Ah, got you. Thanks bud.:)

It's been a horrible month counting the days down. I've had probably 8 hours sleep in the last 3 or 4 days and doubt I'll be sleeping at all tonight. The limbo you go into while you wait for hospital appointments is brutal. My sister is quite blase about it but we've all gone white haired and have nails bitten to the quick on her behalf.

No change whatsoever to the tumour but I've been reassured that it's a good thing... The drugs look like they're working at stopping its growth so they're carrying on as they are and continuing to monitor it.

Surgery isn't an option unless as a last resort as it's close to the optic nerve. I should think they mean it starts growing again before they look at removing it.

I'm sure she's got more detail on it but she spoke at 200mph on the phone and jumped from one detail to the next without taking a breath. Repeating it didn't grow over and over so I'm pinning my hopes that.

That's some good news then! Hopefully things will continue to go the right way.

I will open a Geezers and Quick Match Exiles room tomorrow (Sunday) at 8:30 AM U.S. ET. Car will be the Corvette C7 Gr.3 Road Car on racing soft tires.
Thanks again mate!

Question - does the boost work during practice, as I noticed people running laps 6 or 7 seconds faster than everybody else, but they weren't any faster in the race, seemed a bit weird?

Extremely enjoyable racing today, glad you could join us. A shame you missed the flying Cobras at the end!

Yes, for some perplexing reason the boost is in effect during practice so the times are skewed. We typically run the Geezer races with weak boost to try to keep the field intact. Have attempted to run practices with boost off, but invariably we will start the races forgetting to turn the boost on. We are Geezers, after all.

The day the updates arrived I opened a room at Monza, and ran Gr.4 BMW lapping at 1:57.7’s. @Nonno Calvy joined the room and posted a 1:50.6, and after that neither one of us could get near that time.

Ah, thought so - it's a huge difference isn't it, just as well it's only practice and not qualifying!

I agree it helps keep the racing close though, especially so if someone makes a mistake.

There were some big speed differentials in the race at Monza too, people were passing me about 20 mph faster!

Finally started to race the dailies the last two nights and added 14 more races to my 24 tally (24... In nearly 3 months... n00b).

First race, I start 2nd. 1st goofs in the first few corners for an easy pass then promptly used me to stop at a chicane. I forgot I was still CA and got caught napping by the unexpected nuttiness, but a little bit later, I found myself right behind him going up to the chicane... Justified 10 second penalty and only 3 laps to scrub it. Slowed at the hairpin before the start finish straight with 5 seconds of 10 left to scrub when he popped up behind me. Full of murderous intent. Watched him in my mirrors till the last second, jinked onto the curb and watched him commit hari kari against the wall. Oh, the drama! It was just like a popular QM.

Soooo, now that I've dropped down to SR B (thoroughly deserved punishment) and WHOOAA! These guys use every inch of the track and none of those inches touch the racing line. Picked up a few more wins while they tried to kill each other but I'm a fish out of water in B. I need to get my Digtater account up to S sharpish for more predictability. Nearly back to SRA and I got up to mid B for DR but that moment of (evil) weakness cost me dear. My Zen told me to do it but hindsight is calling me a fool.

All going well, I'll have shaken the ring rust off by the time I see some of you on track.👍

i've just re-entered the world of GT Sport dailies also with some shocking (to me) results. Three pole positions and 3 wins from 3 races and to my complete amazement a top 10 time :D

Maybe there were more people with the grip bug than first thought :odd:.

Hell, you topped my Q time by a tenth :odd:, back to practise :scared: ... and congrats 👍.

Only did five races yesterday with PSN having connection issues all day long ( very annoying if it happens on weekends ). No win, one pole and one FL. Had one intense race with an Englishman for the podium, the most satisfying moment however was racing the top 1 driver as he couldn't leave me in the dust just like that. Proud of ...

Nice write mate ... and good to see you're back to racing :) !

Hey RJ, when are you going to join us at the Sunday (afternoon for us in Europe) Geezers & QM Exiles event set up by @nordschleife51 ? It's a great bunch of folks, and some fun racing - @Mwerte tried to join us yesterday, but gave up just as PSN went back online!

I gave the Supra event a try as it's a nice car to drive but the track is shockingly dull. The off camber downhill right is a fantastic corner but that's it. I did 3 laps (got a 54.something I think) and started to get Tsukuba flashbacks... *shudder*

Very nice lap times by you and FPV MIC. I expect no less from you two though. You're at the top of your game.

Way off topic but I'm buzzing enough to mention it. I finally get my new car next Monday.:D I was given the chance of waiting till March 1st for an 18 reg but I can't wait to get rid of the rattly diesel C Max.

You want me to join you ( roadblock Schokolade Joe ) ? Looking through the shared race photos and replays it's big fun and I admit it's teasing me.
I hesitate for two or three reasons : I don't have any lobby experience so I'm afraid of doing the wrong things at the wrong time and as I don't have no headset, communication might be difficult. Don't want to spoil it ! And as the coward I am, I'd hate racing unprepared, means without a bit of practise on car and track. Btw is it stock, BoP or tuned ?
Come on b_t, can you ease my pain :) ?

Tsukuba is a thrill compared to that Maggiore layout . To me the biggest challenge is T1 / T2, no matter what car it is, no matter which direction. It's where I lost all the time yesterday.

A new car ? You too ? What is it ? And what is an 18 reg  ?
Got my new Yaris a week ago in black and red, just like most of my liveries :D ...

I quite like the flow of the full Maggiore track but I haven't tried the rest of the new derivatives. Yesterdays wasn't involving at all so it's on my ignore list like Tsukuba was.

I was supposed to get the new car (Leon FR) back in November but the Seat garage I was dealing with had never heard of customer service. Cancelled it when they told me I was in a long line of customers waiting for the exact same car, even though I ordered it 3 months earlier.

Went back to Ford and ordered a frozen white Ford Focus Titanium instead but then found out factories were waiting for parts and that they closed for 2 weeks at Xmas as well. An even longer delay.

My missus likes the Yaris but I couldn't push the seat back far enough for comfort. I love Fiesta's but being the same size as a Yaris, I don't fit.

The reg is the registration for the year. I got my last car on the 2nd registration date of 2014 so it was a 64. 6 for the 2nd reg date and 4 for 2014. The new car falls under the 2nd period too so it comes with a 67 plate, but if I wait for March, it changes to 18 for the new year. We ran out of letters in the alphabet and had to get radical with registration plates.

Ah, thanks for explaining. Different countries different conventions I guess . I got my racing name on my plate, nobody knows except my kids though ... and GTPlanet now.

Just join in Joe. Shake off the nerves and have fun.

F - f - f - f - fun :boggled: ??? Got it, thank you Cory :).

You'll always have no lobby experience if you don't get stuck in! Believe me they're easier to get into than QMs or the GTS dailies - all friends, no ramming, and lots of respect. That's not say that there's not a bit of paint swapping, but it's all done in the right way.

@nordschleife51 always lets us know the car the day before, which gives you a chance to try it out first - always stock. There's usually a mad race thrown in, e.g. Sambabus on a rally course :lol:

Don't worry about a headset - I'm really deaf, and cannot use a headset due to wearing hearing aids, but never feel left out.

Does that sound painless enough?

Must be the season for new cars - I'm 2 weeks into being the proud owner of a new Skoda Karoq! Ordered it pre-release, back in October, and it was ready for collection on the UK launch day, 11th January.

Absolutely, we’d love to have you join us. It’s a great group, and @bone_tone describes it perfectly. Lack of a headset is no problem at all. Would be great to see you, as well as @kilesa4568 , whenever you can make it. Everyone is welcome!

On a different topic, anyone know what is happening with @StirlingMoose ?

I think it would be appropriate for RJ and Digt to attend the Sunday lobbies.
Probably, after trying, you will want to join also other races during the week, even FPV MIC should be there but I do not know in what time zone is !!
Only on Saturdays is reserved for over 60.
We always keep with BOP, forbidden processing, RH or RS tires and the rooms have other variable characteristics that I have not understood yet ..:boggled:.. (see turbo or push), decided by the host ( I think).
The battles between us old people are, at times, bloody, but only because we are elderly and our reflexes are a bit 'loose.
For rockets like you will be easy easy runs, against the aged gentlemens ......

I forgot: if you have headphones well but it is not mandatory, I have used them only once to make you feel like I speak well ....... then I use the keyboard.
I'm kidding, the vocal party is limited to 8 people and we are often 10/12. My English is modest and if I concentrate to understand what everyone says I can not concentrate on driving

A nice try of understatement. I know how quick you "aged gentlemen" are .

I'm still alive. I had the flu, which knocked the 🤬 out of me for a couple of weeks. Now my boiler is broken so I only have heating in one room - not the one with my rig in. I hope to be able to join you at the weekend for the Geezer Saturday and maybe Sunday. And I'll start the Thursday night exiles room again soon.
