Senna content coming soon?

No news, no hype, no nothing and you expect PD to release an amazing Senna content filled update tommorow?

This is Senna we're talking about. Not some random "hey, here's a VGT car out of the blue" No, this was promoted as a feature of GT6. You can bet they'd be hyping a date for it but they haven't yet, and I bet they'll miss it completely.

When did they say it would release on the 1st anyways? They said we would get the content sometime around May. It was people here that have given it it's May 1st release date.

Also, if you think they'd be hyping it up or we'd have a release date by now you clearly don't know PD. Spec 2.0 for GT5 was announced twelve days before it came out and we didn't even get a release date. All they said was "it'll come during the 3rd week of October" and guess what, It came on the 10th.

They must have been counting October 1st being on a Saturday as the first week of the month... makes sense when you look at it that way.

But, for PD to miss the one day in May where it makes the most sense to release the content, it's pretty bad. Nothing being announced makes it extremely hard to believe that anything actually does get released tomorrow.

What? They made the announcement on September 28th...You think they didn't know what they day was going to be three days from then?

I don't see why it would be pretty bad though? Yes, it would be a good idea to release on that day, but we have no indication at all that they plan on releasing it tomorrow. It's one thing to be mad at PD for missing a date they said we'd have the content by, it's another thing entirely to be mad at them for missing a date that they never made any commitment to.

Of topic: I went to Williamsburg two summers ago with my girlfriend, absolutely beautiful place. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

"I agree. He is certainly not like the Devs from NASCAR 2014. Those guys are very active in their forums and have even been known to race with their fans online. Same goes for Forza. Not Kaz though, its as if he puts himself on some untouchable pedestal or something. Its like he just goes into hiding and when he does come out and is confronted with questions, he sidesteps them like a U.S. congressman. :lol: I've got to say, I really hate his style. I'm not really worried about the content, or lack thereof, or the speed of the updates of some of the features....the thing that really pisses me off more than anything is Kaz's attitude towards the ones that are filling his very pockets with money and his unwillingness to communicate with them. To me, that is very insulting. I mean, we buy your product, the least you could do is communicate with us and let your fans know whats going on. Maybe some roadblocks have been hit or there may be some technical issues somewhere, I think communication of such issues would go a long way in tempering a lot of unrest that seems to be at an all-time high here in the forums and elsewhere. I think that the more people are communicated with and kept in the loop as far as what is really going on, the more the expectations are kept at a lower level and we don't end up having what we have in this and other threads....people upset, wanting to sue, boycott the game, and so on. I honestly think that if we knew what was going on and why some of the things aren't in the game yet, we wouldn't have as many complaint/hate threads. A little communication goes along ways.....I'm looking at you Kazunori."

I think we will get the DLC probably in September/October or maybe next year. :D

Thing is, the more time the DLC takes, the less likely it is to appear. GT6 numbers dwindle by the hour, people lose interest in it and word of mouth spreads; "Yo, bro, I heard that GT6 is the same shizzle as GT5 so buy dat XL edition, it's cheaper and can haz DLC so we got money for Dew". With interest and sales dropping, it'd make no sense to keep supporting GT6. It's a really stupid vicious cycle that Kaz got himself into (or should I say: Eeeeevil cycleeeeeeeee... Stop Controlling everything, Yeah!).
 
I don't remember Kaz ever saying the content was going to be released in may, he said the GOAL was to do something around may, he has never confirmed anything or said it WAS going to release it in may.

I'm not defending Polyphony, I'm just saying people are assuming a lot, and people around here should know better.

I think IF they are going to do something related to the Senna content tomorrow or in this month, it's just announce the content, start promoting it, but not release it.

To add to that, Gran Turismo content/updates are only released on Monday nights/Tuesday mornings (check local listings) anyway. If we didn't get it yesterday we won't be getting anything until the beginning of next week at the earliest.
 
I was hoping for a Senna related update todau, but I guess I'll have to be patient for a little bit longer :)

But PD never made a connection between the Content and the anniversary of his death. That has people here on GTPlanet. Would it fit nicely if they released it on the 1st? Sure. But lets not pretend we are somehow owed content tomorrow.

We don’t have a definite order yet of things, but, you know, January, February, March, April, May, etc., we have updates planned for each of those months, and there are actually more things too which we still can’t mention! [Laughs.]

Ok yes, they do mention that May is the anniversary of his death but they make no mention of releasing the content on the actual day. He even goes out of his way to give a broad release window to make sure people don't assume it's coming on the first.

You do realize that February was the only update we didn't get right? We got an update in December, two updates in January, and updates in March and April.

As soon as he said "sometime around May", the intention was clearly getting that content out in time for the anniversary, otherwise he wouldn't have brought up May.

In time for the anniversary? The very first day of the month he mentioned? He brought up May because they planned on releasing the content "sometime around May". What was he supposed to say? "when is the Senna content coming? uuuuhhh....sometime between the end of April and the begining of June..."
