But they already said the US version will be released later then the PAL. So you american friends of mine can hope of maybe another 10 additional cars. Save the best for last.

Ehm, this doesnt seem very believable. could you please show me where this is an official statement by sony? or PD or whatever source you got that from.
 
Now that the release date of PAL version is official (9th of March) I heard hear on the forum the US release will come after that date. And also official is that they add 10 cars in the PAL release so you american's can MAYBE HOPE on an other extra 10 cars. and maybe american cars this time. It CAN be believable that it will happen because they put 10 european cars in the european release.

Anyways theres a whole month before march 11 (actually a little bit more). if everything goes smoothly for SCEA, and nothing else needs to be done, im thinking itll come out on Feb 22nd, but it might come out first in europe, who knows? (thinks to self "I know, and it wont come out in europe til after it comes out here MUAHAHAH")

Then you normally had already noticed that there is an official message from SCEE on the Total Games Site totalgames site about the PAL release (9th March for pre-orders and 11th March in shops) Also there will be 10 cars (european) included where 4 are still secret. and those six will include:
Alfa Romeo GT,
Audi Nuvolari Quattro,
Award-winning modified HPA Motorsports VW Golf IV R32,
Auto Union V16 Type C Streamline Race Car,
Chaparral 2J Race Car,
1993 Le Mans winning Peugeot 905.

They say that some bugs are fixed. e.g.: oil change possible by F1 cars, ...
 
So "best" is 10 additional US cars? Pah, what a waste, unless they are the 2 gens of Ford Probes, the Escort GT, and the Capri Turbo. That still leaves 6 American cars. Not really worth it.

I should go to Best Buy to pre-order. It's not like it's gonna come out soon though so I'll prolly just stay home and play/hybrid Concept Tokyo some more...

There's 2 reasons for delays: Actual production time, and marketing ploys.
Ofcourse GT4 is, I believed, finished and ready for release.
For better profit, Polyphony has delayed the date, especially in the US, to create more interest and to make the situation on release day that there is a mad rush to get the game because Americans have nothing better to do than play video games.
What sucks is that the younger people rely on thier parents for transportation to the store. The parents will get pissed if they have to run around to different stores because thier kid wants this game so bad and even though the parents tell them to wait they crack under the pressure and do whatever thier kids want them to do. Us of driving age, seeking out "The Real Driving Simulator", don't care if we have to drive around town to find the game, as long as we find it. Anyway, so then the parents get in thier Caravans and run all over the place, and when they don't find it(because us of driving age can get thier faster), the kid blames the parents and has a fit because he didn't get his very important game. Then, with the game you gotta get the guide(because some people can't drive worth crap in the game) and get the wheel and pedal set and get a T-shirt and a hat and a back pack and etc. Generates more money.

It's all about the money, duh.

But I honestly have no idea why we don't even have a solid release date yet. I hope we get few extra cars since we had to wait so long. An 04 SVT Cobra would work just fine for me 👍
 
I don't get it either! For once we get a game earlier than the US!
But no date fot the US GT4 release? I was planning on getting the US version first on the assumption the the European (and therefore PAL) GT4 won't have a 60hrz option or be fully optomized.
Well, we'll see..I'm just glad it's nearly here! :D
 
Well i have no idea what to think about the release date lol.. other than its somewhere in the beginning of march.. but here in toronto canada its listed on best buy as march 1 for pre orders.. course i wouldnt mind it being the 1st.. but im sure thats unlikely since the U.S seems to be getting it later
 
If it was coming out in February, I think they would have made an official announcement by now.

So it must be coming out in March or later.
 
This really is rediculous. We've been waiting for this game forever. They should knock the price down or something. In the world of business, this is a disgrace. I could imagine if I kept delaying something in my place of employment. I'd be fired after the first delay. Just think of the amount of people that have pre-ordered this game? You have to pay what? Ten bucks to pre-order (I haven't done this in ages). That's just a joke. You pay for something and expect it to release on a certain date only to find out, "OH WAIT, JUST KIDDING!!!" What an absolute disgrace. I know people who are also a huge fan of the game and are not going to buy it until at least a price drop. Or might not buy it at all, just because of the 7.5 billion delays. Imagine if there is ONE thing wrong with the game that we all come back and complain about? A bug, a glitch, something else that doesn't work!? HOLY CRAP! I'd want my money back times the amount of delays they put on this. Wow, they better damn well hope this game is perfect. Wow. By the way, we all KNOW this game will not be released in March as they now say. You know it will be delayed again until atleast Summer time. At the VERY least Summer time! Anyway, back to reading more reviews of the foreign versions and scoping out more screenshots, only hoping to ONE DAY play this game myself!!!

Chillax dude, you know that they won't drop the price just because its delayed, and I've never had a game that there isn't some sort of glitch or piece of missing content, and you learn to live with it instead of complaining your arse off. We'll all have to deal with it anyways so even if they raised the price 10 bucks or so I would still buy it without thinking twice... as I know many other people would do as well. Nonetheless, we all just have to sit back and wait it out. It will come to us all, where ever we are, eventually, and hopefully we'll all be satisfied (if not impressed) by Gran Turismo 4. 👍
 
You have to rmember that for the most part people do nto know about all the delays in GT4 just the hard core fans like us, so many people have not been let down so many times. And for the most part release dates that stores show are their best estimates, so it's not really the companies fault, it would be like mehitnking your job is going to only takea short amount of time and everyone execting you to go by my time schedule when i really have no clue as to how long it acctually takes
 
Ok this is seriously getting out of hand...

Sony has never made an offical release date, so complaining about things being pushed back is just plain dumb. it would be diffent is they said that it would be out on a certain day, then pushed it back and said it would be out another day, etc.

The fact that some of us have pre-ordered it has nothing to do with Sony, it is all the retailers. If a retailer wanted, they could start pre-selling the PS3, eventhough we all have absolutely no idea when it will be even close to ready for production. Just because there are presales doesn't mean you can expect a game to come out when the store says so, if you want to complain to anyone, yell at the store you pre-ordered from, don't do it here.

Guys, do like me and download the latest Version of Racer, the physics have improved alot in my opinion. Download the new BMW M3, download the nurburgring course, and tear it up. All the files can be found in racesimcentral forums in the Racer section. 👍 It will at least help you get used to the course. If you have the driving force pro you might want to set lock using DXtweak2 to about 360 degrees, because the car response is twitchy to say the least if you dont.

I doubt it only because I've seen other commercials on TV already & commercials shown during the Superbowl are usually shown for the First Time....

But, that's just my opinion! :)

You don't think the company created all this hype on purpose? By having this rolling release date? It's all to build such amazing hype for their game. The more hype, the more money.

Also, this is copied from a gamespot news released 09/24/04:

"But at a press conference held during the first day of the Tokyo Game Show, Sony and Polyphony Digital announced that Gran Turismo will indeed arrive this year on both sides of the Pacific. The game will first hit store shelves in Japan on December 3, followed by a tentative North American and European release on December 14."

You don't announce something if you don't know if you'll be able to release it or not.
