I just tried it a Trial Mountain, it's very sensitive, can be very fast but the margin of error is very slim. A few times after braking the body would slip sideways, had to ease in more in the braking zone than I usually do. Something that happened quite often while turning was that all the tires turned red except the front inside (and on occasion the rear inside), the car would slip sideways. (is that how you got the name of the project?) I really love the way the car feels for turning but I wish that it would hold a little more while doing it. It feels more like one of those alien cars, fast but be precise. Nice work, hope that the test drivers are better than me and can exploit the car to it's full potential. BTW, I still haven't had time to try the modification you did to the Elise, I will one day, but when???????????

Yeah its a pure time attack car for Autumn Ring reverse, its not an easy car to drive by a long shot but if you can get used to it then there aren't many that will go faster. I would probably run a different setup for a fast bumpy track like trial mountain, maybe raise the dampers by a click and increase the brake balance to stabilise the car a bit more.
Thank you for testing it though, I might be able to give your Maserati a test today at some point 👍

Wonderful tune, such a shame I ended up not having time to do one myself...

Excellent at what it was made to do, but it requires such a specific line to drive safely, that it can't really handle racing with other cars that could take the spot it needs. Or at least, I can't drive it and win with other cars on the track.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Its a bit of a beast but once you get to know her she's not so bad, needs to be driven with aggression and precision to get the most out of it. As you say though, shes not a racer, got the speed but won't take well to dog fighting and doesn't take prisoners when you cross the limit 👍

Just did some laps on your favorite track, "Brands Hatch" , this one has got your signature all over it , nice and easy to control, good speed, I know FF cars are not your first love but you did do a great job on this one, but I never was able to open the sun roof, why put it if you can't use it? If I get a chance I'll be trying your Esprit and the new setup for your Elise. I also found a few tunings by some of our alien residents, the only trouble with them is they were all done with SRF, still going to see what they did. So until the next post,.

Hi Mister Dolhaus,
With friends we organize a championship of running(race) of GT3.
So as " to try " to balance cars, particularly difficult thing with these :banghead:, we opted for a ratio weight / power of 2,10. Having tested PP, then Power, then + weight this way seemed to us rather just.
You could express your opinion:D

I know that you didnt ask me, but real GT3's run a power/weight more around 2.5-2.6, so your races will be very fast compared to real times, but that only matters if you are trying to emulate the real series.

Thank you for your answer, you are completely right but I play with almighty which want a max of emotion (lol)

I've tested pretty much all the tunes for this car on here & this one suits my driving style the most. One problem i have is the aero kit & flat floors are so ugly. Over the last couple of days i've tried to make small adjustments to this tune after losing both the aero kit & flat floors but i just cannot get it to handle as nicely as i would like it. I've kept the PP at 600 & added a custom spoiler. If you have any spare time would it be possible for you to try & see what you can do with it please? No probs if not but i had to ask :)

I will try and give it a look at some point but I have the feeling it will be an almost complete retune due to the way the car was originally spec'd.
Unfortunately because the car is running downforce and ballast the spring rates will need to be adjusted if I remove these to meet PP without touching the power parts. If I add power parts then I will have to adjust the dampers, LSD and transmission. I can't just make a few small adjustments and sort the car out, this car is very finely balanced so small changes can have big impacts and completely upset the tune

Thanks for your reply. This probably explains why i was having problems then as i was just making small adjustments to your tune.

If the car is running no aero at all but keeping the ballast then try reversing the front and rear spring rates, if the car feels like its oversteering too much then switch or level the ARBs as well. If the car feels too stiff once this is all done then try multiplying the spring rates by .95 on a calculator 👍

The problem with ballast and downforce from a tuning perspective is that it changes both the the static weight distribution and the weight distribution when the car is moving, the spring rates directly relate to this weight distribution so if you change one thing then you have to change them all :banghead:

What sort of laptimes were you getting with this setup around the mountain?

Highly appreciated & no doubt worth the wait.

Around 2:08 I think? Bit out of practice on the circuit though and the car is setup for feel rather than pace.
Been watching some of the V8SC highlights and I think it drives like I imagine they would, you can feel the weight of the car and the low down guts of the engine but its reasonably forgiving and simple at the limit.
I think they got the PP of this car way off though, its just not competitive in its class no matter what you do to it unfortunately

I used to have the exact gear ratios & maximum speeds in each gear written down somewhere but I can't find them anymore.
I do know that a V8 Supercar of that era was on the 7500rpm rev limit in 5th gear at the end of Mountain Straight, the limit in 4th just before Skyline & at 302km/h in 6th as they entered the Chase of Conrod Straight. The fastest qualifying time in 2000 was a 2:11:8882 set by Mark Skaife in a Commodore.
It would be incredibly difficult to exactly replicate this car as they had a locked diff that turned both wheels at exactly the same speed and as a result, a fairly unique setup that required braking right up to the apex of a corner. This diff would also effect rear tyrewear & from my experience with this car in GT5 & GT6, it always wears the front tyres faster than the rears. That's the complete opposite of what the Ford drivers endured in real life.
I totally agree with you about the PP. I think PD have taken into account the BHP & weight of the car but not the aerodynamics. Yes the Falcon has front & rear spoilers but they don't provide that much downforce.

 I don't know if I should be sad because I'm trying to find myself a good set-up for this right now, and you've done it first, or happy because someone else has done all the hard work and I can get on with the other few thousand things I have on my plate!?

Nice one mate! My favourite rally car by far, so I'll be checking this out at some point real soon.👍
Thanks for posting!

It was the first car that popped up when I started the seasonal events so I thought I'd give it a go. I quite like the car now after spending some time in it, good fun and easy to drive fast in the snow. Little bit of understeer in the long fast corners due to the heavy nose but easy enough to deal with, was getting into the high 1:12's by the end. Looking at an RS200 next...

Well, I'll steer clear of that one then.

I was liking the look of the Pajero myself
