Sadly we have a better chance of Milestone finally figuring things out then ever seeing a TT2. Wished they’d stop teasing and just say it ain’t happening
Agreed with the Ride 4/5 physics (though still think Tourist Trophy helmet cam did the best at realistic feel). But problem unlike cars the masses aren’t into bikes. Instead of accepting that bikes will never be that huge crossover seller Milestone keeps trying (get they need to make $$$$) so each game is wildly different. More and more they listen to “influencers” and cater to them and each game just gets worse.
Don’t need to be a real rider. Not do a it need to be ultra hard (cause that’s not real either) if they listened to their core base they’d have a consistent seller with a lot less production costs. I’m sure playing GT1 back to back with GT7 is night and day. But if you played the whole series it’s more gradual instead of the whiplash between Milestones titles . Their SX games are another example of this . But with all the changes they NEVER fix the things people complain about with each title
But is what it is. Never try to complete task or trophy hunt. The only titles I’ve completed were ones I just enjoyed and didn’t notice
I've actually communicated with the Milestone team over at Discord when reporting issues on Ride 4 and 5. While the actual team dealing with the commnuication seemed nice and responsive enough (somewhat), I think deep down the Milestone management is another one of those companies that suffer from arrogance, indifference, and way too much focus on revenues and numbers.
Instead of listening to the actual core base and feedback or suggestions from real riders, they listen more to influencers, so-called market experts and other similar groups or people who can potentially boost their revenue.
With the Ride 6 trailer reveal, I am convinced this franchise is at long last, sadly, running into the ground.
So I'm going to echo what you said: It is what it is. I have incredible memories of Ride 3, 4 and 5, gave me so much pleasure and entertainment without actually having to buy and get on a real superbike, so I'm grateful for that. Took me mind off things as well and definitely helped me cope with many of life's unexplained retardations.
A quick tangeant: the braking is such a mixed bag in the Ride games. You don't fall off when you should due to leaning over and braking too hard. The wheels don't lock up and send you sliding or falling when they easily would IRL and at times, the bikes just stop like a rock as if there is no inertia in the engine or any kind of progressive force acting on the brake calipers/discs. Just bizzarre. I think Milestone thinks most of their player base have NO idea how bikes behave in real life, especially really fast ones. They are dead wrong.
Anyhoo, Ride 4 ditched so many great things from 3, such as the upgrade system and some tuning options, along with some killer tracks that I was sad to see go. They did the same with 5 although I do enjoy the new tuning options. Furthermore, mixed reviews of MotoGP 25 and 24 (some say 24 is best out of the three latest ones) are more proof that they literally do not have any roadmap of where they want to be and instead, just experiment with something different every new game.
Terrible business vision, IMO, and they will likely pay for it. Problem is, no other developer is willing to step up and show Miley how it's done when it comes to producing great motorcyle games. Also, moto racing games may be in the minority, but if developed and marketed right with all the right features and options, they can 100% be up there with the likes of AC, DR, Forza, GT, etc.
Hasn't happenned yet though, and not sure if it will anytime soon. People today I think are really weary, washed up, tired, and fatigued most of the time so they just want an easy experience with minimal effort. It's easier to fake four wheel driving in a videogame than two wheel riding. Food for thought.
As always, happy riding!
