Ah, I see. You put the fuse back in on the fourth day then? A cunning plan that could work for 1000's of sim racers looking for an upgrade. Wait for the dust to settle, then hey presto and as if by magic, it's working again!
 You have me pegged.;)
I've given CSA a go tonight and found weak's effect to be very subtle. I didn't lean on it too much but it gave me a bit of confidence having it in the arsenal in case I needed it.

My traction control panel is always open but I've been able to drop it to 1 for the slowest corners with short shifting. Hopefully, I'll have a bit of throttle control soon and I'll be able to get rid of it. I can't stand the squirming the car does when it kicks in.:yuck:
Pretty much the same for me.👍

@StirlingMoose I'd be up for 600pp @ Midfield 👍

@Mwerte It would be my pleasure to add a speed demon such as yourself, as soon as I hit the PS4 later.👍

To any others in this thread that would like to add me, my PS ID is THC_gtmic :)

I sold mine 2 days after GTS came out
By the way i dont have @ROCKET JOE and @Nonno Calvy and @FPV MIC in my friends list ....go add me plz
I didnt race a lot those 3 days ....making a lot of liveries with the ds4 ...Still waiting for my new wheel ... my connexion isnt that stable so alot of disconnected from daily races and lost a lot of DR because of it
One thing I haven't had so far with GTS, a disconnection! I've got straight into every race I've entered, and managed to finish every race without 'lost server connection' :):)

Yep. There's still a lot of waiting around but at least you know when the race is going to start and you'll be in it. They seem to be managing it very well.

As for driving assists again ... I won't quote anyone ( too many threads and posts dealing with this matter :) ), just try to give you my point of view :
I'm running with ABS only atm. For some of the tests and missions I used TC at first to manage Gold. Got ambitious after though, started to practice and it's getting better and better and I have some hope to not need TC in the end. At least I could manage my longtime average speed compared to the top 10 when I've put some effort into the event. Still, I too often ( my smack ) lose a car unable to recover with countersteering messed up on the DS4 and I don't feel comfortable enough in general to race online so far.

ABS 1 has always been a tolerated aid, mainly because ABS 0 was a complete mess on a controller, the thought of braking alone made the wheels lock . TC, Stability Manager or Active Steering were 'free to use' because none of them improved laptimes ( except for beginners who need every aid available to get a good lap together ).
Btw I have a slight feel that some of the ongoing discussions confuse GT6 and GTS assists a little, maybe for ASM and CSA have a few things in common.
SRF was different and we all can sing that song. @superwally , you instantly were quicker with SRF and the advantage could be increased exponentially when triggering it by your driving ( brake late, turn in extremely, let SRF recover you and exit at full throttle ).
Well, that's history :D ... but if something similar applies to CSA as well, like having extreme ( extremely fast but uncontrollable ???) setups with CSA 'saving your bacon' resulting in improved laptimes, it's an issue. @StirlingMoose , everyone could use this ... deja vu ? !

Will wait and see, and do more tests. As for now I'd be cautious taking anything as given truth - and I'm thankful having you as a forum with a lot of competence to discuss things .

What else ?
Got aware that one event per day probably is max for me. Like coming home from work, dinner, news, then an hour or so for qualifying, a few races with a win at last and off to bed - sigh.

It wouldn't surprise me to see strong active steering playing a big part again but never for me. I could feel the benefit on corner exits and would definitely be quicker for it but at the same time, why would I buy a driving game and then let the console do half of the steering for me? Using it long term even makes me wonder if it could be become a detriment to improving as it hides your real limit. The flip side is the people with slower reactions would have a nightmare without it, especially in races. I begrudge the top drivers using its mechanics to improve their times but happily condone its use if it's really needed.

Like all assists (apart from ABS), you're supposed to wean yourself off them as you improve but if Sport is going for realism this time around, traction control has to be a viable assist. I'm sticking with it for the slowest corners and quicker cars for now and weak counter steer till the new muscle memory kicks in with the new physics.

A month or two should see me drop the assists back to ABS only...unless I'm in the Hellcat... Has anyone tried driving that car on road tires without TC? If I ever manage to do an incident free lap in that car, I'll be very happy.

Had my first random penalty at BB Raceway tonight - nowhere near another car at first corner, didn't hit wall or shortcut the corner, and got a 10 second penalty! Happened to another guy in the same race too.

Weird!

 881 Nm max.
A little Hellcat TT challenge ?
Full stock car, you choose tires and track, no assists except ABS :D ?

Considering I managed to spin on practically every corner and even once or twice on a straight, I'd have to say life's way too short for that challenge...

It's a car I'll be revisiting a few months down the road though. It could be my Sport version of the F40 for the fun drives.

Ok, retreat accepted  ... I'll try a livery in the meantime "From hell to GT Sport".

Sorry my ignorance but I did not read the manual (I promise I'll do it ...)
a few questions: I've seen some your banners on the appreciation of my work, thank you but where can i see what you liked?
CSA, ASM, DS4 what do you mean?
Any of you have the G29? what parameters did you set up ?
when I see a friend online, what it means to "follow"?
in the replay, as I can see the data of the car I want to frame, I only see the commands of the replay.
Sorry and send me to that country. ..

I'm a noob in social networking so I'll leave these answers to someone else :D.

CSA = countersteer assist ( GT Sport driving options )
ASM = active steering management ( GT6 driving options )
DS4 = Dualshock 4 ( the PS4 controller )

What is G29 ? :lol::lol::lol: Sry, I don't have one.

There's a button on the right end of the replay command bar where you have to activate car data display.

Okay to be two noobs, but you can tell me what you put on my profile ...... something you did, but I did not understand what, maybe a like?
Yes, I liked the lambo replay and one or several liveries I think.
There's been a hype of social activities yesterday that hit me like a tornado , so my brain ( incl. memory ) switched to survival mode.

I went a little 'like' happy when I noticed the activity tab in the game for the first time. Maybe I should have written a few comments to avoid confusing my elders?

It must be difficult for non-native English speakers, who have a different language setting in the game, as the various assists will have different names and therefore different abbreviations.
In GT6 there were two different aids - ASM (Active Stability Management) and AS (Active Steering).
In GTS ASM is still there, but AS has been replaced by CSA (Countersteer Assistance). I reckon CSA is roughly the same as AS. I haven't tried ASM in GTS but if it's the same as it was in GT6 it only slows you down.

Now I can't connect to the server. :banghead:

Thanks Stirling for correcting.
In German ASM is ASK ( aktive Stabilitätskontrolle ), AS is AL I think ( Aktivlenkung )
I confused things, sorry, and @Nonno Calvy : It's all about steering 👍.

@kilesa4568
It wasn't your likes, @Mwerte sent me at least two dozens of Moroccon liveries for cars, suits and helmets .

PS
I'm doing this track experience thing on Mt. Panorama again ( have you read in this "Oh that guy was impossibly quick with his DS4 on the Mountain"- thread :dunce: ) right now and I planned to test it with CSA later.

Sorry,I didn't read all the messages but you guys run a lob like the daily events?
Or is it in the old QM atmosphere,1 event for 2 weeks or so?

I really enjoy looking through every ones work.

He's certainly been busy with them. I had a quick look at them but with me being (very) artistically challenged, I lost interest instantly. Same with photo mode. They look nice when people set them up well but once I've seen one picture, I've seen them all.

We're just a friendly ex QM bunch who wanted a thread for Sport's content and progress. Without being very specific on the actual topic other than being about GTS. It's a lot more relaxed than a single thread/ topic of discussion and off topic's are a regular thing.

It's a good idea running a race between ourselves though. Something to think about for the future.

Yeah, so has @ROCKET JOE. Having both of them new to my Friends List I've had a sudden influx of new material to look at.👍 It's been a big help to me in killing time since my racing is limited to very short spurts with the wheel and I'm even having difficulties with the DS4 now.

Edit: A bit/lot OT but so as not to put a downer on this thread I'll add that not all's bad. IRL I get to drive my new car today, the first conversion will be finished today so I can finally hit the road, a first in nearly six years. :D:D:D Funnily enough, it's far easier to turn the wheel on a real car than it is in Sim Racing.:boggled:

I'll post some pics of it in the Member's Rides thread in the near future.

It sounds like you could do with a local branch of Britain's Motability. If you get a higher rate mobility allowance, you can get a brand new lease car every 3 years and it includes everything from road tax through to insurance. All you add is fuel. Free modifications if you need them too. They've kept me on the road since quitting work 8 years ago. As an organisation, you've never seen customer service like they offer. Almost concierge level with how well they look after you. Currently 2352 cars to choose from but advanced payments can get a bit daft for the most expensive cars.

I ordered a new Ford Focus Ecoboost (1 litre...) Titanium last Monday after Seat let me down with their Leon FR. Huge delays with factories waiting for parts and they haven't even started building it yet. I should have had the new car two weeks ago and would have if I'd stuck with Ford. Hindsight's a bitch...

Enjoy getting back behind the wheel again but remember, it's not quick match.

As a token gesture of on topicness, do daily races ever let you use tuned cars instead or is it stock every time?

Awesome scheme you've got going over there, unfortunately for me I'd be in the WAV class so not as much choice, and like here, nothing that appeals to my inner boy racer. I'm in the position where I have to self fund, but that's okay, I get to do whatever I want now with no 'Big Brother' insurance company looking over my shoulder anymore telling me what I can and can't do.:)

As a lifetime Ford man, I wish I could have stuck with them but they don't make a car suitable for my needs. Good luck with getting your new ride soon.

 Yeah , that's going to be the hardest part, especially when my new rocket has 410kw. :scared:

They did at the start but found issues with the system. People were de-tuning N400 cars to fit the N300 bracket and tuning was helping BOPed cars absolutely dominate races......it was a total fiasco.

especially when my new rocket has 410kw

I did a quick google conversion...you've got 550hp to play with? They could probably use my car as the starter motor for yours. 99 huge horse powers to play.:nervous:

(I've got to choose low powered cars as my missus has a speeding ticket fetish, only needs 1 more for a driving ban and really needs protecting from herself. Maybe I should introduce her to GTS...)

Yep, supercharged 6.2L V8..... and it's a wagon.

Nothing wrong with low HP cars, we have a 1.6L Ford Laser for our main day-to-day car (because my wife is much the same as yours). I don't think introducing them to GTS will help, pulling a couple of plug leads off might though.:sly:

I like how you snuck the GTS reference in :)
