slow enough to fit under the PP limit. I'd say this one is certain.
  • The Land Cruiser, if it gets an event, will be Sunday Cup Classic. They gave the Unimog an event despite its slowness so I'd expect this one too.
  • Mazda Roadsters all fit squarely in Japanese FR Challenge 450.
  • If the RAV4 is FF, it'll join the Qashqai in Japanese FF Challenge 450. If it's AWD, it'll join the CR-V in not having an event - C-segment crossovers are too quick for Sunday Cup but too slow for Japanese 4WD Challenge 600.
  • I don't expect the Elantra N to get an event. It has the problem of all the mid-game regional events being Japanese, not Asian, so it doesn't really have a home event it fits in. The Ioniq 5 N got a WTC600 event, but I don't think the Elantra is quick enough for that.

Those suggestions are almost all from 2014 though, I have a feeling people's requests will have changed drastically in that time - especially with all the cars lost in the transition from GT6 to Sport.
I also think it's buried on the site, old, and the format is confusing when compared to just a traditional poll people are familiar with. I went and looked (seems I voted on stuff years ago) and took a second to figure out how it worked/how to vote/how to sort by likes. Could be presented in a much more attractive/engaging way if removed from the forum format. Kinda like when looking at Bring-A-Trailer or Cars & Bids etc. A couple big, clear, nice photos of the real car that you can quickly vote on right up front with the option to click into it, get a description and maybe links to a few videos about it. Unfortunately, I don't know how to make websites. You'd also have to worry about the pathetic people who would want to hack or artificially affect the votes.

Always believed Polyphony would do well to make actual polls themselves as they probably have much better visibility. I think maybe other community managers/games have done that for things like fighting characters before? If they made occasional polls for cars and tracks, it would be very interesting. Or I guess bare minimum, put up a post for a car on the GT Instagram account (or make a dedicated one) and then gauge interest based on the number of "Likes" a post gets vs others.

Touching on that Japanese voted poll earlier.. That's a crazy list lol

As for this update.. Eh? Elantra N is a good addition, though not one I'm personally interested in. Game desperately needs NB and NC Miatas before another ND, but it's not the worst. Land Cruiser is cool but not particularly useful. RAV4 & VGT are not interesting/useless to me.
