2015 Support Races Announced

Due to the incredible demand from both teams and independent drivers, eight Support Races have been added to the 2015 Season Calendar. On the morning of each of the four 12 Hour events a 60 minute single make race will be held, and a 120 minute race at each of the 24 Hour events.

We hope this addition will provide a platform for new Drivers to experience Network Endurance Racing for the first time and showcase their talents. This should also encourage franchise holders to put together a diverse group of Drivers, and inspire a greater level of team work and development. Please post your Questions and feedback on the General Series Discussion thread.

- Each GTP Endurance Series franchise holder (Team) will be invited to field a single car in each Support Race.
- 2 Drivers from that Team's Driver Roster may take part.
- Both Drivers must not be fielded for the Main Event
- 1 Driver must be rated BRONZE.
- 1 Driver must be rated SILVER or BRONZE.
- All GTP Endurance Series Sporting Regulations will be in force, save from 4.3 Driving limits.

1.1 DRIVING TIME

1.1.a Driver 1 must start the Race and Driver 2 must finished the Race.

1.1.b Only 1 Driver Change is permitted.

1.1.c Driver Changes must be conducted during the DC Window.

1.1.d For 60 minute races the DC Window will be between minute 25 and minute 35.

1.1.e For 120 minute races the DC Window will be between minute 55 and minute 65.

1.1.f Drivers must not exceed 35 minutes Track Time, without visiting the Pit Lane.

1.1.g If a Driver exceeds any of the above limitations whilst the Safety Car is deployed, that Driver will not be penalised, but must enter the Pit Lane to conduct a Driver Change at the next available opportunity.

1.1.h If a Driver exceeds any of the above limitations whilst the Race is Suspended, that Driver will not be penalised, but must enter the Pit Lane to conduct a Driver Change at the next available opportunity, after the Race has resumed.

Clarification on Franchises & Race Qualification

- At least 39 franchises will be issued.

5x LM P1
4x LM P2
5x LM GT
6x GT 500
7x GT3
6x GT Cup
6x TCN-1

- For example, at Daytona at least 17 teams will take part in Practice Qualifying;

6x GT 500
4x LM P2
7x GT3

- Only 12 teams will qualify for the race.

4x GT500
3x LM P2
5x GT3

- The Series Promotors reserve the right to issue more than 39 franchises.

Ok. That's all for today folks.
Congratulations to all the new Franchise Holders and their Drivers.
Registered Teams may now make a post advertising that they are recruiting, and will be added to the OP.
LM GT, GT500, and TCN-1 are still being processed. If you have not yet made a Franchise Application and are interested in these classes please contact me ASAP.

Balance of Performance

BoP will not be locked for the whole season. If we can clearly see we have made a mistake then it will be corrected. BoP is about balancing the Cars, it will not be amended for the purposes of balancing Teams.

Car Allocation

Team Car model, which must be run all season, and Racing Number will be confirmed after all BoP testing has been conducted. Preferences will not be solicited. This avoids any question of favouritism and ensures that all participants are incentivised to ensure the BoP testing is rigorous. If there are multiple variants (liveries) of your allocated car, you will be able to select which one you want to run, base models are also permitted.

Amendment of Classes

Reacting to Franchise demands, the TCN-1 Class has been canceled. To replace the gaps in the calendar, the GT CUP class has been split into GT300 and GT4. Please refer to the Season Calendar for how this affect Class eligible Events. Please see The Technical Regulations for revised Car lists. Reallocation of GT CUP franchises will be announced shortly.

Revision to Support Race Regulations

These Events will now only be open to BRONZE rated drivers. In addition, performance in these Events will now be taken into account by the rating system, however they will not be included in the Driver Statistics.

Series Announcement - DEC 31

We are delighted to announce 30 Teams, 40 Cars, and over 200 Drivers, will be taking part in the 2015 GTPlanet Endurance Series.

The response to the launch of the new series has been fantastic, with a large number of new teams joining last year's contingent. We have also seen an multitude of 'un-signed' Drivers looking for seats, which we responded to with the addition of Support Races to the 12h and 24h Events.

There is still time to get involved, either as a Driver or as an Event Official. If you are interested in having your own Team, there will now be a waiting list.

The ENDURANCE EXPERIENCE Team will be run by myself and has Franchises in both GT300 and GT4. It has been created for groups (mainly local teams) looking to enter a single Event as a one off. It will not be subject to regulations governing Driver Rosters as the aim is to get a different group of at each eligible event. The teams and drivers will score points, however they will only be run at the eligible 12 hour events so as not to have a significant impact on the championship.

Car allocations will be announced on Saturday 10th January, so please can Teams keep up the testing, the number of eligible Cars in some classes has been reduced to help us speed up the process.

The Preview Program & Supplementary Regulations for the 24 Hours of Daytona will be published on Sunday 11th January.

A two day Pre-Season group test has been penciled in on Saturday 17th January & Sunday 18th January.

The first Qualifying Practice Session for the 24 Hours of Daytona will be on Friday 23rd January.

Thank you for your continued support, and here's to a great year of motorsport.

SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT [JAN 12]

Willow Springs Pre Season Test Weekend

Keep your bookings coming for this weekend's open test. P4 - SUNDAY AFTERNOON is filling up quickly, so if you want to attend that one, I would recommend booking ASAP as it is first come first served.

At the moment the regulations require Bronze Drivers to attend a QP session for an Event they are fielded in, so that they;

- demonstrate they are clean, sporting drivers.
- are seen to meet 107% of fastest class time.
- are taking stint photos correctly.
- are familiar with the SC procedures.

Wavers for this requirement will be granted to any Bronze Drivers who attend the Test and meet the above criteria.

GTPlanet Endurance Series GT6 Community Club

All Events will be run through the Community Club and will only be open to CC members, everyone has been sent an invite so please RSVP. Remember you can only be a member of 8 clubs and your privacy setting must allow messages from non-friends.

24 Hours of Daytona

We are now just 11 days away from QP1. Teams with large Driver Rosters need to start thinking about which drivers they are going to field for the Main Event and which BRONZE rated drivers they want to field for the Support Race.

Mighty Miatas Support Race

It was announced earlier in the month that each 12h and 24h event would be accompanied by a spec support event. Kicking off the season will be the Mighty Miatas. All teams will use an untuned MAZDA ROADSTER TOURING CAR '00, in their appointed Team Colour and carry the same Racing Number as their full season car. Qualifying will take place during the 4 main QP sessions, with each team permitted just 30 minutes track time (1 Block) to set their qualifying lap. Both drivers may take part in QP, however only the team's fast lap will be used to set the grid.

Network Endurance Race Direction System

NERDS is now very much out of beta and on to v1.0. A set of release notes will not be published, I'm going to let you enjoy finding the new features and flourishes. I am also pleased to announce that the most asked for feature has now been implemented, in browser PDF viewing, no need to download.

Sub-Forum Maintenance

You may have noticed that over the course of the weekend the sub-forum has undergone a fair number of changes. This is been done as part of an effort to streamline and simplify the process of accessing key information, as well as being alerted to news and updates. Here is the new structure;

Promoter Noticeboard

This is the Hub Thread for the Series. Here you will find all; Series Information, Official Announcements, and Updates. If you have not already subscribed to this thread (GTP ES: Promoter Noticeboard), I would recommend doing so, as posts will only be made by the Series Promoters and will alway contain key information that may require competitors and spectators alike to take action.

Series Discussion

Here things will continue much as they have done. Questions to the Promoters will continued to be answered, however correspondence may be copied over to the Noticeboard if considered to be significance.

Event Threads

These will act as the Hubs for each Event. The OP will contain all pertinent information.

Team Threads (private)

Each Team has its own thread for direct communication with the Race Director for the purposes of resolving Team specific issues and the posting of Stint Photos. Teams are encouraged to set up their own PMs for Team chat and internal organisation.

Team Manager Threads (private)

There are a variety of threads for team managers only for the purposes of such matters as Balance of Performance discussion to QP Track Time booking.

Event Driver Briefing Threads (private)

Each Race will have a Driver Briefing, where final instructions are issued and questions answered. During a Race it will be used for reporting any problems, and the general exchange of information.

Technical Regulations & Balance of Performance Table
