Save data from GT3 and GT4P

Sorry if I'm opening a thread about something that's already been discussed. But I'm confused about the GT4 preview on gamespot http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/granturismo4/preview_6115683.html?tag=nl.e576 :crazy:
They say if you have a save game of GT3 and GT4P you get the amount of money you have on the GT3 save game and the licences you accomplished in GT4P.
So if a had 10,000,000 credits in GT3 and all licences in GT4P, that would all translate into GT4?! :dopey:
I thought it was a fixed amount of credits and licences that are "unlocked" in GT4 when you have those save games.
Have gamespot previewers got this wrong? :grumpy:

what you do is you goto Game status and press start and it brings up 2 menus saying that "GT4:Prologue/GT3 save files are present, would you like to load them and get the B License, A License and $100,000?" and u just click yes and thats that. :)

you don't get the amount you have in GT3...

same question here..(i have posted that question already) but if i go in my home, then i click on satus menù, where i see my a-spec point, license already done , and ****, if i press start nothing happend...;(((
 
Keep in mind that the region (US, Japan, Korea, etc) has to match up. You can't load US or Japanese data into a chinese version of GT4, etc etc. 👍
 
So just to recap, all gold in GTP will give the B and A licenses in GT4 once selected, and the GT3 save has a fixed maximum of additional credits.

A brief question; do you get the additional credits no matter what your save percentage is in GT3 or only if you've accomplished the full 100% (which I managed just before Christmas by finally getting that twitchy Ruf around the Complex Sting in a Gold time)...?
 
No problem, heh. I don't have GT4 myself, but it's always been the case in my import games. That, and I've heard it stated in another thread, I think Maskrider's translation thread, to be exact.

Seeing as how it was the last thing to complete the whole game, and it took a while (!), I assumed I was getting the car for the 100% complete bit, as opposed to the completion of the Time Trail section. Either way, I got (another) F1 car... :)

The relevant questions have been answered....this is quickly becoming another random question thread. :indiff:

I don't know what the prize cars in GT3 have to do with GT4, as your garage doesn't account for anything. It isn't loaded with your GT3/GTP data.

Though I'm sure someone can answer you question here. 👍
 
Ok, so I have a Chinese Prologue and a Chinese GT4. I have all golds in GTP except the last three series (Meaning I unlocked only 2 of the "all gold" cars; the Triatholon and the Kusabi). Do I "HAVE" to get all golds in order to bypass the licenses? And from what NK said, having all gold in GTP only gives you B and A, and not iB and iA and Purple super!?

Sadness.
 
It makes sense...I assume you've tried? From what I've heard, you have to get golds in pretty much every liscence to get your A and B gilded in GT4...unless I'm looking at that from the wrong angle...meh. I need the US release to happen. :yuck:
 
If you import the credits from GT3 to GT4, Does it delete the GT3 save? or does it leave the GT3 save untouched?
I don't want my GT3 progress deleted just for a few extra credits on GT4
 
I doubt it. Every game I've played with importable data between games has left it alone.

If you import your license's from prologue to get the Domestic A & B licenses, what grade does it give you? Gold? Silver? Bronze?

No grade and no cup, just a pass. If you want the prize cars you have to take the license tests.

Does anyone know if the A & B licence tests it gives you from your GT4P saved data are the same tests as the ones in GT4P? - or just similar easy tests?
 
If the tests are interesting like the ones in Prologue are - then i will do them in GT4 - if not, and they are like the boring GT, GT2 & GT3 tests - then i might just use my prologue save.

im gonna for sure import my data! i wana start racin the good races right away! ill just do the licences later.

also, does it matter what country you have the save from? cuz i got the NA GT3 and the Chinese prologue and ill prolly be gettin the chinese GT4. Any idea what will happen with this when the finaly bring GT4 here?
 
I dont think you'll lose your GT3 data if you import the save in GT4. In GT:Concept you unlock the 10 million credit along with a bronze for all the licence tests which you export to the GT3 save. The transaction does not harm your game saves in any way...if it did that would just be plain stupid.
