Ah but you see, this fine bottle of water I had was ice cold and it made a relaxing cracking sound when I opened it. So this also could count as "cracking a cold one".

Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about.
I'm a Truckie & down here, we have to have zero BAC when driving a heavy vehicle so, in summer, there's no better sound.
Once the truck is parked for the evening & I'm at the pub, the gold coldie wins.

I'd rather have the water.
