He clearly states that the video is made up of different attempts, the starting screen is not showing the settings for subsequent laps, if that makes sense!

The video is edited to show different parts of different attempts.

That is correct. I showed multiple parts of the demo, not necessarily in the shooting order.

at 0:53 , there is a cut. the Time trial part is played with pro physics. Race part is in standard.

I'm sorry if I created misunderstanding. I'll post the present message in the youtube description.

It's ok :-)

Did you not see the part where the leMans car want into a solid wall at over 100MPH and did barely anything at all?

If there was rollover, we would have seen it 100% in that crash.
Why? If that happened in real life the car would just crumple into a mess of bits, not flip over. It takes a pretty freak thing to get an LMP car to flip, not only is their CoG stupidly low but they had tremendous down force as well. Besides, even if there was no roll over enabled in this race, the damage was only limited to scratches so maybe that's another factor. There's no reason to be skeptical about roll over not being in because of this demo or related videos.

Thanks Aleksander! That cockpit view looks SO good. I am PRAYING for PD to include the option to turn off the UI, but something tells me they just wouldn't think of that.

Ahem...

In that cockpit video how is the players peugeot so faster than the AI. Is it an easy difficulty or something. The car should be running approx the same pace.

The car is running faster because the AI doesn't drive like they are invincible, the driver was flooring the pedal, the AI drives as if damage is always on and the race is set for more than one lap.

That car flipping in the video was because of wrong spring rates and downforce miscalculations and also the unpredictability of wind IRL. This sort of thing is very rare indeed as many precautions are taken to keep vehicles glued to the road to prevent this very situation from occurring.

The guy driving was pretty much a lead foot, hard on the gas, then hard on the brake and late braking too. Horrible display if you ask me. Sebastian Loeb is pretty good at driving, without the driving line on too considering he was lacking feel of a real car and the g forces tearing at his body, he did very well. I can't wait to get my hands on this.

In a public demo PD are not going to have full damage and the highest difficulty level enabled otherwise most people would end their race on the first corner.

Do you even know why that car took off? It had nothing to do with hitting a barrier at 100mph.

As I said, it takes a pretty freak thing to get an LMP car to flip, that's exatly what happened there, it was a freak incident that's happened maybe twice. Once thoes old GT1 cars did get airborne the aerdnamics worked against them because they almost caught he wind like a kite with the large flat undersides.

But I suppose I should thank you, you went some way to proving my point.

What if a modern day LMP1 car got turned around at top speed? wouldn't all the areo parts suddenly start working in reverse, causing the car to flip up backwards into the air?

It happens in NASCAR, and they have half the downforce and weigh about 1250lbs more.

hmmmm?

I think premium tracks are ones that have day/night cycles and dynamic weather.

Lets hope!:O

We talked about it a little in the general discussion thread yesterday. I'll try and find which page.

Edit: Here is the link for the first post regarding the discussion. I wasn't the first to raise the question by the way. So, I can't take all of the credit.

It says premium, and many have come to believe a "premium" track is a track that has day night cycles and/or dynamic weather.

Yes but the point is, if you hit the barrier you loose speed and thus the lift in this scenario. It's also worth remembering that the car is going uphill in this instance, and its due to the the car infront's slipstream which caused this weird phenomena. Non of those to factors are present when you slam into a barrier.
