Good thing I'm not running it then; I could never get the hang of that damn SRF.

Ah yeah, but once you do it's too fun in a race. Almost as fun as Skippys.

Edit:
and come on Travis, you know you wanna join ;)

Had an interesting testing earlier today with GTP_Litchi, etc. Needless to say I signed up with the Nissan Motorsport Team 👍

You're entrant number 50

Setting up a practice room now. Room name is "CALM Practice", number is 1472-6118-4259-7712-7127.

Not much experience on Racing Hards at all really so it's a big adjustment, more I run on them though the more it feels natural again to me.

No doubt Dragon. All the season we have done with mediums and softs, when we jumped into the hards I was like no way can I race with this haha. Now I have become completely use to them and when we race again next week on mediums its going to be so different, I bet they will feel like softs with better wear.

And I think I've finally figured out what the deal with the Audi R10 is, or at least how it's sort of supposed to be driven.

Definitely a different animal to get use to. After laps and laps I've gotten better at just keeping a little throttle in it. Not to much but just enough to keep the car on the track and hold momentum. Could just be a product of me getting use to hards as well. Finally got my pb down to a 2.09.8xx but mainly just focusing on keep the car on track and running nice consistent race pace laps.

Nice to see you too Mule :)

It's been such a long time since i participate in a serious series like PURE, the last time was WSGTC2. I definitely missed the excitement of racing wheel to wheel with you guys, and need more practice to be able to keep up with you guys :scared:
Good to see you getting back in action.👍

You'll definitely have to watch out, quite a few of these guys have gotten a lot faster and still won't admit it.

Any practice room still up? If not, I could host one myself.

Try this one: 1472-6118-4259-7712-7127

I was in it early but it could very well be closed now...

Doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Stay tuned for an awesome little surprise in twenty minutes.

Yes the times they are posting on previous posts are insanely fast, however this series is more like this year F1's races Tire management is the key i suppose 👍

Eddie, a double post doesn't matter when it's one containing an important announcement.:p

I keep improving little by little, got it down to 9.2 now.

How many laps are you getting out of a set of tyres in LMP? By the time I completed the 12th lap, I only had a smidgen of rubber left on the rears and couldn't even take eau rouge flat so I figured it's not worth it to run that many with this setup.

For the first time I really felt the benefit of brake balance juggling in the middle of the stint. Will definitely keep experimenting with this, I was amazed at how well the car responded when I gave the rears some more braking power when the fronts had taken quite a beating.

I know, but this post needs to be isolated :)

Sorry Remy, no cookies to Canada, we ran into the same legal issues GTA did :(

omg, RATM in a Le Mans-themed video.. I love you for putting that song in there! 👍👍👍

Plus the video itself was pretty cool :sly:

Anyone interested for practice?

btw, (and this isn't the surprise yet) we've updated the regulations to explain the points structure more:
http://pure.gate19.net/index.php?page=series&sid=3&sub=regs#scoring

Alright so if more then 32 people officially lay down a qualifying lap (given 50 are signed up) will that mean only the top 16 in each class will be racing with the rest receiving DNQs? It looks it would be a pain to redo the points in-order for a division C to gain points.

Also great job on the video. 👍👍👍

Third division will only get 1 point as long as they completely more than 75% of the total distance the top finisher in their class was able to achieve.

We also slightly tweaked the points again just now. Double points for Le Mans will only apply for team scores, not individual driver points.

This looks like its going to be an epic battle at the front from the prototypes.

Are you signing up BK, would be cool if you did, just so I can beat you some more!

Baha, As soon as I would pass you , You'd magically have to go do something for your miss' or go get chinese food or something...

I see from the video dirty air is still going to play a major factor in the LMP class -- even at these lower power specs which result in lap times about 7 seconds slower at Spa than the times we ran in March -- Eau Rouge is going to be tricky. :scared:

Yeah, Eau Rouge and the high speed corners before the bus stop are tricky if running behind someone. With worn tyres, I think you have to back off quite a bit to not go on an excursion to the run off area, which'll make catching up a bit difficult.

I think you might be able to make Eau Rouge flat behind someone if you go really wide left in the first part and then do your best to get back right to not cut the end of the corner. Tried that in the final clip of the video but ended up visiting both of the run off areas.

Really cool job on the video Wardez. It'll be an intense battle between red, blue and silver. Can't wait. :)
