New Release Date Discussion

I asked the peeps at the local when the release date was and here was the answer i got.

"We're expecting the PC version of the game in the beginning of february, and the PS2 version som weeks after the PC release"

You should've slapped 'em for stupidity.

As for the Q1 2005 release......that depends on what month Sony starts their FISCAL year.

Not all companies start their Fiscal year on January 1st.

ROTFLOL Why didn't you just say, OK I would like to preorder the PC version and later, when PS2 version is out go there and yeel on them, where is your PC version .

Honestly I can't believe that there are salers like that out there.

And I guess the Xbox version will come out in June right? lol

You should have asked them what pills they've been popping out in the back and recommend they cut the dosage. Soon you'll hear from them that it'll be ported the the Gameboy Advance...

hey guys. ive been hearing alot about January 18 as the NA relese date on the boards in IGN.com. this guy says that he works at Circut City and that they have already recieved the shipment and they are just holding it in the back. although i am still skeptical about it, i still think its worth bringing up. *crosses fingers*

Not all companies start their Fiscal year on January 1st.

Sony's (NYSE:SNE) fiscal year ends on March 31st. This is not related to the release date because that date is set for the 1st quarter of the year 2005 (Jan-Mar), not the 1st quarter of Sony's fiscal year. If the latter were the case, the game wouldn't be released until Apr-Jun, and that is unlikely.

there was another person claiming to have seen a shipment of gt4 in the back of a different store. but i still don't think it will come out on tuesday. but i am still go to the game store to check.

ahhh! Make it stop...

Not trying to be hateful espy, but its really not worth bringing up. Today is Jan. 12, and there is no way in hades that Sony will give an official release date 6 days before its in stores. Don't even give a thought to a release date for N.A. unless it comes directly from Sony. Circuit City, Gamestop, EB Games, and even places like IGN are just guessing at the moment.

Don't fuel their fire of falsities and untruthitudes!

Gotta return a game to blockbuster, and while I'm out I'm gonna head to BB and see if they've got GT4 in the back. Doubt it, but if it was getting released next tuesday, BB would/should have it within the next few days.

Best Buy employee here. Our inventory system shows a skew for the game and the stratigy guide. For the game it show a date of 3-1-05. For the Book it shows 2-22-05. I work at best buy and personally dont trust these dates. I keep a daily watch on these 2 items in the shipping database to see when or if the they are in transit to the stores. Nothing yet. Once its in transit to stores, release wont be far behind.

Sorry to say, but a magazine isn't going to be the place to look for release dates. In order for them to have it right, they would have had to have gotten the news about the release date at least two weeks before you got the magazine.. these things take time to print and distribute. And we would have heard about it.

So chalk that up to "just one more wild guess".

The Japanese version is already out since decembre 28th, i can't believe it takes 3 whole months before it gets to Europe!!

Last week I went to best buy (thank god I found a slim ps2) and while I was there, I saw pre order cards for GT4. I figured what the hell and I bought one. I'm looking at it right now and it says a release date of "1/19/05 dates subject to change" Like I said, this was last week I picked it up, and it was a 2 week window at that time.

It wont be any later than 25th of feb for UK. The article in offical Ps2 mag is old. The mag was released after the release date was confirmed as 25th of feb and written even before that. Never belive release dates in a magazine
