New Release Date Discussion

This whole "JAN 18" release date for GT4, and the sightings of GT4 in boxes with red tape, IT'S ALL A HOAX!!! :crazy: I too thought GT4 was gonna come out next Tuesday, but the more this has developed and the more I have read about on this board and IGN's boards, it's more than obvious that this is just a hoax! Like someone said on the IGN boards, it was probably a box with GT4 promotional stuff in it that said to display on January 18! If it does come out on January 18, all the better, but it isnt!

Some promotional stuff my also be dated, they might be waiting for a confirmation from SONY, probably schedule to happen by January 18th in order to get the promo and advertisement stuff out. Hopefully by January 18th there will be an official release date (and that's what is with the red sticker).

I asked the peeps at the local when the release date was and here was the answer i got.

"We're expecting the PC version of the game in the beginning of february, and the PS2 version som weeks after the PC release"

You can belive i had to bite my tongue apart to prevent myself from laughing :D:D

Oh yeah? I went to EB yesterday and asked about GT4. He said Feb 23 is the "real date". He said he's heard of people with the game already. Here's the funny part: he said " I don't know how that's possible. You'd have to fly to Japan to get it." So apparently, most of the people on this site know more about GT4 than any of these game stores.
 
I have the best sources there is in a way.

but for you guys i cant mention about 8 websites which will back up what i said if you want proof. or if people want to make randon guesses all the time to scare people and not belive the truth thats fine with me too
 
What i can do is give you 8 or so website that agree with what i say but i cant give the location of the OFFICAL confirmation

Why, oh why are you trusting EB for the correct release date now? I know you work there, but why trust them? I want to see a link to the official news release from SCEA saying the GT4 release date. I will NEVER trust EB, Gamestop, CC, or BB for release dates ever!
 
When the game is released in NY, it will be released for the entire U.S. Why would they release it for different parts of the country at dfferent times?

Not saying I trust them, just saying that EB is indeed speculating that as the date.

Someone mentioned it being released for the UK and not NY on a certain date. I'm sort of narrow-minded atm, so I went along with it and said NY as well. I didn't mean it was going to be released in NY at a different ti...oh god forget it...my head...

Here's something funny. Forgive the crappy quality, it was either fuzzy and sort of readable, or tiny and illegible. :indiff:

Apparently they're just throwing darts at a calender in order to attract more pre-orders...

Way too much time? It doesn't take a lot of time to open 5 windows and hit Print Screen on your keyboard. :odd:

Sony said 25 february or earlier, the shops are only planning wen THEY think they get the shipment, i thin Sony is alot more reliable.
