As mentioned before, it appears basically randomized so it doesn't matter how many hours you have in this game or in the franchise overall, the chances of you getting one is 50-50.With over 1500 hours played in GT7, I'm really disappointed that I have not been included in any of these .....🤨
Been a subscriber since the beginning and have all of the US market GT games.
They might enjoy parts of it, but not all. The folks who have a lot of playtime are going to be more familiar with the good and bad parts of the game. It IS good to get feedback from more casual players as well, but I think you shouldn't discount hardcores either. If I was making a poll like this I wouldn't have included you (or myself for that matter, as I have similar amount of hours played) as well. Why would I want an opinion on changes from someone who is already enjoying what is available enough to spend so many hours in the game?
I am not saying that is what is happening (as there is no evidence to back it up), but getting new players or convincing casual players to play more to attract more brand deals and subscriptions to PS Plus is how they get the poll converted into money for Sony.
Interesting.btw forgot important feature i was thinking of.
they should add another level of mechanical damage (or even another category separate from it) which would simulate (so it's semi random affected by different factors) real mechanical failures to the point car is just broke and it's over (not the gimmick what is right now with the fuel i was kind a surprised...)
so some cars (which "are better manufactured") would have lesser chance of failing etc (and if you maintain it well). and how you drive also affects it, the more you overload the car the higher chance it will break etc. (like in real life) thats the aspect what misses and what makes the game feel more flat and less nuanced. but ofc you would only (usually) apply this system for 30+ minute races won't make much sense for shorter one. so in a nutshell you can be super duper driver and have a giga car but it can just break and thats it, or in case you can get into the pit and its reparable your could repair it. i am not a hardcore sim fan but this would make races much more interesting/less predictable.
This will never happen for a game like Gran Turismo. 0% chance any manufacturer is going to sign a license agreement that says, in a simulator, "our game will show that your brakes can fail, the engine can blow up and the car can ignite"Interesting.
They could also create a generic visual damage model for broken suspensions, flat tires, brake failures, or engine overheating. They just need three things: flames, sparks, and black or white smoke. They already have all three. It's of course, a different story when it comes to tyres ; but a simple flat tyre provided it hasn't blown out or lost its tread would do the trick.
Yet there are already failures shown by the HuD; applying a sparks effect in case of a suspension failure or smoke in case of a dead tyre should not unduly alarm the manufacturers. Furthermore, the tires are Dunlops, not Ferrari's or Porsche's; as for the brakes, they are generally Brembos. At the very least, they should significantly slow down the cars when there are mechanical damages and increase repair times. This will never happen for a game like Gran Turismo. 0% chance any manufacturer is going to sign a license agreement that says, in a simulator, "our game will show that your brakes can fail, the engine can blow up and the car can ignite"
Since the day I first saw a swapped car in GT7 (back when they were even a legend and PD didn't properly acknowledge them, since you couldn't buy them and they had to be won from regular tickets, before engine tickets were even a thing) I was thinking of an event called "The passion of Dr. Frankenstein" just as a nod to this series from GTSport (maybe even earlier? idk, I started in GT5 and it wasn't there), where you can only drive cars with swapped engines. To avoid the most game-braking maybe set a limit on power and a limit it to 1979 or earlier (so you can think of it a bit as "a corpse taken back to life from theEvent themes in GT Sport that are not in GT7:
The Passion of Dr. Wankel
Strongly agree about the race format. I liked it when I first got the game, because it was a novelty, but now I dislike it for a number of reasons. They need to get rid of the cat and mouse races. It's so underwhelming when you always have to use a car that is way over powered than everything else on track. Where is the fun in that? There is no good racing offline like there use to be. Every race is a 1 and done thing now and I never want to touch them again.
Give us shuffle races back.
