Face facts. If you put it down 100% every time in real life, you’d be history. Or geography. Splat city, anyway. In racing you can’t do that either, no sir. So if gt wants to be the REAL driving simulator, that part’s gotta be the same too
If you give the driver the ability to hit whatever amount of throttle they want with relative ease, then they can learn the concept of driving with your right foot. Feeding the power gradually as I've learned over the years.

Now my throttle pedal is Jeremy Clarkson. Gets stuck around half gas for ages, a sliver of travel for the amount I want followed by full power and a spin. I feel for those that GT Sport is their first real experience with the sim side of racing.

Hello guys
Those days i had some internet issues this week ( got one bar in race )
I miss the old system in gt6 when you had like a month with the same races. at the beginning I started to learn the curves and I am improving with the time now I feel that this learning is no longer possible with these daily races
and I miss the settings it allowed to adapt a little the car with my driving style

You start off fast enough as it is - where on earth would your times be if you had weeks to practice!

I don’t miss the one month, but one day is not enough, especially now that there are so few tracks (change those around: few tracks re one month). And still not a rally among the bunch :( A week would be nice. A rally too, my favorite feature in any car is the handbrake :)
Not being able to set up is a big disappointment. Finding your setup was half the fun... But I understand, Bop is easier on the server so we have better continuity

I hate to say it but I'm getting seriously bored of the same tracks/cars and looking at other games now. Maybe coming back to GTS in a few month's time.

I've already got Dirt Rally but barely touched it and I'm looking at PCars or AC. Maybe both.

I wish! I'm ok with stock setups but I can't comfortably compete with them with only brake bias for company. I'm not sure if even they're enough to keep me treading water with GTS though.

Its the races ...i do alot of mistakes in the firsts days and with time i may reduce my time with some miliseconds but no more mistakes a clean race with no wheels touching the grass ..no early braking because you didnt find the limit yet...you ll adapt when you did see every moves in every corners with time but now with the rating and everything .....you cant show your best in the first day
It too hard to find the rights words .......how can i put it ?
I m sure you dont use the same lines in the last week of a event like you did in the first week....that show a amelioration you did find where to push ....where to give everything ...where to hold everything ( i just quote a famous driver who is it ?? :D)
@Zeitgeist maybe one month is too much ....two weeks for a C type race with pitstops and one week for the others races

I bought PCars 2 to try out the PS4 and new wheel while I was waiting for GT Sport to come out and I haven't touched it since. It's a very steep learning curve. Maybe there is a good game/sim in there but I can't be bothered to find out. There are hundreds of settings - all of them as wrong as they could be in the default state. The UI is horrible. I spent about three hours over a few sessions just trying to get to the point where I had one car set up to be driveable. When I finally got onto the track for a race the HUD, which I'd spent ages setting up, disappeared and I couldn't get it back. Cue rage quit and back to GT6.

Thanks for the warning. That's one game off the list.

Heard good things about AC with a wheel and with it being EOL, there should be a few even cheaper deals incoming. Ideally, I want digital if I can so that's what I'm hanging on for. I know it's light on content but the content is different enough to GTS to make it worthwhile. Maybe pick up Driveclub too for something even more different.

If you PM me what hardware (Piriform's Speccy is good) you've got, the operating system and any symptoms you've seen, I might be able to help you out with that. A PC coming back to life doesn't sound too bad so it's worth a shot.

Oh, how I wish I could blame the hardware...

My biggest problem with the previous 2/2 settings (7 sensitivity) kept surprising me when the feedback kicked in on slides. I was way too relaxed on the wheel's grip so always slow to react to them. Switched it up to 5/5 tonight and caught every slide apart from one, where I went into a corner too hot and took too much curb. Almost spun but managed to avoid having to use reverse so not a full spin... The same move last night would have needed a breakdown lorry. Didn't fully spin in 4 endurance (120 laps total) races and managed to ride out dozens of other pacy slides which is a drastic difference to how it's been. I'm still over driving at times but nowhere near as much as I used to.

At the end, I thought I'd have a run at the daily qualifying at Nurb. A couple of laps there for a 07.6 and about 4 tenths behind at Blue Moon after 5 laps but I called it quits when I squeaked into the 42's with that one. Optimum lap was 42.8 so I didn't have much left to chase at that point anyway.

Another week of throwing all sorts of cars about on every tire from RH and below, I should be ready for racing again.

PC died again last night before I had the chance to PM you the results of that rather good Speccy program you turned me on to. I'm convinced it's the hard drive that's given up the ghost. Shall find out when the PC shop goes at it.

Plugged my keyboard into the PS4 and can now type away like a mad thing & still be online...Fantastic. Much better than using a tiny wee mobile with my big bass playing fingers & Mr Magoo eyes.

Thanks for the offer though mate, nice one.

I find it not so good with the DS4. Bit of a wobble fest.

I can get to the screens that say Play Together, and hear you guys but I don't know how to join in and I don't have PS+.

I hear, "Sorry" quite a bit.

It's a bit of a pisser compared to the PS3 where online was for everyone who forked out for that console. This mother is 40/50 $£ a year & is a bit ropey. Only 3 of us made it tonight.

I have pc1, didn’t even get past the karts. As mwerte said, setup is a female dog. Saving setups and recalling them too. Dirt rally legend was good fun until I tried it again last week. I got so used to the handling in gt, I can’t get unstuck. Shame, cos it’s really a good game

Hello guys, yesterday I turned on the Play around 18 and I found an invitation to Steevebeech, I ran with them until about 20.
At that time I saw an invitation from Stirling and tried to find the room, but I did not find it and Stirling, checking among friends, he was not connected to the network. I saw him instead in the party and I could only send an invitation to Ritzla. Weird things on the network !

Me, mate :)
I’ll get a headset asap
Oof, that’s a lot of headsets to choose from. And even among the premiums there’s always something not quite right about them. According to reviews at least. I’d like surround on ps4, 3.5 jack, no headaches. Advice?

Not so hard after all :) Found one

Lots of technical problems last night. I tried opening the room three times but nobody could see it. In the end @Rizla took over hosting and @Zeitgeist, @Mwerte and I got in, then Mwerte got disconnected so it was just the three of us. We had some fun though. Maybe we'll have more luck next week.

There must still be an issue somewhere in your settings, as you constantly show as offline, even when I know you're online. I certainly couldn't see your room, then just at the point that @Rizla said he was setting one up I got a migraine, so thought it best to switch off!

As for the race schedule :
It's not easy to get into racing with events changing on a daily basis, especially for "part-time-players" - I'd support the complaints above.
To be honest though, I think it's part of a racer's job / learning to get up to speed with any new car / track combo as quick as possible.
So there's some understanding for PD's approach - we're all sitting in the same boat after all - and I'd say, it just takes higher skills to do well with the current schedule.
As the slow learner that I am I'd suggest a seven-pack of weeklies : Could cover all car classes, players could race just everything or pick a preferred selection, should even be less stress on the PD side / server side of things.
And until this happens ... trying to accelerate my learning 👍 ( no high hopes though  ).

Bored, me ? Yep, partly - various reasons. On the other hand ...
I've bought AC in December for its low price but the disc hasn't left the box yet .

Looks like I've probably missed out on something yesterday night.
I had just finished a very well-known greenish-bluish-pinkish livery :D when a neighbor called me to start some lengthy discussion about another neighbor we both have trouble with . So no joining in yesterday. But a new car for lobby racing ... if I ever get a connection again :).

I’m fairly quick learning a new track with a new car, but only up to a point: still unsure and not fast enough. The dailies are not attractive in that respect
The lobby was fun once @Rizla got it going :) I never lobbied before, it was nice

I don't know what more I can do. I've got the PS4 connected directly to the modem on a static IP. I haven't had any connection problems for ages now. Something was up last night though. Does everybody see me as not being on-line for a month?
