First thoughts....Jordan Grand Prix are back? :p

The sidepods are a bulging a lot more than I was expecting after seeing the MP4-25 and C29. Also, the livery looks much better in real life, than the mock-ups which popped up over the internet.

So Renault is the new Jordan? Needs more white.

Yeah, I think all the front wings have those somewhere on them to help direct airflow underneath the wing and chassis. You can usually see them early on the grand prix weekends when the front wings are in bits:

Whooooo hooray for old school livery-ness.

This is the best livery so far, reminds me of Jordan F1 cars, which looked great.

Bright!!

But I prefer it to the sick covered ING car!!

C.

This.

And this.

The new colour sheme looks nice, reminding me of Jordan F1, too. I got rid of that white + orange colour sheme quickly (used the year after Alonso left).

Out of all the liveries, the Renault by far looks the most provacative! As for the aero and overall design of the car, it very much looks like the R29 in some aspects. Still looks great IMO. Ahhh the season commences yet again...thank god :)

I don't mind it at all, but I hope tht when they do get sponsors, the vertical lines are the first thing to go. They just look wrong on a Formula 1 car like that.

Anybody else think this is the best 2010 car (so far)? I love the shape and livery.

It's by far the best livery we've seen as yet. A big white logo on the side pod will balance things out better IMO. I've been waiting for Renault to go back to their original colour scheme ever since they rejoined as a manufacture.

I'm ready to support Renault now Briatore has gone. I love Renault as a company but I've never liked the team because of him. They need a French driver though, somebody like Nicolas Prost.

Loving the Livery. My first thoughts were of Jordan. Anyone else wish they'd go back to the "team spirit" livery used until 06? The blue and yellow one? That was an awesome looking car.

Me, well it was an awesome looking livery but this one as you guys mentioned above that it needs a bit og white and less red. Other than that, it's just great classic!! :)

It does kind of look like a Bee, but I love nonetheless!

It doesn't look like a Bee, it looks like a Hornet. :sly:

(I assume everybody gets my reference)

I thought he was talking about the Daytona USA car:

DO DODO DO DO DO DO DODODOOOOOOOOOO DAYTONAAAAAAAAA!

I'm really quite disappointed by the Renault's laptimes. That said, I don't think it's too much to be concerned about because this is only day one.

I'll you what it needs to go fast. Some eyes and fangs on the side of the nosecone.

True, I think that they were just doing high fuel load tests. Hopefully they will do better next test.

It's not a case of "doing better". At the end of the day, topping the timing sheets in practice counts for very little. It's about understanding how the car behaves under condition similar to racing. Having read up a little bit, it seems that Renault spent their first day running heavy fuel loads and testing out their brakes. It wouldn't surprise me if Kubica was braking a little heavier and a little earlier than he normally would so that the team could collect data.

Kubica has a reputation for being difficult to please (or, depending on who you talk to, a bit of a whiner). If he's in a car that is going to be two and a half seconds off the pace all season, there's no way that he'd be pleased at all. Quite the opposite, really. So when he says Renault have their own testing program, he's surely telling the truth. The fact that there were six other teams there doing testing of their own is just after the fact.
