New Release Date Discussion

Is there any video game conventions or events coming up to announce the release date. It just seems like they would leak a little something to hype us up.
I also think they should start hyping the psp and give us a solid date for that.

GT4 is the first game I guess that comes twice on the same Expo

I say we should just wait for an official realease date, rather then stressing ourselves out over it.

Every time I would come online between August and November of last year, I drove myself crazy. Now, I'm just waiting, patiently. I could care less if GT4 got released next week, or May. Either way, I know I'm going to wait.

Advice: occupy yourself with something else, no matter how tempting GT4 may be. It's all mental.

i know im keeping myself occupied by playing GT3, i actually got a 100% in it now 👍 .

I'm used to all of the good stuff coming out here in australia ages after it's come out in Japan or US whatever. it's like PD are releasing it than all of a sudden there like damn we forgot about australia. its almost like we're hidden down below the equator...

For the US, I've seen everything from Feb. 3rd, to March 15th, to never... err... Q1 2005.

thanks a bunch. Let's hope it's february 3rd. that's not long from now. But since i've haven't heard darn thing about it (outside of GTP) somehow I doubt it.

When I went on vacation to Maryland a few weeks ago I stopped at a local GameStop. They had the date written on some sort of poster along with the release dates of other upcoming games (i.e. The Getaway: Black Monday). That is where I saw "Gran Turismo 4" "Feb. 3". I think March 15th is a more realistic release date for the US.

Hey just heard for gamecrazy that they are suposed to recive gt4 feb. 9, so I reserved my copy. Now before everyone starts flamin about how you guys dont listen to game stores, it sure is funny how they knew that gt4 was being delayed before scea or pd released the delay.

That is a good idea! I will carry it out. Showing them that we have taken enough and at the same time not depriving ourselves of the game. The exitement has been broken, so I really don't care when it comes out. A week I can wait, after all I won't feel like I'm the first to play it, many people have had the japanese/chinese version for some time now.

Imagine going past a house and hearing the rumble of the cars from someone playing the game in the interior of the house. In other times this would have made me run like crazy to the store to get my copy.

The only thing that would make me set camp in front of the store is if Ferrari and Lamborghini were added.

I think I know why this game is beeing delayed so much. GT3 was released in 2001 GT4 thou beeing compleated for some time now seems to be going to be released near 2006. Five years!!!
As of now PD must be hard at work on GT5 for PS3 wich is suposedly going to lunch in 2007-2008 maybe by 2009 we would have GT5. And by delaying this game that is already been compleated they lessen the gap of time between games.

GT4 is not going to be released closer to 2006 than it is 2005, its coming out in february in the US march for the rest of us

When I bought an PS2 controller at my local GameCrazy store in Beaverton, OR(USA) just few hours ago, I asked "there still isn't anything new on the GT4 release date, right?" His answer was "Actually, we got the hard date for it now, March 15th". Since this was the first time since the December release date, any local video game store was able to give me an date, I thought it might be noteworthy.

EGM just published their review of the game (9.5, 9.5, 9.5). Which in and of itself isn't really that big a deal.. I mean, everybody reviews games. But EGM has always stated, and they maintain to this day, that they only review the final versions of the games. They don't review "preview copies", betas, or "almost done"s. Final, retail versions only.

So... if EGM has the final American version sitting in their office right now.... how much longer can it be?
