Motorcycles in GT6?

Personally I feel that motorcycles might be a bit too much for PD to handle at this point. For motorcycles they would have to map an entirely new collision detection system, along with new animations for things like handlebars, wheelies, stoppies, and leaning (for superbikes like Ducatis and Suzukis).

Licensing also comes into play, for big-time motorcycle companies like Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Ducati. One point to contradict this however is the inclusion of KTM, who also produce motorcycles. If GT6 were to include motorcycles, I feel that PD might develop their own design for a motorcycle, and allow players to purchase it under their Gran Turismo dealership in GT6, rather then spend time attempting to receive license rights from real companies.

This being said, yes I would like to see the inclusion of motorcycles, but if it's a bit too much to fit on PD's plate at the moment, then I won't be too hurt about it.

Except that PD have form in all of those areas with TT, so they're known, and largely "solved", issues. In terms of asset production and, potentially, physics tuning (there is only one physics), it's possible that it's too much at the moment.

I can wait, though.

We don't need 200 premium motorbikes just a few. Even ported from TT. If we have 800 standard cars from GT4 and we can also have some bikes from TT.

I'd like a TT2 for ps4
But you have right...

Do you mean you are right? That sounds like the German way to say it...

Anyways, bikes would be cool but PD needs to focus on one thing at a time.

It seems that it's really English that's the weird one on that; perhaps we like to think of ourselves as wholly morally just: "you are right", rather than just our ideas: "you have (it) right". :p

Anyway...
I don't think PD should focus on one thing at a time at all - games production is a parallel process, serialising it would be catastrophic!

It'll be okay as long as they won't be on track at same time.

I would LOVE to race a Honda superbike against an MP4-12C gt3 (if its included) around Dunsfold (if its included), it'd make for epic racing actually.

I'm torn on issue and why? For one thing I want a standalone TT2, but it would be great to have bikes/atv in GT6 assuming that motorcycles are a standalone thing....

LOL, the reason why GT will never have bikes is because it's not profitable for PD. Why would they put bikes in GT when they can come out with Tourist Trophy 2 and make money off of that? Bikes in GT will never happen.

Actually, they can probably make more money by adding a TT DLC pack for GT6 than a standalone TT2 would (especially given the sales of the orginal TT compared with any GT-game), DLC wasn't possible in the PS2 days however so they had no choice other than releasing it on disc.

Gran Turismo is the "Real Car Simulator" not a motorbike ride simulator. I like motorbikes too, but I think the two should be kept separate, especially since the physics would have to be different, etc. I rather they concentrate on making Gran Turismo as realistic as possible for car lovers.

It annoys me too that in real life they mix motorbikes in with cars on drag racing, we go there to see cars, not motorbikes. As soon as the bikes come on, 90% of people use that time to go to the toilet, have a walk, grab some food, etc.

And don't even get me started on modified car magazines that have near-nude women next to the cars, if I want to see that I can buy a different type of magazine with no cars in it if you know what I mean.

Cars in a car game...Motorcycles in motorcycle game...Perhaps in 10 years when technical developement has improved...Another thing is that game developers/producers will like to sell You 2 games, not only one....

Ok fine, let me refrase it then: Gran Turismo is "The Real Driving Simulator" not the real riding or flying or fishing or, well you get my point.

PD didn't make a flying or fishing game yet, but they did make a riding game so it's not ridiculous for people wishing to include both cars and bikes in one game (even if it's just for the sake of convenience, although most just think this might be the quickest and only way to experience TT again), and especially when the games share so much content like tracks it would make sense to offer optional TT DLC to import into GT6 (perhaps with a separate TT mode so they won't even 'pollute' GT as some seem to fear).

They could even make more money through offering it as DLC (TT didn't sell even close to what most GT-games do, and with a huge GT user base some might be persuaded to buy it out of curiosity whilst not necessarily buying a separate game on disc) and it would surely mean less time spend on making another full game (in fact, I'll be satisfied if they just included the bikes, online filtering options and nothing more, I'll figure out how to use and enjoy them).

But why do people always refer to that slogan? It's just a meaningless slogan which could easily be changed if TT was incorporated (or with an extra slogan like 'incorporating the real riding simulator'), nevermind that nobody seems to question the 'real' part as being the issue here.
In fact, after 15 years it might be time for a new slogan.
