Edit: Due to unforseen circumstances I will probably not be able to run a BoP test session lobby today (June 17th). It's up to the moderators or anyone else if they want to take my place as host and run some testing with the community.

Some progress had been made for the Season 4 BoP.

Me and JoeOfTheFire tested the LMP1 cars and we came to some conclusions:

- The car list has been updated. The Dodge SRT Tomahawk takes the place of the Hyundai N2025. This means that the car list is as follows:

2011 Audi R18 TDI ultra
2016 Audi R18
2017 Dodge SRT Tomahawk LMP spec
2017 Mazda LM55 LMP spec
2010 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP
2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid
2012 Toyota TS030 Hybrid
2016 Toyota TS050 Hybrid

The Hyundai is way, way slower than the rest of the field and has pretty poor handling.

- Each car will be limited to 2 drivers, which would result to one team per car.
This rule would be in effect for the GT class as well.

- The current BoP (the one provided by Polyphony) is rigged, to say the least.
The results of the test session at Circuit de la Sarthe were as follows:

1. 2011 Audi R18 TDI
2. 2016 Audi R18 (+0,700 sec)
3. 2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid (+1,000 sec)
4. 2017 Mazda LM55 (+1,000 sec)
5. 2016 Toyota TS050 Hybrid (+2,000 sec)
6. 2012 Toyota TS030 Hybrid (+2,500 sec)

The results of the test session at Interlagos were the following:

1. 2017 Mazda LM55 (1:17,115)
2. 2016 Audi R18 (1:17,550)
3. 2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid (1:17,630)
4. 2016 Toyota TS050 Hybrid (1:17,668)
5. 2012 Toyota TS030 Hybrid (1:18,063)

- The BoP will be adjusted based on not only the pace of the car, but its fuel economy and tyre health as well.

- No longboi. The Nissan has too much tyre wear to keep up with the rest of the car list.

In all fairness tho that looks about right from some of the stuff I just messed with, thing is though is we're then limiting for the time being to only 12 running vehicles

Thanks for sharing your findings. What I'm looking for in terms of BoP is for the non hybrids to be slightly faster on high speed circuits, while the hybrids are slightly faster on lower speed/more technical circuits. The TS030, as what I call a 'half-hybrid' due to how weak it's system is, should be roughly in the middle in terms of pace.

At least that's what I was thinking. :D

Oh, and I'll try my best to have the announcement post of who made what split for S4 (if they choose to enter) up this week. Sorry for the delay on that. Note that whatever split you are in, you can still team up with anyone. I might consider opening the 'Driver Market' officially when that post is made, or I might wait until we have completed our LMP BoP.

On a different subject, I was considering banning the Volkswagen VGT Gr.3 for safety reasons (no roof, no halo).

Hi guys. Unfortunately real life is getting in the way of BoP testing for me again this week. I apologize for this. It's up to the moderators or anyone else willing to organize a test session without me.

I'm announcing that BoP testing will officially begin tomorrow. Anyone is welcome to test the cars and give me feedback.

Estimated start time: 18:00 BST
Estimated end time: Midnight BST

EDIT: I will be hosting a session today. Track will be Suzuka. Room will open at 21:00 BST and will run till midnight.

You know what, you seem to know what you're doing. @CrazyJohn is now officially in charge of the BoP for the LMP category.

I'd also go for Joe. It seems we are working very well when testing.
Well yes, but I choose you to be the main organiser for test sessions as you are an official moderator. Joe might get moderator status in the future, but for now I trust the job to you. Of course, anyone is allowed to help the moderators by participating in test sessions and sending data. If you so wish, @DrifterJoe can become your personal assistant to help you with your new assignment. :D

We're mostly even on pace (varies slightly between cars), which helps, so it's a case of 2 heads being better than one, and having 2 sets of similar data helps confirm things. That and having good enough setups on the cars for fair testing at each car's true pace.
