See, Horizon? Just like TCM, festivals are much better with some playable bikes.
Added this to my wishlist.

Day 1 DLC (which I never like)

This seems short of bikes. How many are in Ride 5? I haven't bought any Ride games since 4

180 bikes something like that, with all of the DLCs and the variations of racing bikes from one standard model.

But i don't know why they everytime uses only racing bikes and top end bikes in the all of the career mode, the rest are just for show.

So down from 180 to 33 in the base game? Wow.

6 is quite a bit more then (including the DLC)

In RIDE 6, you can find the biggest bike collection ever, with over 340 motorcycles* from 21 manufacturers* across seven categories, including two new entries: maxi enduro and baggers.
340 minus the 63 from the DLC (as per the Ultimate image) = 277 in base I think.

I might get this eventually like I done for the other Ride games. Catch it on sale after all of the DLC has dropped.

One to buy in two years time at a decent discount. I'd skipped 5 as I'm still dipping in and out of 4 and unlocking bikes at my own pace.

I thought Ride Fest meant it was open world, but since it's just a stage for career mode with real riders, I just can't be bothered.

I haven't even try Ride 5. Still liking Ride 3 the most though Ride 4 looks immersive graphic wise.

Is Ride 5 better than 4 or I shouldn't bother with it?

The short answer is, it's complicated? There's plenty to annoy us with any of the games but one thing I will have to give Milestone is, they always at least try to make the next one different than the last. There's things I prefer from any of them vs the others, and everyone else will have a completely different list.

Why are they taking the festival racer direction
It wouldn’t even really work here because it still looks like a circuit racing game
Festival racers only really work as an open-world
Best way to describe this is it looks like it’s trying to be NFS ProStreet with none of the vibes

They try to do something more than race-next-race-next...

I just watched the trailer and while I understand they are trying something different to me it is not that interesting. But there's somebody out there who may like that stuff. The bikes look good but I will still wait.

Personally I think they kinda nailed the premise of Ride for 4 and 5, in that it’s just a big motorbike sandbox where you can do anything you want, particularly with the race/championship creator tool etc. no big gimmicks, just a kind of two wheeled Forza Motorsport. The problem with those games for me is that the actual mechanics of the racing, particularly the AI, need work. An easier game to admire than to love but appreciate what it’s doing. Enjoyed trying to create pretty decent approximations of stuff like the BSB and Suzuka 8 Hours a lot, and love the road racing elements too.

So personally this Forza Horizon type thing is just not the direction I wanted this to go - that said, it doesn’t mean they’re not going to fix the stuff I’d like them to fix does it, so wait and see really.

One thing I loved most about Ride 4 was how it felt almost exactly like what I’d imagine a Tourist Trophy 2 would feel like
Big, open-ended career where you have a defined start point and endpoint, but everything you do between those two points is entirely up to you
Conversely, I didn’t like the more linear progression of Ride 5, and I definitely don’t like the festival racer approach of Ride 6 (Which doesn’t even work because it’s still a closed circuit racing game)

This rings so true with myself. I've not felt a bike game as enjoyable as TT was to me, until Ride 4. I don't even do races, I do time trial laps at 8,000 credits a time and save for bikes that way.

I've just started playing Ride 2 even though I have 3, 4 and 5 as well 🤣 Not enough hours in the day
Same here, although I've got 2,3,4 all installed currently as I've been trying to do the weekly challenges. It's a nightmare though as there's no rewind in the time trials and I'm, frankly, awful on bike games...

I do have a bronze in this week's challenge on Ride 2 though 🥳

Ride 2: So far, I like the career setup with the 8 races per season. And I really like the bonus stars concept with the daily challenges rotating. It really gives you something to draw you back to the game every day, but doesn't have a FOMO element - perfect for me.

Ride 3: I haven't really started this yet, but again I like the card concept in career mode.

Ride 4: I hate having to complete licences to unlock the career mode especially with the inconsistent difficulty levels in all these games. Somehow I managed to fluke licence 5 in the European league licences after umpteen attempts, and actually complete that set of licences, so the European league is available... haven't got any further on this game yet though.

Ride 5: this one can be played using cloud gaming on my Series S so I haven't needed to install it. But there aren't any daily or weekly challenges on this one for me to play and fail at  , so I've not played it yet.

I really am still learning how to adapt to bike racing instead of car racing, so I have AI set to very easy. Racing line is just on for corners as the braking zones are very different to car games.

Auto brakes are OFF and Joint brakes are OFF as I want to learn how to use these, plus auto brakes slows you up way too early for the corners.

As for Ride 6, I will buy it down the line, as with the others. The whole "jump on the festival bandwagon" is rather tiresome now, though, although it just mirrors real life.

I've noticed that all of the racing circuits in the UK are starting to do the same. Thruxton had a "Thruxton Retro" festival in the summer that I went to. So it's what people seem to want. And, I must admit I really enjoyed the Retro event, so I shouldn't complain.

The day 1 DLC I hate entirely as a concept, but it's hardly unique here, see PMR doing exactly the same. There's a lot carved out to the 2 DLC seasons, but to be fair...

277 in the base game still sounds like a lot of content.

There's also something else to consider. If everyone waits till the game is heavily discounted, we might not get a Ride 7.

I did that with Grid Legends and regret that as everyone else did the same and now there'll never be another Grid game...

Most people waited for sales to buy EA WRC and now there'll never be another Codemasters rally game...

I'm coming round to accepting that, personally, I need to start supporting racing games earlier (and paying more for them) where I can, as we don't have many left! But they have to warrant support, so I cant preorder unfortunately. At least not yet, I need to be convinced the game I worth supporting first. I might still preorder Ride 6 Ultimate Edition once I've seen more info.

Yes, riding a bike is definitely very different from driving a car in racing games. I enjoyed Road Rash 3D as a young teenager 😀 Do enjoy the "cockpit view " I must say. Creates a higher sense of immersion, just like in racing games.

I do like the fact that Milestone have tried to create a GT/Forza type bike simulator with Ride. They've been the only one and while I can safely say I know Jack about bikes, I still enjoy the thrill of riding fast on two wheels even if only virtually.

You make a good point about Grid and EA WRC. Too many people not willing to commit from day 1 and then all that hard work ends up not paying off and then just not worth their while to create another. Artistic expression snuffed out and less to enjoy in the future for us.

I never understood people who argue "I'm not paying more than such and such for X game" or "I'll wait till it's in the bargain bin" Yet, you have so many people daily wasting money on cups of coffee at Costa that will take them to £70 a week but hey, a £70 game is too expensive. Never mind that you get months and years of enjoyment out of it. How long does it take to make a latte or cappuccino? 🙄

Same (for 2, I don't have the others on PS). In my defence it is currently only £2.49 on the Store. How was I supposed to resist that?

Maybe I was doing something wrong, but the awful understeering made Ride 5 extremely unfun to play.

People complained about Ride 4 being difficult but I found it to be much more accessible and forgiving than 5.

I think 4 was probably the best one, I enjoyed recreating the Suzuka 8 Hours and North West 200 a lot in that one. I love the race creator in 5 but the actual riding/racing mechanics were a bit off. To be honest, there’s always been something about the RIDE games that leaves me a little bit cold though. Think I said earlier somewhere, they’re easier to admire than to love. Something that doesn’t quite connect. The Isle of TT games, for all their quirks, can be kind of thrilling at their best, blasting down narrow country lanes feeling in charge of a guided missile that is inches from killing you (digitally). I find the RIDE games just descend too easily into fall/rewind/fall/rewind and just lack that last bit of immersion.

I hope this one doesn't turn out to be a gimmick, like a Ride Horizon kinda game or something.

I just want real-life physics and bike sounds, that's it. That's all I ask for.
