I think the opposite. I think an installment could work well with said system if done right. Between now and GT6 anyways.

Much rather have a new Tourist Trophy on the Vita tbh. Could even make for some interesting use of the touch panel and internal accelerometer in controlling the bikes

It could just be ported by some third party company...

Why not just port and re-package GT4 with some newer cars and tracks?

Play a racing game with thumb sticks. Eww.

Maybe a dedicated BSpec App for the Vita would be nice, where you log in with your PSN but it doesn't need the PS3 to be on to run BSpec races.

That would be fantastic, for both GT5 and GT6.

Or ... make GT5 compatible with remote play. You can control your PS3 via your Vita over the internet or local network.

I just done a UMD Passport and 1000 yen for a DL version :D

I've thinking about it and there is a problem. 500.000 poly cars - can Vita handle this?

GT Vita = Profitable = Lots of money

Lots of money = Families fed, people employed and some greed = Sony

Of course they'll make it.

Fixed it for you.

On topic: I hear Vita will be near as powerful as a ps3...Port gt4 with the newer models and some online/adhoc features.

Most informational OP of 2012 right there.

I hope it doesn't happen until after GT6. They need to focus they're time on making one game at a time. At the end of the day after all the work is done, then you can start playing around with ideas. I'd rather not have them promise GT6, then start working on other ideas while we wait another six years for a sixth installment in the main series. That's what happened with GT5, I don't want it to happen again for GT6.

The cars are only 500,000 polys in the highest LoD setting, on the vita's small but awesome screen they wont need to be anywhere near that detailed to look awesome.

Lets hope not.

PD are quite a small team and GT5 was definitely stretching them. Working on that at the same time as GTPSP probably didn't help matters.

Would much rather they just concentrated on DLC, updates which can also be used in a full blown sequel.

Nothing currently points to even that vita will ever make money to sony. End of dedicated handheld era is close.

Of course they'll make it.

Most consoles do not make money at the start, it usually takes a year or two and thousands of units before they are actually profitable. PS3 took some time before it actually made money.

I doubt they'd make one with new resources. I think they may make a GTV (presuming the name) if they just use re-hashed data/coding from GT4, GT5, and GTPSP.

I'm sure Sony will force PD to make an "GT" brand game for the vita. Just hope that it won't cost too much GT6 dev time...

I've been searching what this is and I still don't understand it? All I know is that it's like the new version of the PSP and that it's 300 dollars. I thought I saw that you could play ps3 games on it? So I'm confused, someone mind explaining?

Wikipedia is our friend. :) If you haven't already:

PS Vita

It's the response to the Wii U. They are making a more powerful PSP with additional options.

Question is where did they get those car models? If Vita can handle (to say) 50-100.000 poly cars then PD need to make those car models again.I hope not!

So is GT5 on Vita via remote play?

We won't have Vita for a couple months anyway in NA. We'll see, unless it's already been announced.

They will already exist, any 3d model in a game exist in several (usually 3-10) Levels of Detail which the game switches back and forth from depending on how far from that object the camera is, those cars going around a corner at the end of a straight may consist of only a couple of thousand poly's.

Space sims are the most obvious users you will be flying upto a large ship and at a certain distance it will suddenly pop into a higher detail model.

But those LOD'ed models barely fits PD quality standards! :)
I mean they are made for viewing from far distance, on Vita you will look at them very close.

I hope not. Especially since the Vita isn't selling well in Japan.
