If you call a bunch of stores this will only get worse! When it's out, it's out! Till then, I'll just play my japanese copy.
 
Calling the stores probably won't reveal anything. Unless you happen to get one of the stores who already has the shipment, and happen to speak with someone who's seen them and wants to tell you about it.. otherwise, they'll just spout off whatever release date their corporate offices have told them to spout off.

I really hope this is a legit thing that is happening here! I read throught the forums at IGN and it sounds good to me. Several people there have gone around to different Circuit City stores and can confirm that they have GT4 👍 Now wether or not there are a bunch of people on IGN that are jerkin our strings, well lets just pray and hope thats not the case! And if North America is getting GT4 on Jan 18, this is just great because Iwould love to rub it in all of those European dumies on this site that are making a big deal about how they are getting GT4 before us, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

let me also note that the IGN boards have been very well known to be full of immature teenages that love to screw around with people at ever opportunity :nervous: :dopey:

there are no camera pictures of the boxes with the product, yet "people have gone to the stores to see them"
and i'm sure many of those people have access to cameras. :dopey:

Yeah, I know, but it just sounds right to me. They originaly thought that North America was going to get it 2 weeks after Japan, well, now it would only be exactly three weeks... I have been seeing GT 4 comercials on TV... It's not uncommon for stores to get game early... In order to ship around 3 million copies to North America, they have to ship to some stores, like Circuit City, early so all the other ones, like Best Buy, will get theirs on time...

I think that by tomorrow, more stroes will begin to get there copies...

I use to work at BestBuy, if I wanted too I could walk into storage and start digging around, enough people know me well there. I'll stop by tomorrow and see if they have any, I'll also stop by CC too...

Just wondering why Sony wouldn't put out a date, especially when its a week away. Then again, I pre-ordered from BestBuy and the date on the print out that I got was March 16th, dunno why BestBuy would put out a March 16th date, then a few days later get a truck in with GT4 on it.

Thinking its BS, but I'll check tomorrow and post something for yall...

It's a load of crap that 18th release date.. until someone provides a picture it is a load of absolute crap.

It really isn't hard to sneak a pic of something in the stock room without that pic ever being tracable to you.

People don't have to photo you smiling holding the game + your birth certificate to proove who you are.. just sneak a pic of the actual boxed game and throw it up on the net somewhere that isn't directly linked to you. Not that anything would really happen if it was leaked like that anyway.

I know it's frustrating, it's been a long wait, but calm down now; wait until next Tuesday and then go back and tell them wathever you want. If they are wrong (very likely) you will be fine, it's not like you believed in the first place. so just relax.

p.s. they might be just a bunch of kids, indeed. At least most of them. that's another reason why I never wasted my time on that board. I'm here to know more about the next GT release not to argue and to guess release dates.

Release date speculation annoys me to no end. I will not believe anything until I get a phone call from the Gamestop where I reserved my copy telling me that I can come pick it up. And even then I will not completely believe it until I actually put the disc in my PS2. Stop making this crap up people, you're doing nothing but pissing off half the continent.

Well put. After reading through the way this thread developed I would have to agree. Nonetheless I'm going out to reserve my copy whenever I get the chance.

People want to believe so bad that those kids are telling the truth..No Way in hell is it real...they are all from Minnesota (midwestern USA)...I'm from Minnesota

Why would Minnesota get the games before ANYBODY else...I admit though...pretty good prank..because people want this game SO bad, they will believe anything
 
I'm from minnesota too....in fact, I'm from WOODBURY minnesota - the same place he says has a huge box of GT4 at circuit city....and I know people that work there.....I'm working on confirming this story asap, but nobody is answering their cell phones.


P.S. anyone else in MN want to get together for a little LAN GT4 action when it finally does get released? I have 3 tv's and 3 PS2's that are connected to my lan already....send me a PM if you live anywhere close to Woodbury, MN.
 
The 5th page of that IGN Board thread pretty much kills the rumor. I'm surprised the person who posted the link didn't continue to read on to see if it was true of not.

I posted the link. at 1:14 pm today. when the other thread was at like post 30 and looked much more credabile(sp?). then 3 or 4 kids got in and made like 200 stupid posts.
