Online events update friday 29/05

Well, It's no surprise that we have had someone at the online selection buttons that's one cracker short of a whole box. The online events schedule (that will change tonight: 5-27-09, at Midnight) may be yet another dissappointment for all of us. I'm hoping that the guys at SCEA have watched the boards and have commented to PD that this is getting old for their customers. But then, I was hoping to hit the lottery too.:(

Rash
if they add a Ford GT to that than it would become a Ford GT event. But one thing i would like about it would be that my Z06 won´t be starting at the last place all the time :dopey:

They could always alter the pp

I think a 500pp Daytona Oval expert 1 make fixed setup 10 lap event would be intense, all though I wonder if the poorly executed rolling starts would hurt the racing.

It's not the Updates, but the idiot that's selecting them from a popularity list. :dopey: I f PD/Sony would at least post all of the tracks in the online events for EACH level of difficulty, they would be able to see which races were populated with people most often. 💡 With only a partial list, what can we do about the tracks (Like Daytona Super Speedway- PRO Level) that haven't been posted for the last FIVE MONTHS!? :banghead: Obviously, If we can't play the other tracks not offered, then apparently the rented circus monkey has less buttons to push.:dunce: Wow, what a concept.

Yep yep yep.

I don't think Eiger has ever gotten an expert race.

Daytona Speedway (Oval) is insanely popular in STD physics, but I'm guessing PD thinks the track is for novices and those using pro physics wouldn't be interested? Yeah right. As I said a 10 lap 500pp PRO race at the track would be crazy fun.

As you said give beginner/STD/PRO every track, and just change the pp, or drivetrain, etc for each track per update.

We already have a limited number of tracks, why limit them further online?!

It's not fair there is only 4 expert events, but 15 beginner/STD events.

I really just want to see a PRO London and PRO Eiger event. Preferably with low pp cars, maybe 450-500pp. The big circuits are fun and all but the little tracks make for some really active racing.

I don't think Eiger has ever gotten an expert race.

In my eyes Eiger is not a race track (at least not for 16 cars!). It is more a TT track and I can't see it as a Eiger Expert race... well, maybe if it was something like 300pp or 200pp... and to be honest I don't want to. Can you imagine 16 (or even 12) very fast cars on that track? Carnage?

Eiger infact did have an expert event, it was 550pp FWD a few months ago.

Yeah and it was actually pretty good. Passing opportunities are not as limited as London, with 2 major places for passing per lap. Id be happy to see it return, but would also like to see a Race Car only event at Fuji for the big 3 (Tuned Vette, Viper, GT LM)

I know that this sounds awful, but i would like to see only 4 events, all worldwide. That way we could finnaly get some decent grids.

I'm tired of the 2 or 3 car grids on pro events. If there's not a lot of people playing, then you shouldn't have 13 events with 1 or 2 people playing each one of them. I know i have the japanese version of the game and that hurts the region locked events, but jeez, it seems like i'm the only one playing this game sometimes...

I hope they change their attitude come GT5. We can vote for events, we can have qualifies, 30 minutes to set a fast lap events, i mean, dozens of possibilities and so far they are doing nothing to test the waters.

It's really a shame they don't have a community manager, because sometimes they are completely clueless on how a gaming community works.

Disclaimer: this has nothing to do with the quality of the game, but it's about the way they handle things.

PD go on about perfection, but in reality they are pretty rough around the edges and have a little more to learn.

As for Events, I would like to see some higher PP events so we can run some of the race cars at full power etc and also some lower PP events as well. All pro of course...screw the noobs! lol

I’m about sick of this PP system they just need to lose it all together and let the real drivers play. F-1 event must come back; Daytona is a must Suzuka needs to stay and so on

PP system is required otherwise every track/event would be dominated by a single car running on R3 tyres. Yawn ! Game name would be changed from GT5 to RC5 (Renault Clio)

A PP system allows for competetiveness amongst different vehicles and aims to "level" all the cars and I think its a great way of doing things as it makes you try different cars under different conditions and provides a landscape for variation.

Im actually fearing "private rooms" for the above reason.
Looking at some other games, like Dirt for example, you have the option to vote for the next track in between races. The reality in providing this is the same tracks get voted again and again.

You may not like a track but that shouldnt be a reason not to race there.

I'm hoping it will use a system like Killzone 2: the person creating the room decides what map(s) go in and they get rotated until the room is disbanded.

Ontopic: I hope we get some decent events this time, because frankly, I'm bored to death. ;)

Much better this time. PP750 at Suzuka and a world event in Expert. 👍

Nicely done, PD. It's going to be hard to get out of my current GTA mood though! It's still basically the same as the last few months, but at least this time they added a world event and gave us a wider range of PP based expert events.
