PS: Isn't that a CF Accord? We don't have CF Accords in the states. It is very confusing to find parts for my LX Accord (CG6 is the chassis code) such as Endless brake pads and Blitz Intakes and its a risk of buying them home because you never know they will work or not. Neither do we have CL Accords (Euro-R)...

well pretty much all teh drifiters in japan r asian, now arnt they, and those r japanese plates, which means that accords been in quite a few races, and its only the rich asian that drive badly, my family drives fine except 4 my cousin who likes to speed while hes got his 2 year old son in the back

Yeah, everyone in Japan is Asian. There aren't many "round-eyes" here. Just because it has Japanese plates doesn't mean that it's been in a lot of races. I'm sure that specific Accord has been due to the front bumper. Well, your cousin is teaching his 2 year old son a lot of bad habits. :)

oops, forgot to put 'American' as to 'classic example of how Asian Americans drive recklessly and keep scratching their bumper kits. there is NO way you can get ground effects when the freeway is not smooth!'.

Well rich asian americans drive badly is related to how rich asian american parents treat them.

i dunno, but by the time my cousins kid is 5 he'll b deaf thanks to the Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust, its loud enuf outsite but inside the car and in teh back seat is hell, oh well, hopefully when i get my own car, it'll b better

lol... back in hs i knew a kid who totalled his is first year taking a turn without abs on... he also had 4 people in the car... including himslef... he was the son of an orthodontist...

anyways...

i hate this about bay area drivers on 280 101 and 880...
i hate people who change infront and go slow ( the times when its like they see you but change anyways)
i hate people who change three lanes at a time to exit in less than 100 ft
i hate people who leave there turn signals on forever ( esp in traffic)
i hate people who go into the lane that is about to merge and think they can cut...
oh that last one makes me esp mad if its in traffic and they are being the biggest ASS

LOL I *used to* do all those. Switching three lanes, cutting in front of the big rigs, battle with 4x4s etc etc. Dangerous stuff. At that time I was driving extremely recklessly and wondering 'why are they goin so slow!!!!? if everyone drives fast there wont be any accidents!' Rite now I drive much slower than before and let others have their fun. There is actually a reason for this and its not for safety nor becuase I got a ticket (never got one).

It is true by the way, that if everyone drives faster, accident rates become less - it's the SEVERITY of the accident that prevents people from offensive driving. Its basically a two-edged sword.

lol i dont drive slow... it just irks me when people drive stupid... like changing infront of me and then going slow... y not wait for me to go and then change...

i also wonder y people drive below the speedlimit on roads and freeways... i guess its what they like but i think the should be shot jk jk jk...

its ok to drive fast as long as you are not drive like a dumb arse... i mean be prepared to drive defensively due to other stupidity and all... but as long as you drive well and arent posing a threat to other people drive how you want... dont drive wreckless tho... sucks for you your car and your passengers if you get in a accident...

the worst are the first and last of what i said...

19xx

if everyone drove faster there would always be people... i would prolly be one of them... going a bit faster thant he rest... and the slow people would still drive slow... just cause that is how they are... so the same stuff would happen... plus if there was traffic and you were going 90 and above you might not be able to stop in time on some parts of freeways just cuase...

lol i dont really hate people who do that... it just irks the hell outta me... i am not very patient but i will not go all road rage on someone for doing something stupid...

everyone makes mistakes even me... lol...

wow, seeing from a 'I NEED an AE86 BAD' topic to meeting a drifter from Japan to global street racing, I think there is a need of creating another topic...

bengee, there is a huge difference between driving fast to San Francisco at 5 am Monday morning and driving fast to San Francisco at 2 am Saturday morning. Its quite an amazing scene.

to sf from where... i have driven to est bay from sf at 1 in the morning... empty bay bridge lol... kinda weird... i can imagine what fast would be or could be... not that i have ever done that tho...

as i said i do not drive slow... but i also do not drive unsafe... i dont have the money to put into a car to make it go real fast or even the money to upkeep a car constantly at high revs...

i was talkinga bout people driving too fast at 5 pm... where ever possible

From Vallejo (I-80) and San Jose (I-880).

In Monday morning people drive around 90 and accidents are kept at a minimum because after all, they're businessman and driving for them is a transportation. Basically you fit into this category bengee. 90% are economic cars, with some turn their cruise control on. When in jam, they watch newspapers.

At 2am on Saturday morning you'll see souped up Civics, Integras, BMWs, Mustangs, some Benz, some Lancer, some Cameros, VERY OLD ACCORDS, etc etc. weaving around. Most are pretty weak and very accident prone. However they all have one thing in common - when they see a Ford Crown Victoria at night, whether its a Cop, Taxi or civilian car, they press their brakes HARD :)

Of course, at 5pm on weekdays weaving through traffic is dangerous... you should see highway 17 (San ho to Santa Cruz). They just have a 10 car chain crash last Friday and that is NOT UNCOMMON.

oh man 17 is crazy... took it once goin to santa cruz the trucks are scary...

i feel you on that crown victoria thing.... lol

i am not a business man but i do fit the driving for transportation category... if i was gonna do it for hard core sport i would need a stable income.... poor me i am a poor student making enough money for food... lol

I just looked up on the net and the Japan Auto Salon starts in January 9, 2004. Can't wait to stay in Super Hotel and mess with those fine girls again! Gotta plan for airplane tickets...

Almost midnight...

comon tom, we need sum pics, im diein to c

No camera, no money left, nothing until next month...:(

 Very funny, but this topic will never die, never!

I don't know much about California, so I can't comment on how they drive there, but all those things you listed that bad drivers do, I completely agree. Switching lanes in front of me when I'm speeding is the thing I hate most. Last time it happened, an old lady was in her car.

If you really think of coming up here for the TAS, let me know because I don't live far from the convention centre. I have a big house for Tokyo, so you won't have to spend money on an expensive hotel...

Yup, that just pisses me off. It happened twice where I almost died. Once going about 120km/h, and the other time... topping out my car...

exactly what i was talking about... if i am breaking the law... get out of my way... jk jk jk

We ALL know that... that's a false statement. ;)

-Tom

thank you... that is what i usually drive at... on freeways... 75 to 80... above that i fear for my cars longevity... hehehe

man lan evo you read that thread about drifting in gt3 forum... very very judgemental epople ehhh.... seems as if they hate all drifters... like a form of race- ism...

Wow, I know a big house over there is like 1 million USD. Its crazy! People have to live in cars and starve in order to earn money for modding! ;)

Before my final decision of going to TAS, I have to create potent strategies of how to hunt effectively first HAHAHAHAHA

The super hotel I stayed in Chiba is the cheapest one there is. Only 5000 yen (close to 45 USD) and it has twice the quality of a Motel 6 (crappy hotel hahaha). I mean the restrooms is rather small but is more than perfect once you've hunted one LOL

in sf big houses are generally 1.5 and up... i am fairly sure that tokyo is more expensive... the suburbs like chiba maybe slightly cheaper... i have relatives in chiba... havent seen them for a while tho... since 4 years ago... and chiba is not really a town...

explain please i dont comprehend...

Sorry, I misread your comment earlier.

75mph might not seem much, but it was on a small street that the speed limit is 80km/h...

Our house is pretty large compared to most homes here. I'm not sure on how much it is, but my dad's family pretty much payed for it.

chiba is not really a town...

True, Chiba-ken is actually a prefecture. This would be similar to a county in the U.S. Damn good races there too.

You mean to tell me you work at TRD? :) Do you happen to know who was involved in designing the TRD street springs for the AW11? I have a bone to pick with them. :p

In the US, TRD is kind of a joke. "Makers of fine shift knobs and hats", they say. TRD USA is mostly about appearance, except when it comes to trucks and sedans. Can you believe TRD USA makes a bolt-on Supercharger for the trucks and the Camry Solara, but not one Supercharger for a sports car like the MR-S or Celica? Sad...

I got my AW11 springs from TRD Japan, which TRD USA actually sells (amazing). But I will soon be ditching them in favor of coilovers.
