It would be lovely to change the street cars into race spec GT3 race cars @05XR8. Being able to have a complete GT3 championship would be great, I for one would be trying to do flips and ending up breaking something if we had that options. It would add that extra element to the United Motorsports Club Championships.

GT500 & GT300 Tracks:
Suzuka 1000km
Motegi Road Course 250km
Fuji Speedway F 300km & 500km
Missing: Autopolis, Okayama, Sepang and Sugo*

*Can use Willow Springs, Brands Hatch, Apricot Hill and Daytona Road Course

GT3 Tracks:
Monza
Silverstone
Spa 24H
Nurburgring F 1000km
Nurb 24H
Mount Panorama Bathurst 12H
Missing: Paul Ricard*

*Can use Ascari as alternative

Itll be interesting to see what PD have done with these series and what people come up with in creating their own championships.

There will be a number of GT3 and SuperGT and others series popping up here soon, I just hope they'll stay true to the roots. I can see a few doing so but not all.

Okay. Time to school. GT1 seems to be causing some confusion here.
In the late 90's, the cars people seem to think were GT1 (aka R390 GT-1, Toyota GT-One, CLK LM, Panoz GTR-1) all ran in the LMP-GT class (or was it LM-GTP? Long time ago). Basically closed cockpit LMP's. GT1 was the category the Vipers etc ran in.
Later, categories changed, LMP's were all put into one class, closed or open cockpit, LMP900.
GT1, became GTS, running at around 550-600 BHP ar le mans.
GT1 evolved into an FIA series only category, running mega touring cars like the Masaerati MC12, TVR Speed 12, Gillet Vertigo, Mosler M900 and the Marcos Mantis.
GT1 was disbanded in 2009, and is no longer raced.
Hope this was helpful, good day GT fans!

GT3 cars because they are newer.

They should have put more of the newer GT500 cars. I mean we have the 2012 HSV, but what about the SC and the GT-R?

Incorrect, in the late 90s(till 1999) the GT1 class was still Production based but didn't have much regulation on how many cars had to be made for the road thats why you got pure Race car looking cars coming in with 1 off street versions, in 1999 they made it so that you had to make more cars and all the GT1 class cars that Competeted in 1998 where now considered LMP-GT as they didn't meet the requirement.

IMO it was the best regulation as it allowed Production based cars to Compete for Overall victory which was pretty much a first since the 1960s, although it made it impossible for privateers to stand a chance against Factory teams in this class they soon found out later that no matter what the regulation its going to be the case.2 years after it implemented the factory team count dropped

It's taken a very long time for Endurance racing to Recover from the rule change as the Factory team count went from 5(6 if you count the semi-factory Risi Ferraris) to 1(Audi).

You are indeed correct. I should have made it more clear that I was talking specifically about post '99. And I also agree, endurance racing really isn't what it used to be. Last year at Le Mans, only Toyota and Audi ran P1, as it would seem other teams have been priced out of it, due to some crappy regulations that only cause the sport to be, well, boring. Where's the variety? There were LMP's from Mercedes, Panoz, Cadillac, Ferrari, BMW and more.
It used to br an all stars race where everyone had a chance but now, nothing even close. And how the Deltawing got accepted for pit 51 ahead of the Super GT champions of that year is beyond me. It's all a damn shame.

The Maserati MC12 is indeed a GT1 car, as is the TVR. The TVR ran in the British GT GT1 class, but never ran in FIA GT. In fact, it may have only been nationally homologated, which would explain it's international absence.

The Marcos Mantis never ran in GT1, but it's bigger brother, the LM600, did run in the GT2 category during the 90's; as we know, that category evolved into the GTS/GT1 of the early 2000's. The Mantis did have a racing career, being the car of choice for many teams in the Belcar series, as well as British GT. You can still see the Mantis in British club racing today, and Cor Euser still campaigns his famous multi-coloured LM600 on occasion in the Supercar Challenge series.

The Gillet Vertigo never ran in GT1 either, though one was entered (and outpaced) in the BPR GT2 class, and the FIA GT GT2 class in 1996-97. It ran in Belcar for many years during the late 90's and 2000's. During this time, it was also a regular sight in the FIA GT series. It was in the 'G2' class, which catered for nationally homologated cars which could not be entered in the main GT1 and GT2 categories.

The Mosler MT900R is also not a GT1 car. It has, much like the Vertigo, raced in the FIA GT series as a 'G2' car with national homologation. The car was a mainstay in British GT and Belcar for much of the 2000's, and is often seen today in the Britcar series, which caters for various forms of GT and Touring car. It is also regularly entered into the Belgium/Netherlands based Supercar Challenge.

It was an awesome era of racing! 👍

I can’t say that I’m surprised to see what measures people have done to continue what I call the dreaded GT5 virus. Don’t get me wrong everyone is entitled to play as they see fit, but the norm has return. Seeing a lobby with a multitude of the same cars on track and the same drives up front, nothing really diverse as in quality and tuning methods as the current formula run the cars as fallows. GT3 600pp, Super GT 500 565pp, Super GT 300 600pp, LM/TC 580pp (The last time I ran in a lobby with these numbers) with some alterations in number for the GT-R and the SLS as they were slower than the other GT3 cars for some reason, the current runner cars are the Dome, M3 and the Nissan Calsonic and maybe a few others. We have two cars showing up again at the top of the list and the new comer showing off the legs.

I haven’t had a chance to run in a lobby with the format and not sure I will any time soon due to upcoming events. Has anyone here besides the people on my list run these numbers after the update?

I hate how GT3 cars drive. Seriously. Understeer and oversteer at the same time? WTF is this?

GT300 is basically GT500 Junior, and they are quite less exciting than the superior class.

GT500 for me.

I like the the feel of both GT500 and GT300 as it feels very smooth and I also like the car designs (they look pretty different compared to their Road versions unlike GT3 and that is what I like about race cars). I've also been a huge fan of the Super GT series so I might be a bit biased. GT3 feels very awkward (I had to search for good tunes for every GT3 car because they are all unstable) in this game and I've never really been a fan of any GT3 championship except BES.

I pick GT500 over GT300 because GT500 has one of my favourite cars (Honda NSX GT500).

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to do the Super GT500 event for the 10th time :dopey:.

Unless PD makes some stealth models of some GT3 cars, i'll be with my GTR GT500 Stealth Model

I find the GT3 cars a lot "cooler" than the GT500 and GT300 ones. I'm quite sad that there's only a couple of them in the game.
Same here. I really want a much bigger list of them. For that matter, all the FIA GT Classes and DTM, even if PD has to fudge a few fantasies. I really wish they would, and convert some of the Ferraris and Lambos into GT Class race cars, Aston Martins, Jaguars... lots of cars into race cars. But maybe that's coming up in a new Race Mod build. There was a lot of whining about how few cars could be RMed in GT5, and such meager livery templates for them.

Here's hoping we get them, one of these updates. ;)

Depends how competitive online drivers will be in such cars, some people just cannot ahndle the power of GT500, which is annoying becuase it makes much less competition as I'm just racing against typical potatoes, but more people online can handle GT300, and not be as potato, thus meaning to be more competitive.

In other words, I wish I could race GT500 with competititve players, but that never seems to exist, so GT300 it is for at least a little bit of challenge for me.

It's telling. After running my RJN GT-R for 2589kms and the HSV for 739kms, the Super GT series offline, is lacking the newer cars to make me want to play it more. Even if half the field were mixed with GT300 & GT3 with 8 cars GT500 cars, I'd probably prefer it over the GT3 series. The 600pp races have a mixed bag of GT3 and GT1/GT2/TC cars in those series. And shame on PD for giving us six HSVs(count 'em) to play with and no 2011-up Nissan or Lexus to enjoy.
