Yesterday i race a daily B dragon gr4 and get the pole .....race started and in first chicane i got hit heavy from the back .....got 15sec penalty ( 10sec for the hit i m sure of it and 5sec for hitting the wall......come back like 12th or 13th made the 1st lap and notice that my penalty became 45sec ...i swear i didnt touch, hit, rammed anyone and i got 1sec more every 2sec ........i had to litteraly stop for the penalty to go down and once i get back to the race the penalty go up again ...i stoped for 50sec .....this is not racing or even a simultation of racing
What da**** is that !? The penalty system is like the russians used to say : tisisbull****.....
Lost my SR from S to B in the matter and without hitting or touching anyone

Yep, the whole thingy is complete ********.
When your time penalty is more than 10 sec, it starts to increase steadily, means you have to stop at once to serve it.
I'm sorry for ya ... for me too and for everyone who suffers from the penalty system .

And I'd just said that I thought the penalty system had improved! Having said that, I haven't had a penalty as a result of being rammed for a while now, certainly not since I dropped down from A DR.

What I did have at Dragon Trail yesterday was being rammed from behind at turn 1, the guy responsible caught me up again on the last lap and passed me with the Penalty banner flashing above his car. I stuck close behind him so that I would get the place back at the finish - we crossed the line, he had no penalty, no red dot against his name, and a blue SR! :irked:

I feel for both of you, Reda and BT
I have adjusted my thinking on Dr/Sr
I don't care. I bought this game to race, not protect my classification.
I do my best to race clean. When, not if, I get hit, in the dailies, I just swear at the bastard and push on.

The "toads" are just going to be there, no matter their classification.
Yes, it is wrong to get a penalty not of your own doing. At least this way I don't have to bang out the sheet metal.

Duplicate. Happened to me on Alsace and it's really annoying. You think you're racing clever and bam ... nope.
I read here it could be lag because penalties are on the client side, not on the host side. So you may see the flag waving while your opponent doesn't. No idea if this is possible.

That for sure is a good ( the best ) approach, something a lot of people try atm. You must not forget however, that the penalties from DR A onwards are way stronger ( I think it still is the case ). So we don't talk about 2 sec, "swearing at the bastard and pushing on", we talk about 10 or more seconds, as Reda mentioned, and that means "race over" in most of the cases 👎.

I'm with you on this, less concerned than I was about DR and SR - as an example, some of the best, and cleanest, races I had today were after I had had my SR knocked down to A!

I wonder if everyone else had been knocked about and taken an SR hit as well, so they were trying their utmost to regain lost SR.

P.S. Finally finished Mad Max so I'm back to GTS :dopey:

I'm glad I finished it as I can stop dreaming about the damn thing. Every night, I've had dreams where I have to find the "blending into the background" insignia's all over again. I hope I never see one of those again.

Reading what you lot are saying about the dailies doesn't make me feel like trying them again... The old scrubbable (new word) penalties were frustratingly ineffective but the new are simply frustrating.

I've found the FFB in GTS to be seriously lacking and the only way I could get more feel was with weak CSA. Catching 9/10 slides with it on but with how much it lights up the icon, I feel I'm getting way too much help so I'm learning a lot less. That doesn't sit well with me so I'm going to learn with proven physics and FFB in other games. Ordered AC Ultimate Edition today and I'm (finally) jumping into Dirt Rally tomorrow as from what I've read, they're at the top of the tree for console sims. If I can get the basics down with those, I should be able to carry it into other games... I'll use the tried and trusted DS4 for GTS until it (wheel) gets some feel back.

Anyone else who did the MR2 race on the BM infield ? Chose the easy way yesterday night, easy track, slow car ;) ... though it's not exactly easy to be quick with it and you can scrub off speed with the slightest move you make. Surprisingly I had some close and intense battles, one with the top 2 driver who had a weakness for excessive use of the guardrail for braking and launching into the oval  .
Kept my SR S rating and even grabbed about 1.7 DR points :D, if this is of any interest.

@kilesa4568
Good to see you on the friends ranking again 👍.

In case you missed it ( like me ), there must've been an epic battle between Timo Glock and Gary Paffett in the DTM yesterday.
Sure gonna try google that later !

Thought I'd try a few laps with the trusty DS4 again but it was just a guest appearance while I waited for the evening's snooker to start.

I was surprised how consistent I was with it after a couple of months break but I'd love to be able to use the wheel again. I don't know what they did with the feedback on G29's when they added support for Fanatec but it's close to lifeless now. CSA on weak gives it a hint more feedback (so I could catch slides quicker) but seeing the icon lit up when I thought I didn't need it showed it was helping way more than I wanted it to. It feels like it's a bad habit waiting to happen if I carry on with it.

Sticking with the DS4 for GTS and learning the wheel with AC instead. See if I can do it right before I get used to doing it wrong.

I dunno, but I like the G29 at 5 and 5. Feels fine to me. I ran the G27 at 10 and 10. Yeah, I dunno. Then I go to a friend's house and his T300 is an ab workout with everything feeling so heavy.

I was using 5-5 before the update and getting on with it OK. Since then, I can't feel curbs and whenever the rears let go, it's too late to catch. I can get some feedback if I drop the torque really low (1 or 2) and feedback on high but it's hit and miss. It doesn't feel too good with steering that light though.

Checked my wheel with a quick run on GT6 and the feedback was a lot more pronounced but maybe that's down to bumpier tracks.

I did around 300 miles last night on 5-5 (no CSA) and got myself relatively tuned into the feel of it. What I can't understand is why turning the feedback up (from 5) removes so much detail? Yes, everything is slightly heavier but it's heavy enough to flatten a lot of the feeling. Is that normal?

Still haven't loaded Dirt Rally up since before I got the wheel. I've got a feeling I'll be exhausted after 10 minutes so it's scaring me away. One day...:scared:

Looking forward to AC tomorrow (post depending) though. I'm itching to see what all the fuss is about with that game's physics and feedback. Hopefully, it'll be an incentive to set the wheel up more often.

Sorry guys, I can't be of any help with wheels or other games :banghead:. Pretty sure though there's nothing wrong with practicing DS4 besides the wheel, as long as one doesn't disrupt the other 👍.

PSN messaged with @bone_tone yesterday about racing together at Big Willow and guess what, it actually happened. Met him for one race at least :) ... so nice !

My 5-race race day began with a mess ( as always ) being on the receiving side of pushing and squeezing good for a total of 8 sec of penalties that sent me back to SR A - just to regain everything in the following races.
Had one win that wasn't all fair though ... ran into that one situation I really hate on Big Willow. The guy in second place had a run on me exiting for the backstraight, and while I placed my car in the middle of the track early running in a straight line towards the entry of the long right sweeper, he needed to put his nose to the inside with the track running out  ( guess you all know ). Been a bit of a blockhead then, we scrubbed doors heavily ... until he lost control through the last kink and got second, no penalties awarded thankfully, and I apologized later.

Really, guys, if there was a "silly-factor", squeezing in and trying to overtake on the inside there would get my 12 points .

That was an amazing coincidence wasn't it! You were telling me you were in rooms with D DRs, and I had all A and A+! Thought there was a good chance we'd get to meet though.

I really enjoyed the Big Willow races, even though the race we were both in (with your P24 quali time!) also had the Region and World number 1, plus Region P10 in it - I have no idea what I had done to deserve that.....

That big old lumbering Raptor takes some dragging round the track, and overtaking was very difficult, unless the car in front made a mistake - plenty did, and I had a few 2nds and 3rds as a result. Only found one dirty driver too, had me off twice in 2 races, took me ages to get back on track, but I managed to keep far enough ahead of him in the next few races.

I don't know what the Raptor's like in real life, but it certainly doesn't feel like it has a 6.2 litre engine in GTS! I see it's been rolled out again today, at Blue Moon Infield, so some more lumbering races to come - certainly think I'll prefer it to Gr2 at Brands Indy circuit, but I might give that a try too

Yesterday i had like 3 or 4 races C and that was a clean fun races ...and that really suerprised me but after when i discover that race A use the f150 .....i did understand why i had those clean races

After dropping to SR A after the first race I actually got matched with a grid of 11 D/S drivers :dunce: - finished with a 15 sec gap to the second place driver.

... overtaking was very difficult, unless the car in front made a mistake - plenty did, ...

Indeed. For the first time I got the impression that some A+ drivers probably don't deserve that rating - too many mistakes along the way again and again :odd:. Thought about getting some more detailed info concerning "how to re-enter a track safely" btw with so many guys recklessly hopping from the desert back to track after T1.

Did you have some more Raptor races on Blue Moon Bay yesterday ?

My AC came yesterday and while it looks like a good looking PS3 graphics level game, it sounds and drives epic. An unbelievable level of detail coming to the wheel that feels eerily natural. Huge dead zone with the G29 but very easy to live with.

Learning some new tracks is a PITA but with driving pleasure like that, who cares. Just one small problem. I'm knackered in half the time I can play GTS for.
