Senna content coming soon?

My feeling is that if the MP4/4 is planned, it hinges on whether McLaren sign Sony as it's sponsor this year. If that is the case guess the car model is ready, but it can't be added due to licensing (which could potentially be circumvented by the contract).

I doubt that sponsor deal (Which was only ever a rumour anyway) would nullify any contract between McLaren and Simraceway. I've just emailed the SRW guys anyway. Chances are they won't be able to tell me but no harm in asking.

Why not just tell us what the Senna content will be in advance?

By being so vague and secretive about it PD are just creating a vacuum that people will fill with all kinds of wishful thinking.... likely leading to a lot of disappointment in the end.

Really hate the way that PD choose to communicate with their fan-base. It's like a constant cycle of teasing and disappointment.

PD announced Senna content, the only car shown is the Lotus F1 car, GTP news page says like this: "Among the new content coming to Gran Turismo 6 later this month is the Lotus 97T, which Senna drove to his first Formula 1 pole position and race victory during the 1985 season."

Leaving us with more content to be announced, we can think what we want about that content, stuff related to his racing career, Interlagos (kart track shown in the intro of the game, with those characteristical twin buildings on the horizon) another car(s), suits, or even, VGT's coming along with the Senna content

The thing is, we might not get what we all expect, but they announced more than the Lotus, the video and slideshows, there is something else to be released along with the Lotus.

Conversation from several months ago, pre-GT6
"Wow, those sounds in that trailer are great, the cars sound almost real!!"

"Those sounds are dubbed, they aren't the ingame sounds"

"No way, they'd never do that, they must be placeholders because we are getting the new sound engine in GT6!"

"Or they are just the same dubbed sounds they have used in trailers before"

"Nope, no way, there's no way they'd show something in a trailer if it wasn't in the game"

Will history repeat itself?
Not picking on you, but history doesn't predict the future. As evidenced we are getting Senna's car featured in the trailer. Now about those sounds...

I'm just having a 'feeling' they're going to 'screw us over' with 'content' in the shape of videos and slideshows instread of actual usable content...

I prefer cars and tracks over tribute videos or slideshows you'll watch once and then never again...

Well, colour me impressed, I'm glad to admit my pessimstic predictions were (finally) wrong. At last PD throws us a bone, and a Senna-licious one at that. Here's hoping that it'll serve as an opportunity to re-ignite GT6 and drive it away from abandonment 👍.

While this new content makes me happy, I am hoping some of the additional content includes some of the other F1 cars from that era or some of the other ones Senna drove. Because as it stands right now, this car is the only true F1 in the game, what will it compete against? Would be silly if they didn't add other F1s from that era. Who knows.

You can say "among", sure. And you can say "coming to gt6" since its in the game it will be usable content.
I meant it in a kind way, not a horrible way. And I wasn't disagreeing with you...

It's like that XR8 all on its lonesome... All PD had to add, at the least, was HRT livery to the Commodore.

If we could get a Ferrari and a Williams, that would help.

This just came to my mind: the 1988 suit is already in the game. It would be dumb to not include the car too, because it seems they have the ability to do so.
I agree, but the chances of his McLaren being added are slim to 🤬 all due to licencing.

They can't add other F1 cars and have them race without an F1 licence. That's why every other game except those made by Codemasters has just one model/brand from given years and races in one make races. The only exception are the two 77 cars in FM5 which again, I believe is a special licensing deal related to the movie Rush.

Long story short if you want to recreate F1 racing with multiple teams you need an F1 licence from Bernie/FOM.

Does pd have a DTM licence? Just asking.
