My bad Taneras, but you should have said so. It got me too excited so I didnt like it too much... nonetheless I just want some solid info in this thread.

No problem... Like I said, for some odd reason I believe BB's pre-order date of March 16th. Hope its sooner but I doubt it :(
 
I think the only people left in that IGN board are people trying to up their post count. I do want GT4 to come out on the 18th, but it probably wont happen, and I am still willing to wait as late as march before I get totally discouraged.

OMG!!!

I *JUST* left bestbuy and they have copies of GT4 in the back warehouse. I couldn't believe it myself. So I got my best friend to take a picture of me next to the GT4 box. Picture is pretty high quality, so there should be no debate over weather its real or not.

Anyways, my friend let me pre-buy a copy so why yall are waiting for this next tue. I'll be playing GT4 :P

I concur with that statement as well, however I can see how most everyday gamers would mistakenly take that as the 'Real Deal!'....

EDIT Just went to go shop online to buy the G/F a few things & I happen to find my way over to Amazon.com and to my surprise, I see their ad for GT4...I thought it was somewhat amusing as I have been visiting Amazon quite often over the last few days and this was the first I had seen it on the home page....They even announce a 'release' date of March 15th....

Ho, hum...back to waiting, speculation & wild assumptions about exactly when we'll see the game.
 
The problem with Best Buy's pre-order date is that it shifts every other day. They're calling the March 16th date "official", but just two or three days ago, it was sometime early February... how accurate can they be? They're just making it up like everyone else.

They aren't putting out different release dates every other day. They have actual plastic cards with printed dates on them. You mean to tell me every two or three days their sending hundreds of plastic cards to all 600+ BB's that are guessing when release date is? Sounds kinda wierd to me...

I've only seen 3 different release dates so far at BB, and its been quite a long time since they've been taking pre-order slips.
 
You'll know that GT4 is hitting the shelves when you see it advertised in the Sunday Newspaper ads from WalMart, etc.

Beyond that, it's all speculation and innuendo. I've got my pre order already and I'm playing GT1, 2 and 3 until I get 4.

For those of us without....go back in history and play the trilogy until your clammy paws have the holy grail of racing extacy in your possession.

To be perfectly honest with you, I think the hold up is the online mode being included with the US release. Either that or they're putting more american/european cars in the game.

I doubt it very much, as much as I would love something like this. It has been discussed become in this thread. ;)

Those pictures are clearly fabricated... someone just used a marker to write that stuff on the box. If there was an actual shipping label, or better yet, a picture of the actual item, then I would believe it... but its not. It's just someone playing a joke.

I think gamestop is really BS'in alot. These random dates r making us all madddd. yesterday i called gamestop they told me the 2nd of FEB ,today they say is the 8th , and now the gamestop website. Feb 1.... I think they lost it. This game better get a 100 out of 10 cause this waitin can make u maddd. Can anyone name a racing game that can possibably beat the GT series?? cause i think theres no other racing game that can beat it
 
I certainly hope the ones saying it's out next thursday are right but it would surprise me alot. I mean, the game comes out next week and we still don't have a date?

this sounds very improbable to me.
 
Eh, We've waited this long so just dont get your hopes up. Thats what i do untill you know its really going to happen then we can all go crazy. But untill then just "try" not to think about it :boggled: :nervous: we can all make it through if we stick together 👍

by the way, this thread isn't half that bad. Keep posting somewhat credible sources guys, I'm sure we're getting closer to receiving news on a real release date.

I'd rather have "unofficial" dates floating around, then none at all. Atleast we have an idea of when its coming out.

I cant believe that game92guy......... what a joke and so ****ing annoying.
No wonder that thread has 20 pages. If you actually extracted the information from the garbage you could probably barely fill up a page. Lobongo seems to be the only voice of reason but it seems hes getting sucked in by the stupidity.
At times like these im proud to be part of GTPlanet not IGN(ore). :D

I think i got dumber from actually spending the time to read through those 2 threads and 50 some odd pages.
 
mid november when they annouced the delay from 12/03 --> 12/28

they gave the 12/03 date and 12/14(US launch) date back in late september
 
Any day in Feb would be great for me, hell I just want a SOLID release date. Tired of not knowing and getting told false dates. I wouldn't mind the delays as much, but Sony doesn't give any reason for it.
 
They quoted the December 28th release date back in mid-late November, but they didn't show a commercial in Japan with that date until less than a week before release if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: IGN first showed the commercial on 12/21. I'm not sure how long before that it was shown on TV.

True, but after hearing Q1 2005, I've seen way too many release dates. At this point, since we are indeed in Q1 2005, I'm just waiting for a concrete release date.. one that is precise and won't change hopefully
 
I check EB site everyday for GT4 release date. Until yesterday, it was reading 2/18 (I think). Today, it has changed to 3/14/05.

It is certainly not definitive since Sony NA has not officially announced any date but I think JPN PS2 + GT4 will be on order in very near future.
